Lovely, dog friendly accommodation.
The Studio could not have been a better choice. It catered brilliantly for our dogs and provided everything we needed. It was warm, well equipped and was well situated for access to the moors, and despite the weather we still had a lovely time and we truely welcomed coming back to it after a hard day of wet walking! We also really liked the privacy and although the owners were on hand if we needed anything we were left to our own devices which was brilliant. Thanks for a lovely stay - oh, and the eggs!
Thank you for the lovely review! So glad you had a great time.
Great base for Moor and Coast
Booked The Pond House for a short 3 day stay due to attending a Family Christening in a near by village. Far better value than other local Hotels, B&B's etc for a 2 night or longer break. Very well equipped infact couldn't ask for more. Everything any party staying here could need is provided right down to towels, bedding and yep tea towels if you get roped in to washing up duty !!!!! A great choice very good value, pet friendly and easy access to Dartmoor, Plymouth for shopping and good eating and many other attractions. Excellent communication from owners and a warm welcome from the owners resident Springer, chickens and ducks. Cosy and warm and highly recommended. Oh and the eggs dont come any fresher than the ones Will kindly gave to us, fresh from the on site chickens. Thanks for a great few days. Good luck in the future its a great place you have.
Thank you so much for your lovely review! Really glad you both had such a great time.
Perfect piece of Paradise
This is my 3rd year at the Studio & I can't express enough how wonderful this place is, the setting is so tranquil & the dogs absolutely love it (almost as much as me) the setting so close to Dartmoor makes it ideal for anyone wishing to walk & see beautiful countryside. The owners are the perfect hosts they can't do enough for you & make you feel like part of the family. Already booked my 2015 :) can't wait. Highly recommended
Thank you so much Karen. You feel like part of the family now! Hoping to are you in October x
Cosy little sanctuary!
We've just got back from 4 nights in The Monkton Coach House. Even though we stayed during some of the worst weather to hit the south west, we were tucked up all cosy and warm with the log burner roaring away.
We didn't want for anything, the coach house had everything we needed to cook up three course meals each night.
Julie and William were really nice and there was no problem us turning up at 11pm - the lights and heating were left on for us which was very welcoming after 3hrs of dodging closed roads and floods on the way there.
Can't recommend this lovely little find enough.
So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We always try to make everything as we would like it! Thank you for your lovely review. Julie x
We fancied a quiet week walking, cycling and pottering, away from all the madness. The studio was warm and comfortable, enhanced by the visiting spaniel from the owners house. It is a great area for walks and bike rides and Tavistock is a lovely market town which we easily managed to spend a day pottering round. The London Inn in Horrabridge was very friendly with generous helpings of well priced good food. We would love to go back to explore a bit more. It actually has a sauna but we found it more useful as a wardrobe.
Lovely comfortable bed, good price - couldn't fault it and would definitely recommend it.
My husband and I stayed in the studio and fell in love with it and the area! So much to see and do and then to return to the peaceful, quiet, beautiful , secluded studio made our time there perfect! We have been telling all our friends about it and will definitely be back!
Thank you Tanya. It's so lovely to share our beautiful home and countryside, with people who love it as much as us! We really hope to see you guys sometime soon.

Distances: Plymouth is the nearest city and is just 12 miles away and it has a real metroploitan buzz. Steeped in history and linked to SIr Francis Drake and the Pilgrim Fathers, it also has a great harbour and lots of things to do. Check out the superb marine aquarium, go ice skating, or visit Drakes Shopping Mall. The village of Horrabridge is a 5 minute walk down the hill. The nearest town of Tavistock is a 10 minute drive. Further Details: Staying at Monkswell you will be in easy reach (3.0 miles) of visiting the dramatic landscapes of Dartmoor used in Steven Spielburgs latest film The War Horse. There are some excellent pubs nearby that include; The London Inn & the Leaping Salmon. Just a short drive away there are more great pubs including The quaint Whitchurch inn, the Peter Tavy Inn, Elephants Nest and a number more on Dartmoor. Lydford Gorge is one of Devon's gems...it's the deepest gorge in the whole of the south West, and it's surrounded by ancient woodland. The river Lyd at this stretch is fast flowing, and the gorge features two "must see" attractions - the White Lady Waterfall and Devil's Cauldron. Dartmoor is great for kids.
