Very Enjoyable Return Stay

  • 5 of 5

The property was as described and was very clean & well maintained. Customer service was good and we would recommend this property.

We enjoyed visits to Malton, Whitby, Scarborough & Pickering. The fish & chips at the Fisherman's Wife, Whitby were particularly good, as was the food at the Fox & Rabbit a short trip down the road.

Didn't want to leave our home from home

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit and we have seen it in all weathers now. We are fascinated by how it can be so warm and cosy when it's cold outside and yet so fresh and cool when the weather is warm. In short this is a cottage you could easily make your home. We would gladly put some extra stars on the rating if we could. Added to that, Carol and Simon are superb hosts, nothing is too much trouble and we would like to thank them once again for their hospitality.

October in Lockton

  • 5 of 5

Having spent a week here in May, we were delighted to return. The cottage is warm and welcoming, with a lovely outlook, and very quiet.

Plenty of bird-life, and lovely walks for those who like to explore, and a good centre for the area. Our hosts are very welcoming too, and helpful if required.

Peaceful, wonderful surroundings, stunning scenery

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was immaculately clean and the facilities were outstanding. On arrival we were greeted in person by Simon and Carol with the keys to the cottage. The fresh flowers, light airy rooms, complimentary refreshments and cake all set the standard for the week for this cottage as being exemplary! The attention to detail was evident throughout the cottage; it was superbly appointed and was a dream to come home to after our long days out over the moors and to the coast. There is no shortage of things to do and places to go; Lockton village is superbly placed to access the moors, coast and visitor attractions. We are counting down the days until we return to this cottage for our next holiday, utterly superb experience in every respect. We highly recommend this cottage.

Home from Home in Ashfield Cottages

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week in cottage 3 from 17th to 23rd July this year. It was our second stay in cottage 3, once again, with our two year old granddaughter, having also stayed with friends in cottage 1 in May. With each visit it becomes more difficult to leave. It is ideally situated to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. We feel so lucky having found this lovely place to stay. Every need is catered for and it is so well equipped that one could stay here all the year round. It is not just the accommodation that is so attractive but the grounds and gardens which are so beautifully kept. Ashfield cottages is just like having your own home in this beautiful part of England. Thank you Carol and Simon for your care, attention to detail and your kindness. We are already looking forward to our fourth visit in October.
