Great place to stay
Great place to stay, immaculate condition and very well-equipped. Ideal for the kids as well, not only got a games room and nice big back garden but a wooden chest full of games in the living room as well. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The owner, Sarah, was very helpful and prompt in answering our questions. Just a shame the weather wasn't great!
Ideal property with great communal space
Very well presented property and was not let down by an features listed. Booking process very efficient and great accommodating service from Sarah. Deposit also refunded promptly. A group of 8 plus one child stayed in the barn. Open plan living space made it an ideal place for a social atmosphere, nice big dining table and plenty of seating area. spotlessly clean and kitchen facilities were ample and to a high spec. We utilised pretty much every aspect of the property, from cricket in the garden to table tennis in the games room. Although slightly inland, very easy access to popular surrounding areas by car. Local pub was not open when we stayed but is in walking distance. Plenty of info on places to eat out and local takeaways. Most do require a driver. Takeaway did deliver by taxi which you will pay for, but still good value and gives the driver a night off! This ticked all the boxes for what we were looking for and would defiantly be looking to book again in the future.
A Real Home from home
Spending a week at Lynchett Chase Barn was a real pleasure. The property is in a quiet and secluded corner of the village (our Satnav didn't recognise it!) but within a few minutes walk of the local amenities. It is especially convenient because there is a railway station in the village, which made it easy for our party to arrive from different directions. The building itself has been converted to a very high standard with exposed beams, a grand staircase and ceramic tiled floors. It has also been furnished and fitted to provide everything you could possibly need. Within moments of moving in we felt completely at home. There is not a lot to do in the village itself during the day, but there are plenty of attractions, plus the Jurassic Coast not too far away. We especially enjoyed our evening table-tennis competitions in the games room and BBQs in the garden. On top of all this, the organisation beforehand, the arrival at the property and the departure couldn't have been smoother. We would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in this part of the country.
Beautiful barn, lovely location
Stayed for 1 week with two toddlers, partner and inlays, great welcome, attentive to any issues that arose or questions / queries during our stay, lovely open plan living area, great garden both for boys to run round in and for adults to chill & relax in, also very secure garden so we didn't have to worry about boys getting out. Very well equipped property especially the kitchen, wi fi , extra fridge freezer in games room, defiantly home from home, with-in a forty min drive to all of the places we wanted to visit and you can catch train to Weymouth from the village. The village is lovely and had a lovely pub and coffee shop, all of the villagers were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Maiden Newton is about 10 miles from the Jurassic coast (about a 25 minute drive). There are many lovely beaches within easy reach of the barn - Weymouth (16 miles), Swanage (35 miles), Chesil beach (10 miles), Lyme Regis (18 miles), Charmouth (16 miles), Bournemouth (38 miles), Poole (33 miles) and West Bay (10 miles) the setting for the recent TV drama "Broadchurch".
