Why Kathy Ayres chose Hennock
East Dunley is a gorgeous small holding with just under 11 acres, at East Dunley we have a livery stables and a Caravan club CL site (a CL site is allowed to take 5 caravans.) We moved here in September 2010 and since then we have made many improvements~we have built the new stable block, converted one of the stable blocks into 3 holiday lets,we have put in shower/toilet facilities for the CL site to name a few and in Jan/Feb this year we put in a new drive~ we could no longer cope with the pot holes!!
What makes this Cottage unique
Peace and quiet~ you are in the country however you are only a few miles from the A38~an ideal location to get to where ever you would like to go . What more could you ask for!! We have a great deal of repeat bookings so they must agree.

"We'll be back!"
A real home away from home, we were extremely reluctant to leave.
A very cosy yet roomy, immaculate cottage perfectly placed to explore the local area. All the usual amenities; wifi, tv, hot, powerful shower but much more it has personality!
The bed was so comfortable my wife had to pry me out in the mornings.
We left rested and wanting to come back!
Thank you Annie and Andy Ayres for the perfect break.
Delightful cottage in the heart of the country
This delightful cottage is well equipped and spacious with a south facing patio and has provided a home from home for us on several visits to this lovely part of Devon this year. Everything has been thought of from the exceptionally comfortable bed and matching furnishings in the extremely large bedroom, to the well equipped open plan kitchen dining/living room with its two double bed settees with matching decor. The property is clean and well maintained and the owners Annie and Andy and all the Ayres family can't do enough for you to make your stay pleasant and are always pleased to see you. The nearby town of Bovey Tracey has much to offer with its many amenities. There's a Tourist Information centre in the large Station Road car park and further into the town you'll find a brilliant local butchers shop that sells everything from freshly roasted chickens and, delicious hams and cheeses to locally produced meat products. There are two well know grocery shops and a pharmacy for all your daily needs and a farmers market once a fortnight. If you don't want to self cater then head down to The Dolphin Public House for a delicious meal where they have a varied menu and a daily specials board. Or, another of our favourites is the Brookside Cafe which does a fantastic breakfast, delicious lunch or a cream tea depending on your tastes. If you fancy a Takeaway you can't go far wrong with Bovey Fried Chicken who do a lovely pizza or kebab as well as southern style fried chicken. Additionally, we've tried the Chinese takeaway at the top of town which was also very tasty. The cottages are set in an area of natural beauty with Haytor some ten to fifteen minutes by car with all the delights of the moors or if you fancy a trip to the beach a particular favourite of ours is Teighnmouth with its lovely promenade and sandy beach. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of the cottages here at East Dunley to friends and family and can't wait until our next visit. A massive thanks to Annie and Andy for making us all feel so welcome!
We stayed at Wisteria cottage for one week in June this year and both the cottage and the weather were perfect. The cottage has been restored to provide a perfect home from home. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and contains everything you could possibly need(and more) for a perfect holiday. It is ideally situated for Dartmoor and Torbay. We also went further afield to RHS Rosemoor which is well worth the drive.
All in all Wisteria Cottage is PERFECT!
The cottage is absolutely beautiful, spacious and superbly presented. The owners have gone to great lengths to think of all the little details that make you feel at home. The living area is large and comfortable with tasteful decor and the kitchen has everything you'd expect - and more! Upstairs the bedroom is roomy and bright, with an unbelievably comfortable bed.
The location is both beautiful and convenient with local shops to supply your needs and the vastness of Dartmoor to recharge your batteries.
I can't speak highly enough of this wonderful place as we felt, like Goldilocks, everything was "just right".
We had a five night stay at Wisteria cottage which can only be described as perfect. The house itself has everything and more you could need during your stay. It has to be the most well equipped self catering rental we have ever stayed in. The house is maintain to such a high standard and really felt like our home. Our 16 month son loved being there just as much as us and we were made to feel so welcome by all The Ayres family. We are booking again for Aug 2015 and we can't wait to return. X
We are glad you guys were happy- and we can't wait for you all to return next year either.
Hopefully the sun will shine every day for you next year.
A gem not to be missed
We have just returned from a week at Wisteria cottage and can highly recommend it to anyone.
The cottage, which was spotlessly clean, has been superbly restored and is light and airy with high quality furniture and fittings. The kitchen has all the equipment we required for self catering, the bathroom is a good size with a large shower cubicle and the bed is super comfy!
The location of the cottage suited us perfectly and we were able to explore Dartmoor and the coastal areas from Dawlish down to Salcombe without difficulty.
The owners are very friendly and helpful without being fussy or overpowering.
We have been taking this type of holiday for many years and are sure this is the best property we have ever used!
Thank you for your fab review- we are so glad you were pleased- it's lovely to hear what guests think of our cottages- we want every one to be happy-pleased and comfortable.
Hope you enjoy the marmalade.
