This is a relatively new apartment that has been fully furnished to a very good specification. There is free wifi connection.There are travertine tiles throughout , very well appointed kitchen and fully tiled bathroom. All rooms are fully air-conditioned. A very large private roof terrace and BBQ area which looks directly onto the Olympic size communal swimming pool. There is a dramatic view of the Besparmark mountain range. The Mediterranean sea is directly in front of you with a lovely view of the coastline. Lapta Village is just 1 kilometre away and boasts some really nice bars and restaurants. There is also a water park in Lapta village, and there are mini waterparks available in both riverside holiday village and Acapulco beach hotel. The famous Kyrenia harbour is 8 kilometres away. Some impressive local spots are St. Hilarion castle and Bellapais Abbey. Further on from Kyrenia is the totally dramatic drive along the 'Karpaz' mile upon mile of unspoiled golden beaches with aquamarine ocean. This luxuriously furnished apartment has cable TV channels (MTV, CNN etc)

Lapta in the Kyrenia region is a Tourist Haven and Emerald Bay is the latest prestigious and ambitious development in the Kyrenia area. The apartment is a new build situated amongst multimillion pound sun soaked Villas & Apartments. The sea is right in front of you. Soak up the sun,sea and history of North Cyprus.
A brand new 2 bedroom fully furnished and serviced apartment (sleeps 5), only 150 metres from oceans edge in prestigious Lapta Emerald Bay Development, just 8 miles from the 16th century Harbour known as Kyrenia. It is flanked by the dramatic Besparmak mountain range, views of mainland Turkey and the dramatic local coastline and nestled in olive and lemon groves. It is close to shops,hotels and many oceanside restaurants and cafe's. also within close proximity are old Turkish villages, old Lapta and Alsanjack. Natural unspoiled beaches just minutes away.
We can arrange pick up and drop off from the Airport Ercan (including from Larnaca Airport, in the South of Cyprus). We can arrange car hire via an independent firm.
We very much enjoyed staying at the apartment for 8 days mid-October 2016.
We received good instructions about arriving to and entering the apartment. The apartment was very clean and tidy, the furnishings were comfortable, and all the equipment (including WiFi) was in excellent working order. We noticed that the complex's maintenance people were always available - not that we needed them at all. The whole apartment complex of roughly 10 buildings arranged around the swimming pool is attractive, clean and well looked after. The 20 metre swimming-pool itself is clean and well-maintained, and the water was very refreshing.
We didn't have a rental car and so it took us a couple of days to find the best routes to the main Kyrenia-Güzelyurt highway (7 minutes walking) and the two nearest mini-markets on this highway (15 & 20 minutes walking respectively). Once on this main highway, there is a good, cheap and quick minibus service going both directions - costing between 2.50 and 5 Turkish Lira (£0.60 to £1.20) per person per trip according to distance you want to go. We used these minibuses for visiting beach resorts nearer to Kyrenia as well as Kyrenia itself.
Going by minibus also allowed us to visit larger supermarkets (near the beach / in Kyrenia) for purchasing our groceries and bottled water. Tip: All of the smaller and larger grocery shops stocked 5-Litre bottles of drinking water which were cheap (between £0.50 and £1.50 per bottle according to the brand) and fairly easy to carry.
Going down the short pathway from the apartment to the coast, we discovered that there's a very well-made coastal walkway (extending about 1.25 miles to the west and 0.5 miles to the east) suitable for walking, jogging, etc. Sadly it was only on our last evening there that we experienced the lovely open-air pub that lies near the western end of this walkway - and there's a beach area there too. For those into crown bowling, there's a very good green and English-run pub 4-5 minutes’ walk from the apartment.
Positively, we had no problems with mosquitoes or biting insects at the complex (or elsewhere).
Two minor negatives:
* The apartment was a bit smaller than expected but was still a very good size for us as a couple.
* Some of the nearby houses/farms keep dogs - which sometimes kept on barking to the late evening.
All in all, it was a very good place for relaxing in, & exploring and enjoying the coastline west of Kyrenia. Many thanks for everything!
Very impressive accommodation, well furnished, the view of the Mediterranean Sea coast line is unrivalled! less than 100 metres away. The accommodation is fully air conditioned, you will need it in the scorching summer heat of 35 degrees plus!. There is a lovely large swimming pool with even depth and children friendly. There is free WI-FI available which is a bonus. There was a leak in the shower but this was immediately sorted by the on-site maintenance team.
The accommodation is located in a site mostly populated by European expats and was very lively given the holiday season. There are 2 beaches on the site both 7-10 minutes walk. There is a beautiful alcove private beach for those on site and it is ideal for children because you can walk for about 150 metres before it gets to your waist line. Shops are within 15 minutes walk.
North Cyprus is full of wonderful places to visit. Do not miss St Hilarion Castle built by the Crusaders located bang on the Mountain top. We drove 2 hours to the Kapaz Penisular to visit the golden sand beach, one of the best in the world! Along the route was the Noah's Ark Holiday resort, the hotel was simply Magnificient. We will definitely go back to North Cyprus and the lovely apartment at Emerald Bay
We absolutely loved our holiday in North Cyprus and this apartment could have been perfect for us. Our main problem was the fact that although the description of the apartment categorically states that WiFi was included, we did not have access to WiFi at all throughout our stay in this apartment. As we both work from home this was a problem for us so we needed to book a hotel room urgently in addition to the apartment in order to be able to work for a few hours each day as we had planned. Our telephone signals at the apartment were weak so we could not use our phones from there but we were able to borrow phones from our neighbours to contact the administrators; unfortunately whenever we tried, the numbers we were given were busy. On one occasion we tried for over an hour and then we decided not to bother any more as we did not want to waste any more time on this and make the best of our stay. I managed to communicate successfully with Gary, the administrator in the UK re the WiFi problem and I do believe someone came into the apartment on one of the days to try and repair the internet problem (we noticed that it had been moved from one area of the main room to another), but it still did not work.
It should also be noted that the roof terrace that we were permitted to use was not equipped with any chairs, tables at all; in fact it was jammed shut for the first few days we were there and our key did not open it. On one occasion we did use the one opposite but a Russian family informed us that our flat did not give us access to that roof terrace so we did not use it again.
It was clear to us that this apartment had been empty for a long time prior to our arrival due to the musty smell and several very large beetle type creatures which we found in the bathroom and in the bedroom on arrival. After we gave it a good clean and airing, we eliminated this problem.
This was a lovely apartment, well equipped and just the right size for us; had we known prior to arrival that there was a risk of not having WiFi, we could have brought our own internet dongles and saved ourselves a considerable amount of money. I too rent a flat in Italy on Owners Direct and WiFi is a problem but I make that clear to guests in the description that I give them online and that I send them in the documentation package. It is also important to ensure that if the roof terrace is offered then guests have easy access to it and it is furnished as indicated in the description.
We arrived at the apartment late at night having travelled from Larnaca airport in the south of the island so we had not really noticed the beauty of the location as it was pitch dark. You can imagine our shock when we draw the living room curtains back in the morning. It was as if we were sitting on the edge of the Mediterranean sea, the unobstructed view was incredibly stunning and breath taking, the back view was equally enchanting, it was as if the Mountains were in our backyard! All these views were complimented with the largest Olympic sized swimming pool located bang in the centre of the development.
Needless to say, the apartment was very comfortable with cable TV and yes, free wifi so the kids could be amused in doors!. There were two sandy beaches within walking distance of the location and the main Lapta strip had all the restaurants and water sports we could wish for.
North Cyprus is a wonderful place with lots of historic attractions like the Bellaipais Monastery, Kyrenia Castle and Roman Ruins the Salamis in Famagusta. The Golden sands beach in Kapas is a must visit! The people were very friendly and warm and we like the fact that North Cyprus is not too over populated and "commercialised"
The apartment comes with a private terrace and you cant bettert the view as on a clear day you can make out the lights of southern Turkey!
All in all we had a wonderful experience on the Island and Apartment
Rented the apartment for 2 weeks in October. The apartment is very clean with great views to the sea with mountains behind the building. The communal pool was clean and most of the time we had this to ourselves. Good location to explore the Kyrenia area and a 10 minute walk to main road where the local Dolmus offer transport until 11pm each day. There are a handful of restaurants and small supermarket within a 10 min walk. Would recommend car hire to really get around and explore although if you just want to chill on beaches etc it is not necessary with the Dolmus. Lots of ex pats in the area who are friendly and really helpful too. The owner could not have done enough to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend the area and apartment.
The apartment was clean and tidy when we arrived. The keys were left in a lock box, which made it really easy to access and not have to worry about being on time to meet some-one to collect the keys. The apartment has a roof terrace, which has splendid views and gets the shade in the morning but it only has 2 sunbeds (the owner has said that he would put 4 up there soon). We had a problem with a very leaky shower, but we had been introduced to Okan (the on-site manager) and after seeing him, the shower was fixed very quickly.
The apartment is around a pool, shared by 12 other blocks but less than half of the apartments were occupied, so we generally had the pool to ourselves - the most people I saw in the pool at one time was 10!
There are 2 small beaches at either end of the Coastal walkway, one is a 5 minute walk and the other about 10 minutes.
I would recommend you hire a car to go sightseeing and also to experience some very good restaurants on the main Lapta - Kyrenia highway. Would definitely recommend going - great for a base and also for a quiet holiday.
The closest beach Camelot is a 5 minute walk away from the apartment. 10 minutes walk away, along the new Lapta coast walk way is Sardunya beach which is a beautiful beach with a lovely bar/restaurant offering both local and English cuisine. Along the Lapta / Girne road is the acclaimed escape beach offering some impressive water sports activities including jet skiing, diving and beach volley ball games. Boat coastal tours are available.
There are 2 main ways of getting to northern Cyprus.
1. Fly directly into Ercan (north Cyprus) via Stantead airport. Choose either Pegasus airlines or Atlas Jet or Turkish.
2. Fly into Larnaca in the south of Cyprus with British Airways , Cyprus airlines or Easy jet or check all tour operaters[about 8] for varying prices eg . Monarch, Thomson, Thomas Cooke, and many others.
We can advice you on car hire and pick up and drop off at the airports.

Your nearest beach is camelot (5 - 7 minutes walk). The cabin restaurant on the lapta/girne main road offers exquisite fish cuisine on the mediteranean sea front (5 minutes drive). Escape beach offers scuba diving, jet ski and snorkeling including boat cruises (15 - 20 minutes drive). The turtle bay beach offers santuary to the rarest of protected turtle spicies (50 minutes drive). The kapaz penisula is the home of the golden sands and the most wonderful beach in the whole of cyprus (1 hour 25 minutes drive). The bellapais monastry is a sight to behold, so also the saint hilarion castle, both magnificient monuments of past centuries. Lose yourself in the ancient roman ruins of salamis and farmagusta (1 hour 30 minutes drive). Water sports is a heaven for kids to swim and slide (10 minutes drive. ). North Cyprus currencies £ sterling and Turkish TL.
