Mallards is a high standard holiday cottage which is ideal for a stay with family or friends. Converted from an historic building it offers spacious and flexible accommodation. You can sit and relax on the waterside terrace, or enjoy a leisurely row along the canal, but if you need more action there is a huge choice of things to do locally and in the surrounding area. Bude has some of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall and Widemouth Bay is just a short drive away. The beaches, town centre and other recreational facilities are within walking distance so you don't need to drive anywhere if you don't want to, and older children can be largely independent. Much of the coastal countryside nearby is open to the public and offers stunning coastal views and walks. The furnishings and equipment are of a high standard and the cottage is regularly used by the owner.

About David Durant

We live in Woodford Green Essex with our two daughters and Staffie, Molly.

Prior to purchasing Mallards in 2013 we rented it many times over the preceding 7 years.

We have continued the services of the excellent housekeeper to ensure the previous high standards we enjoyed are maintained for us and our guests.

We and our extended family continue to use it as a holiday homes whenever we can and therefore have made it a home from home which we hope our guests enjoy as much as we do.

Fabulous place to stay!

We had a beautiful week staying at Mallards!

The cottage is warm & cosy, well equipped, clean and in a fabulous location.

5-10 mins walk away from pubs, beach & other places to visit. We loved 'The Olive Tree' & would highly recommend for lunch, dinner or just for a tea & cake!

There is also a stunning walk to the cliffs & round to the beach which is amazing!

Loved having the use of the row boat - going up & down the canal in the sunshine.

Would highly recommend!

Perfectly Peaceful

If you want to park your car and not have to use it again for the entire holiday, this is the perfect property. Mallards is located on a quiet canal with only the ducks and rowers for company, but various entertainments are just a short walk away. The beaches and sea pool for surfing and swimming are just a 10 minute walk from the property, as well as the town centre and a variety of good restaurants. The local coastal paths offer some of the best and most beautiful walking in the country. Mallards was the perfect antidote to the craziness of our workaday lives.

Further Details:

North Cornwall is well-known for its superb sandy beaches, great surfing, rocky coves and shoreline to explore at low tide and endless coastal walks with stunning views. Just inland are many wooded valleys and quiet country lanes ideal for walks and cycling and there is a very wide variety of things to see and do.

You couldn't wish to find a more central location for a holiday in the South West of England than Bude. WIth excellent road connections most of Devon and Cornwall can be reached in 1 - 2 hours by car, including the cities of Exeter and Plymouth. Bideford, Clovelly, Hartland, Boscastle, Tintagel, Bodmin Moor, Polzeath and Rock are all 30 - 40 minutes away via the A39 Atlantic Highway.
