Traditional stone built cottage, with new, electric night storage heating and wood burning stove in the lounge. The entrance porch has hanging space for coats and houses a tumble drier. The cottage has a lounge, with separate dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and cooker. Upstairs, there is a double and twin bedroom together with a spacious landing and bathroom with shower.

Kingston is a beautiful, quaint village. The beaches and coastline are superb. Whilst the cottage is dog friendly, should you visit, you would not know a dog had been there. the cottage is really clean, with good quality bedding.

Fantastic Spring Break

The property had everything we needed for an excellent holiday, location was perfect allowing many different dog walking options without the need of a car. Parking was on the road but was not a problem. Liz was very focused on ensuring we enjoyed our holiday. We will certainly return as we didnt quite manage to visit all the pubs that were recommended in the cottage information bulletin.

Charming cottage in a great location

This a deceptively "small" little cottage which actually feels very spacious inside. There is loving attention to detail and decoration and it was spotlessly clean. We loved the personal touches such as the dedicated "dog bag" and complimentary toiletries. The village of Kingston still has an authentic feel to it, the people we met were all very friendly and it is a great location from which to explore the South Devon coast either on foot or by car. There are easy walks down to the beaches of Westercombe and Wonwell on the estuary.

I couldn't recommend this cottage highly enough to anyone who wants to enjoy a holiday in this part of the country, especially those who may want to escape the crowds and throngs of holiday makers (altouugh you are still close enough to the hustle and bustle, shops and pubs of places such as Salcombe if you want).

Beatifully presented cosy cottage

The cottage is well equipped and immaculately. The master bed has the most comfy mattress we've slept on.

The location is good if you like to walk. Our two dogs had a ball. The local pub has great food and atmosphere. Even our two teenagers reluctantly enjoyed the fresh air and change of scenery!

Jerry and Liz were very helpful and were keen to ensure we had everything we needed.

We would happily recommend this cottage for a short winter break or longer summer holiday.

Quaint cottage in a great area

We booked this very late. Liz was helpful and effecient throughout. We arrived late and in the dark but Liz had been and put the lights on in the house and outside and also switched the heating on. It was lovely to step inside out of the cold and dark. The cottage was spotlessly clean and exactly how you imagine a quaint Cornish cottage to look. It was full of character and tastefully decorated in a white and blue theme. It was very well kept and there was lots of attention to detail. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There were games, films, books and magazines. There was an information and visitors book full of ideas about walks and places to eat. Liz came around the first morning to check everything was ok.

The cottage was in a great situation. It was easy to walk to the local beaches and the coastal path. Ideal for dogs. There was plenty to do and the scenery was beautiful.

It felt like home from the moment we stepped inside.

Home from Home

We arrived at Rock Cottage and was met by Liz who immediately extended a warm welcome and showed us around, explaining how everything worked and answering our questions willingly. The cottage was spotlessly clean, decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. The cottage is very spacious with a kitchen, dining room and large lounge. Upstairs the master bedroom is bright and airy with plenty of room for clothes and a hanging cupboard just in the hall outside for more storage. The twin room was also decorated lovingly, with bunkbeds, story books for the children and again enough storage for clothes. Bathroom consisted of a very powerful shower over the bath, sink and toilet. Small garden outside had a picnic table and bench and it was quiet and secluded to sit and read in. We would recommend this Cottage highly. We had the best holiday for many a year, felt comfortable, everything was available, including clean towels, t-towels and change of bed linen (as we stayed for two weeks). We will definitely return and were reluctant to leave. Thank you Liz and Jerry for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.

Lovely cottage in a great quiet location

We would like to express our thanks to owner Liz, we had a lovely stay and found the cottage was a real home from home which offered everything you and the family would need including the dog!!

Location was central and we enjoying visiting Bigbury and Burgh Island, Dartmouth Regatta and fabulous fish & chips at Torcross, Found everyone very friendly especially the local pub The Dolphin, nice food and reasonable rates and even better a very short stroll from the cottage. The Garden was lovely and Bert our King Charles soon felt very at home around the grounds and cottage and our son Jack enjoyed firing up the log burner and the Wi-Fi facility. Plenty to do and all the local beaches especially Bigbury and Banthum were clean and friendly. Children will love the ride on the sea tractor across to Burgh Island and adults will enjoy a drink at The Pilchard Inn - you must go!!

We even managed to cross over to Cornwall to pick up a proper cornish pasty - Lovely break in South Devon and hopefully be back soon?

Ideal for walkers and those wanting a peaceful and rural retreat near to the sea. Close to the sailing towns and villages of Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Newton Ferrers and a short drive to Datmoor National Park. The City of Plymouth is only 40 minutes drive with a traditional fish market, boat tours and the National Marine Aquarium. Bigbury beach and Burgh island with surfing and the famous Burgh Island hotel is 10 minutes drive.

The Geogian town of Modbury is 5 miles away with tourist information centre and shops selling traditional local produce.

Coastal boating towns of Salcombe and Kingsbridge are approximately 10 miles away. Plymouth city is approximately 20 miles and the Cathedral City of Exeter is approximately 45 miles.

Dartmoor is 8 miles to the North.
