The property has three double rooms and is decorated to a very high standard. The village of Orford is close to the Suffolk coast and Snape Maltings home to the Aldeburgh Festival and galleries, shops and lovely walking country. The RSPB Minsmere is a few miles away and many other great bird watching places. You can sail from Orford out into the North Sea and wander up the East Anglian Coast. Being fairly flat it is great bicycling countryside along coastal paths or around the Suffolk lanes. Many local sites Suton Hoo, Framlingham with its Castle, Aldeburgh, Sothwold & Thorpness. The nearest golf course is Aldeburgh & Woodbridge which also has a large swimming pool.
I am in my 60's and have rented out properties in
both the UK & France for years, I try to give any
property a cosy welcoming feel & so far no complaints!

I live in France & lovely Orford in the winter. It is
a very special village with everything one needs, fish
from the shed on the quay, the best bread in Suffolk,
and Penny's post office & village shop. I have lived in
France for years & years but love coming back to
Mole Cottage, hope you enjoy it as well!
The area is great for walking, birding and of course
sailing and the sea. Suffolk really could be called a
'foodie' heaven, so many good Pubs & restaurants
all around. Nice market towns, such as Woodbridge,
Framlingham & Saxmundham, and the Coastal villages
Thorpness, Aldeburgh & Walberswick make it a really
nice part of the world.
"We love Orford & Mole Cottage and we'll be back!" Bailleys
"A very comfortable stay & great places to eat in Orford.. Sinclairs
A lovely well equipped home. Beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable.
Had a great few days. The local bakers, butchers and general store are excellent too. The children spent hours crabbing.
Ate in the jolly sailor and kings head.
Handy for Aldburgh and southwold.
We had a wonderful stay at Mole Cottage. Very well equipped and cosy house. Decorated beautifully. Very near the center of Orford, went to the Jolly Sailor for delicious dinner and there was lots of crabbing and wonderful walks. Great tennis courts and bikes to hire next door at the garage. All in all a fabulous stay for all ages and will definitely be back.!
Orford was an important fishing village in the Middle Ages & fresh fish, lobsters & crab can still be bought on the Quay. Shingle beaches at nearby Aldeburgh, with a large yachtclub with delicious food, Southwold's sandy beaches are 20miles
Stanstead is the nearest Airport about 1hr 1/2, trains from London Liverpool street to Woodbrige (20 minutes). There are local bus services but I would
recommend hiring a car to explore more freely.
Orford although an unspoilt village has pretty much everything from its Castle
to villlage store, with post office, cash point café & lovely fresh veggies.
Next door is the Pump Street Bakery, sour dough, croissants, Eccles cakes &
a little cafe serving very good snack lunches. There is a local market on Saturday morning with home made cakes, veg & fresh fish. Small shed sells daily newspapers & a few magazines. Pinnies smokery & shop near the Quay,
really no need to move!
