Villa in Grantown-on-Spey, Scottish Highlands, Scotland - Quiet Location, Yet Within Walking Distance Of All Local Amenities And The River Spey. Rosemount is a large and spacious detached Victorian villa set in a secure 1/3 acre garden and grounds. Situated in Grantown-on-Spey, it is ideally located for all local amenities and yet on the doorstep of the beautiful 18th century Anagach Woods and the world famous River Spey. With comfort and luxury in mind, we completely refurbished our home in 2012/13. Rosemount comfortably sleeps 8 in 4 spacious bedrooms on the first floor. The ground floor consists of the lounge, snug, large open-plan kitchen / diner, utility room and well equipped games room including a brand new American Pool table, added summer 2016! There are 2 bathrooms, one with walk-in shower and the other with separate bath and walk-in shower. In addition to the newly installed oil-fired central heating we have two wood burning stoves. Rosemount is also our own much loved holiday home and we have furnished and equipped it to a standard that we always looked for when renting holiday homes in the past.

We wanted to invest in a holiday home and Rosemount was the house we fell in love with. We make the short trip up north as often as we can, but due to work commitments cannot live there permanently. We hope you enjoy holidaying in our home as much we do!

                                                            • Notes on accommodation: Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, extra £20 cleaning charge will apply. Strictly no smoking. In order to allow you the minimum of packing for a self-catering holiday, an initial supply of the following items will be available: Toilet rolls, hand wash, bleach, fairy liquid, kitchen cloth and dish towel, dishwasher tablets, salt, pepper, olive oil, tea, coffee, sugar and a locally sourced welcome pack to get your holiday started. From the solid oak flooring to granite worktops in the kitchen; natural stone tiled bathrooms with under floor heating and lighted steam free mirrors in the bathrooms; 1500 pocket sprung mattresses in leather beds to Egyptian cotton bedding in the bedrooms and brand new furnishings throughout the feeling of luxury in our home is apparent. Enjoy! Outside: The rear garden is enclosed and largely laid to lawn. Benched seating, dining table & chairs, BBQ, 11 foot trampoline and swing. Outhouses contain a selection of bikes for the renters use. Renter must check all facilities are safe for their own use and leave all items as they find them. Utility Room: Houses central heating system and boiler. AEG washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Pulley and sink. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Price includes wifi broadband, oil, electricity and initial basket of logs & coal. White fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bedding. Mid week clean is not included but can be arranged at extra cost to the renter. A grocery welcome pack is included. Other: The Games room is accessed directly from the kitchen/diner. This is a large room with sofa, swivel chair and bean bags. Smart TV with freesat, DVD player and Wii console with a selection of games. Football table. Selection of kids games, books, dvds.

                                                              We had a wonderful stay at Rosemount -clearly a much loved home with lots of attention to detail. We felt very much at home immediately with lovely touches such as ready set fires in the log burners and a great welcome hamper with the essentials and more. Right on the doorstep of woodland trails which was perfect for walking the dogs. We loved getting out and about but were secretly grateful for a rainy day so we could just cosy up in this house.                                                               Great holiday in a very nice home! Everything was clean and tidy. Spacious and convenient. Wi-Fi is working well, there are two TVs, a pool table and much more. Also Grantown is a good central spot to start exploring the Speyside and visit whisky distilleries. Will surely book again!

                                                              We had planned for more people to stay for longer so we rather rattled around this sizeable property. We are used to Scotland, so the weather didn't faze us, although on the whole I think we were lucky with it (Don't forget your waterproofs). We had our Labrador with us and the whole place was eminently suitable and dog friendly. The garden is now a tad small for the property but is plenty good enough for a short stay. We found lots of things to do, we walked the forest, up to the viewpoints, from Aviemore to Boat of Garten, up Cairngorm (no dogs allowed up the railway), and around the Osprey centre woods (although the dog wasn't allowed in the centre itself). The highlight of my stay was watching salmon leaping at the falls of Shin and also at Rogie falls - we were intending to go and see the Moray dolphins, but ran out of time. The Strathspey railway was useful for a rainy day, as were distillery tours. We visited Balmoral, and the scenery on the way was stunning! Ballater is a lovely town too. We also did a 4x4 experience on the Alvie estate near Aviemore. All in all we had a lovely holiday, and recommend the house and area to everyone.

                                                              The property is traditional but very nicely updated, thoughtfully equipped and a pleasure to stay in. The street is very quiet, the village has all the essentials you need and there are great places within easy reach in all directions.

                                                              For anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful country getaway this has it all. We loved our stay and wished we could have been there longer.

                                                              Coast/Beach: The nearest beach is Findhorn, a 45 minute drive away. Loch Morlich has a small beach and excellent sailing facilities on the Loch. Loch Eilein is beautiful and both are approximately within 25 minutes by car. Travel: Inverness Airport is approximately 50 minutes by car. A car is recommended to explore the surrounding areas, however Rosemount is conveniently located so that the local town of Grantown-on-Spey and the countryside are all within easy walking distance. Distances: River Spey 1/2 mile Carrbridge (Landmark) 7 miles Aviemore 12 miles Inverness 40 miles
