Sleeps 5. 3 bedrooms cottage has been completely renovated and now makes a stylish and comfortable place for holidays and dogs are welcome too. Peaceful colours and stylish fabrics have been used to give a feeling of traditional quality and contemporary practicality. It is ideal for a family holiday for 5/6, but its cosy feel makes it perfect for a romantic hideaway, too. Its main features are an open plan kitchen/ dining room/ sitting room, fully equipped and with a log burner and door out into the garden leading to a further TV room/snug. There is a large utility and boot room with washing machine, tumble drier and fridge freezer and a downstairs loo and cloakroom. Upstairs there is a large master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room, a twin room next to the large family bathroom with separate shower and a further single room with additional pull out guest bed. Outside there is a large terraced garden with wonderful views from the top.
Come and stay in The Park or The Garden, two private wings of our historic manor or Fursdon Cottage, a Victorian estate cottage. We are happy to accept your dogs in the Cottage but regret that we cannot take dogs in the apartments of Fursdon House. Our holiday homes are set in a 750 acre country estate in glorious countryside, yet less than 30 mins from historic Exeter and attractive market towns,several National Trust properties and pretty villages with pubs. The self-catering Park and Garden Wings are on the first floor of Fursdon House with their own entrance. Fursdon Cottage is a stone cottage with a garden. It provides stylish yet characterful accommodation. The spacious Park Wing and Cottage enjoy spectacular views, while the Garden Wing looks out into a lovely walled garden. We provide logs for open fires and books to curl up with on comfy sofas. Your holiday home is equipped with crisp white cotton bedding and fluffy towels. David and Catriona have lived at Fursdon for over 30 years and David's family have owned Fursdon for over 750 years! They live here with Zola dog and an assortment of other animals and chickens. They love their piece of Devon and are happy to share it with holiday visitors. The welcome will be warm at Fursdon. Your comfort is important to Catriona - the apartments and the cottage are stylishly decorated and tastefully furnished. Crisp white cotton bedding is provided and luxuriously thick towels and tea towels. Eco-friendly washing products are also provided. Fursdon is in deep countryside, yet only half an hour from the bustling cathedral city of Exeter and very handy for both the north and south coasts of Devon and the two moors of Dartmoor and Exmoor.
Fursdon is unique - a traditional farming estate with wildlife all around, fabulous views wherever you look and the perfect place to relax and escape the pressures of everyday life.

Our changeover days are Fridays and Mondays. Bookings are accepted online at our website or you can telephone if you wish to discuss availability and make a provisional booking. A 25% deposit is needed to secure a booking with the balance due 4 weeks before the start of your holiday.
Changeover days at Fursdon are Fridays and Mondays and a booking runs from 2pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of leaving. We offer full weeks or short breaks, which are Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday.
Notes on prices:
Changeover days are Fridays and Mondays. We can offer a reduced rate in the Park Wing and Fursdon Cottage if it is Just for Two with use of the main bedroom and bathroom but not the other two bedrooms. This offer is not available in July and August and does not include bringing dogs to Fursdon Cottage. Short breaks are available in all properties changing over on Fridays or Mondays - 3 nights over a weekend and 4 nights mid week.
A forty minute drive will take you to the East Devon resorts of Ex-mouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth and the Torbay resorts of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. The North Devon surfing resorts of Saunton Sands and Croyde are an hour's drive. It is just over an hour to the pretty riverside resorts of Dartmouth and Salcombe.
The nearest airports are Exeter and Bristol are about 45 mins and just over an hour away respectively, where car hire can easily be arranged and is essential for getting to and from Fursdon. It is a 3 hour drive from Birmingham and 4 hour drive from London airports to Fursdon. We are 30 minutes from the M5 motorway junction 27. The lanes are narrow but very attractive to drive along.
The Cathedral city of Exeter is 10 miles away and the market towns of Tiverton and Crediton about 7 miles. Thorverton is the nearest village and is about 2 miles away. National Trust properties of Knightshayes and Killerton are within 10 miles
There are local shops in Thorverton and Silverton (4 miles) with all the large supermarkets in Tiverton and Exeter. Exeter is also a great city to shop in, with many individual shops as well as the chain stores. There are regular farmers markets in the area. Mid Devon is well served with pubs and restaurants, all being within a short drive. This county has some very fine restaurants, which are further away but well worth the drive if you want something special. We are well served with places of interest in the area, whether historic houses, castles park or gardens and plenty of places to take the children to as well.
