About the property

Cottage in Pwllcrochan Bay near Strumble Head, Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, Wales - 300 Yards From The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

Pwllcrochan Cottage is a traditional Welsh longhouse which dates from the early 19th century, my lovely cottage is set on the cliffs above Pwllcrochan Bay and is minutes walk from the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Refurbished to a very high standard, Pwllcrochan retains a tranquil rural air and enjoys magnificent views of the sea and surrounding countryside. The cottage is 1/4 mile away from the nearest house and hidden away, making it ideal for a quiet secluded holiday exploring the bays and coves along the coastal path or as a base for touring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast.

Going down to the beach at Pwllcrochan, which is 400 yards away and has been listed No1 in a National Newspaper's "50 top suggestions of things to do in Wales" is an adventure. Also within easy walking distance are the beaches at Aberbach and Abermawr. Fishguard is five miles to the north and St Davids is a short drive away as are the beaches at Newport sands. Newgale and Whitesands Bay.

Hot off the press

We offer a catering service and during your visit, if at any time you don't fancy cooking and don't want to go out, I can arrange to have delicious precooked meals which only need heating, delivered to the cottage.

Stunning location

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I and two dogs stayed at puwllcrohan for three nights in early October.

We where totally blown away by the stunning location of this cottage.its set in its own land (with a lake) and it's a few minutes walk on to the coastal path.

There is a small cove close by with steps and a rope to climb down to the beach . We chose to sit quietly at the top and watch mother seal and her seal pups.

The weather was great which was an added bonus. But had it been wet we would have been really cosy in the very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage.

Not a place for TV 's mobile phones etc but if you love peace and quiet and the great outdoors this is the place for you!

The dogs loved it too!!

Definitely will return to stay here, there so many places and beaches we haven't explored yet.

Special interest holidays:

During your stay at the cottage I can offer a number of carefully organised fishing experiences including fly fishing for wild brown trout, salmon and the elusive seatrout, or the fast-growing sport of lure and fly-fishing for sea bass in the river estuary as well as sea fishing from a boat and not forgetting course fishing on a beautiful lake complex. This can include being guided or if you wish fishing on your own. I can also arrange trout fishing on Llysyfran reservoir again guided if required. Please ask if you would like more information

I day and half courses in coasteering and kayaking

Thousand Island Expeditions,, are worth a look, they do lots of different trips from St Justians (near St Davids)included to Ramsey Island and Skomer

The Big Blue Experience offer surfing and kiteboarding courses at Newgale (8 miles away)

Pwllcrochan beach is 400 yards from the cottage. It is an extremely private beach, access is down a rock face which sounds a bit daunting but it's not too difficult and there is a rope to help you. Although at high tide the beach is covered, once the tide has dropped a beautiful sandy beach is exposed. For those perhaps not so brave there are a number of other coves and beaches in very close proximity.

The cottage is situated on the beautiful North Pembrokeshire coast between Fishguard ( 5 miles away) and St Davids (12 miles away). Haverfordwest is approximately 15 miles. Strumble Head is close by and the nearest village is St Nicholas.
