We absolutely loved it! Fabulous House and countryside. Perfect place for 3 families holidaying together, very spacious house and lots of extras provided (board games, outdoor games, inflatables for the pool etc.) We will definitely be returning! Thank you!
Plenty of happy holiday memories!
We had a really great time in Lachaud and a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The accommodation was very clean, tidy and welcoming on our arrival. We arrived later than planned due to a motorway closure and hadn’t managed to get to the supermarket; so we greatly appreciated the supplies (tea, coffee, soap, loo rolls etc) to tide us over. The information was at the right level and pretty comprehensive – e.g. we used the lounge fire one evening and appreciated the “don’t panic if it smokes” reassurance! (and by following the notes we got it burning fine). We also liked the comprehensive equipment, games etc that were supplied – for example, we used the BBQ and appreciated the presence of charcoal and utensils. Nice and peaceful location – the family felt happy to sit out on the patio in privacy etc. We enjoyed walking the dog around Lachaud and nearby countryside: all the residents we met were very friendly even if our French wasn’t good enough for much conversation (sadly).
I can’t really think of anything that we felt was lacking or would have preferred different.
Thank you for review, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, I hope we can welcome you again in the future.

Great Family Stay. Peaceful location and lovely property.
We had a really enjoyable stay at this property for a hot week in July. The pool was fantastic to cool off. It had all the equipment we needed including a washing machine/dishwasher. The house is set in a very peaceful village set in gorgeous fields. We explored some beautiful sights using this as our base. If i was being fussy I woukd probably say that some of the furniture/lounge TV needs updating but it all worked perfectly fine. Owner was fantastic at communicating. Overall a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend.
Thanks for your lovely comments, we hope to see you again.
This property has been renovated to today’s standards and includes a beautiful pool and patio area.
The property is well situated and it is an easy drive to visit Dordogne ( caves, old towns, chateaux, wine tasting etc.) The rural setting is very scenic and walks in the countryside start just outside the gate. Although in a rural setting, restaurants and groceries are only 10 minutes away. Overall, our family had a very enjoyable 2 weeks in Dordogne.
Thanks for taking the time to review us. We are glad you had a good time and would be pleased to welcome you all again.
A lovely house in a beautiful place
We loved the house and the outside space especially the covered terrace and the pergola when it was really hot. The pool is great for cooling off and splashing around too. There’s plenty of seats and sun beds as well. Inside there’s all you need well equipped kitchen and loads of space and en suites all round. The house is right amongst some amazing places the highlight for us was Lascaux and 25 minutes down the road too. This house is very rural which was perfect for us just so peaceful (with the occasional tractor). We had a great time and would highly recommended this as a place to stay.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was a pleasure having you and your dogs to stay. Our home was left immaculately clean. We would be delighted to welcome you back.
Excellent. Beautiful home tastefully furnished with care and love. Wonderfull scenic area.

We are 2 and a half hours drive from the great surfing beaches west of Bordeaux but don't let that stop you enjoying your favorite watersports! We are only 16 miles from the Base de Loisirs de Rouffiac at Lanouaille which offers glorious sandy beaches & all watersports plus paint-balling, rock climbing & Archery. Activities are accessible to all and are supervised by qualified instructors.
Nearest airports Bergerac & Limoges both approx. 1hr 20mins, approx. 60 miles. Brive 32 miles 45 mins. Flights to Amsterdam, London, Paris & Maastricht.

A car is essential to fully explore the region.
Hautefort 10 mins, Montignac Lascaux 20 mins, Terrasson 30 mins, Sarlat 45mins
Périgueux 40mins Brive 40mins.
There is just so much to do in the Dordogne it is impossible to mention it all!
The Périgord is famed for its food & hospitality & the excellent local restaurants & Auberge are too numerous to mention here, more details are available at the house. Perigueux & Sarlat markets are not to be missed!
Canoeing down the Vézère river is a must whatever your age! Passing by fabulous countryside, châteaux & historic villages. Stop for a swim & a pique-nique; it really is delightful! Book with any of the local centres, canoes, oars, lifejackets and waterproof containers are all supplied. Start at Montignac and select your distance depending on your group, the canoe company will then pick you up and bring you back to your car.
L'Appell de la Forêt at Thenon 10 mins away, is suitable for those aged 7 to 70! A little too high for me! though the children love it and even hubby made it to the hardest stage!
There are reportedly 1001 châteaux in the Dordogne - you'll need more than a fortnight to see them all! The local ones are Hautefort, Château de Losse and Château d'Eyrignac.
Limeuil, situated where the Rivers Dordogne and Vézère meet is classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. A bustling river port of old, the medieval village with its stone-built, dark-tiled houses so typical of Périgord Noir is now a charming, refreshing place in which to stop and the evening market is a must.
Caves and caverns are everywhere in this region, they are all spectacular; Tourtoirac is the closest and is accessible to all including pushchairs.
I could go on and on! But I'll let you discover all that the Perigord has to offer - you'll be amazed!
