About Martin Smith
Hi My name is Martin, I started coming to Amble about 20 years ago with my two sons, fishing and boating was the main attraction for us. In 2007 I purchased Bay View, which was in need of a major face lift, so I set about the task in hand with a help from some friends. It was completed in 2009 and has been popular ever since. The son are grow up now, but when ever the house is empty we try are best to use it. Amble has changed over the years but the people are still freindly and helpfull

Special interest holidays: The properties location makes it a perfect seaside base on this central part of the Northumberland Heritage Coast. Ideal for walking and cycling the national cycle route is nearby. Wildlife including trips to the Farne Islands & Cocquet Island. Coast/Beach: The beach, called Little Shore, is outside the front door is about 20 meters away. At the end of the street is the North Sea and the Northumberland coast line with sandy beaches and rock pools. Travel: Newcastle International Airport is 30 miles DFDS ferry service out of the port of North Shields is 26 miles The nearest Station is Alnmouth which is on the east coast main line which is 4 miles away. Local buses run regularly to Newcastle town centre. Distances: It's a 5 mins walk to Amble Town centre with shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants Warkwarth is a mile away with its medieval castle Alnmouth is 4 miles and Alnwick is 9 miles away which is famous for its Castle, Hogwart's, The Alnwick Garden is a complex of formal gardens including the famous poison garden adjacent to Alnwick Castle. It is about 10 miles to Morpeth, the place to visit if you want stylish shopping and a rich history to explore the historic county town of Northumberland Further Details: This is a strictly no-smoking property. Booking Notes: The cottage is available all year round. Please note short breaks are available on request for the months of November, December, January & February excluding Christmas & New Year. Changeover Day: The preferred change over day is Friday, Arrival times are between 2 and 4 in the afternoon, arrangements can be made if outside these times, departure is no later 10 O'Clock in the morning (all the above times are flexibly please contact owner).
