Maison des Vignes is set on the edge of a village surrounded by vineyards, in the lovely Charente valley. It is an old stone house and dates from the 1800’s but has been well modernised inside while retaining period features. It is equidistant between the beautiful old town of Cognac, 10 minutes away, and the charming riverside town of Jarnac, both with supermarkets and shops. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a downstairs cloakroom, separate sitting and dining rooms, wifi broadband and a heated (May until end September) private pool. The walled garden is south-facing and very sunny, with some trees for shade, and a large terrace on which you can enjoy a leisurely meal. The pool is 7 x 3 m and has wide steps for sitting and is a uniform depth of 1.5 meters, it is ideal for lounging in and floating. For more energetic swimming there are large public pools in Jarnac and Cognac, just 10 minutes away, and the clear, shallow waters of the Charente are also used for swimming.

We bought the house with the intention of moving into it permanently when we can retire, which is still a few years away. We have decorated and equipped it as our own home, which is why the kitchen has just about everything you need! We love spending time there, and find it relaxing and peaceful, and particularly enjoy the pool, especially now it is heated. Whenever we go there, with family or friends or on our own, we always find new places to visit and new things to do. Because of jobs it isn’t possible for us to spend many weeks there each year, though we do visit about every 2 months, and after doing some upgrading such as a new patio we decided to let our house for a few summers. We have been really pleased with our guests’ response to the house and the area.
Rosemary purchased this Villa in 2012
Why Rosemary chose Réparsac
We searched for a long time, starting a bit further north in Vienne, but deciding we really preferred to be surrounded by vines rather than cornfields. Our main criteria were that the house should be in a village and within easy reach of facilities, that it should be old but renovated, south-facing and with a pool. We are just 10 minutes from the lovely old towns of Cognac and Jarnac, and that has been so valuable to us. There are so many places to explore, whether it is chateaux, brocantes, markets, the Charente, the coastline, Roman sites, La Rochelle and the lovely Ile de Re, and much more.
What makes this Villa unique
The house, garden and pool are very private and are bathed in sun all day, but there are some trees to give shade. The pool is heated, and a delight to lounge in and for sole use of the guests of Maison des Vignes. There are shops just over a mile away, and in 10 minutes you can be in one of several supermarkets, and some excellent restaurants.

Beautiful house and pool in a very tranquil village
We had a wonderful two week holiday at this house. The pool was fabulous and the house had every home comfort you could think of. The area is so peaceful and the surrounding roads perfect for cycling with small children. We would definitely recommend this property and the weather was amazing as well which is always a bonus! Rosemary was very helpful before our stay and sent lots of relevant information.
Maison des Vignes - secluded, private and highly recommended.
We had a wonderfully relaxing 2 week holiday at Maison des Vignes.
The house is very comfortable with a large relaxing lounge, spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds, good quality towels and bed linen. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, very clean, with lots of cutlery, crockery and glass ware.
Outside, there are ample garden furnishings and a barbecue, with a large patio area for taking outside meals and enjoying the garden. The pool is a great addition to the property, especially if you have young children.
Reparsac is rural and very quite. The village post office is open daily and only a five minute walk to collect your morning baguettes. For family shopping (and cheap petrol), visit the Auchan Shopping Centre on the outskirts of Cognac.
Whilst we we there, we visited the Cognac Festival (14 euros pp) a really enjoyable evening with live music when the town really comes to life. Saintes is always worth a visit.
Thank you Rosemary and John,
We are so glad you had a good and relaxing holiday, and enjoyed the house, garden and pool!
The village location is quiet and peaceful, and with the riverside towns of Cognac and Jarnac both only 10 minutes away you have access to all the shops, restaurants and other facilities that you could want.
Great rental property
We arrived after a long journey and was very surprised when we went through the electric gates into the secluded and fully walled garden which was great for us as we have 2 young boys who love to run and we didn't need to watch them all the time.
The pool was great and always warm and again never an issue with the boys finding there own way in there as a key was needed to get into the gated pool area.
The house was very comfortable and plenty big enough with a beautiful lounge and mezzanine area with 3 good sized double bedrooms.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you would need for your stay.
Its a peaceful area but not far from Cognac and all shops restaurants that you will need.
A trip to La Rochelle is a must and an amazing place.
Rosemary was always there to answer emails and thanks for the help and understanding.
Highly recommended and a return visit is required.
Peaceful, comfortable and well appointed house with well maintained secluded garden and pool.
An excellent retreat to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable holiday.
Secluded, well equipped house in quiet village
Garden well maintained, clean and tidy. House has everything that you need. Good pool - local English contact sorted glitch with its heating. Short trip to lovely nearby towns of Cognac and Jarnac. Pretty walks/cycles/boat trips along the Charente river. Only downsides were very limited shop in village and, as we were out of season (May), we had to travel a bit further for activities.
Fenced pool a good safety feature. Also darts, basketball, boules and other games in the property to entertain all ages.
Thank you for your review. I’m glad you liked the house, garden and pool and enjoyed visits to nearby Jarnac and Cognac and the Charente river.
The village is only 2 km from the next village of Nercillac which has a butcher, baker, general store, pharmacy and restaurant, and 10 minutes by car from several supermarkets. There are many activities only 10 minutes away at the Base de plein-air André Mermet which are open from April to September with free access.
Great place to stay!
Rosemary and John's home in Reparsac is perfect for a quiet and private holiday. The house is very comfortable and spacious with everything that you need. We especially appreciated the pool - the best we've ever used on holiday! The location is also perfect for visiting Cognac and the surrounding areas - we found some lovely places for lunch.
I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, and I can that it would be fantastic for families as it is very private and secure.
