Cottage in Frogham, New Forest, Hampshire, England - Ideal For Families And Those Who Love Walking

Bacons is situated in a lovely part of the New Forest and from the front gate you can walk straight onto the open heathland.There are many walks and cycle rides which are accessible from the cottage, without the need to drive. The original property is from the 17th century and was made of cob and the restored and extended in the 19th century. There is an original thatched building, built of cob- 'The Hovel' in the grounds. The village of Frogham has good pub, The Forrester's Arm, and a small 'village' shop. Bacons looks over Hyde common with its village school and cricket pitch. Full oil fired central heating, open fireplaces with logs provided. WiFi (unlimited BT broadband).

I live and work in London We have owned Bacons since 1991 and it has been a wonderful family home for the holidays.The children are now grown-up but we still like to come to Bacons for peace and quiet when we can!

We love walking, and the beauty of Bacon's position in the Forest, is that you can park the car outside and there is no need to drive again until it is time to leave.

Comfortable house in a beautiful location

Our 4th year here. Always a very relaxed and enjoyable stay. A wonderful place for the dogs too. We love sitting in the garden eating and drinking watching the donkeys and ponies go by.

An animal lover's heaven!

Our family which also comprised three grandchildren had a wonderful week in Frogham at 'Bacons'. The lovely big garden with an apple and a pear tree was a delight, not to mention seeing the donkeys over the gate, ponies just opposite, a bull not too far away, and even a deer that came to call fleetingly! The large dining room suited us very well and we found plenty of space for everything. The kitchen had all required utensils and we learned to get better at using the Aga! All in all, a terrific holiday location.

A lovely quiet break for three generations of my family.

Quiet cottage with lots of room and grounds for youngsters to safely play in, plus opens on the common so children can see the local wildlife. Lots of places to cycle or run locally and shops are 5 mins away.

Perfect cottage in perfect location

Just stayed at Bacons for a week with all my family and can just say good things. Cottage very comfortable and well equipped, lovely safe garden for the children. Lovely friendly pub within walking distance and just set in a beautiful, peaceful location. The ponies, donkeys & cattle were a bonus & the children were delighted to see them visit us daily!

I would definitely recommend this cottage for families with or without children & would certainly visit again in the future.

Friday, depart by 10am with arrival after 3pm.
Flexible change over between November and April.

Notes on prices:
Weekend and mid-week breaks are available outside the school holiday periods. The weekend price (2 or 3 night) are calculated at 70% of the weekend price. Discounts also considered for smaller groups.
