Roundtree Cottage is located in the upper part of Boscastle in the old High Street. This cosy C17th cottage has many original features, and garden on two levels with a decking area to make the best of the views. It is ideally situated with a short walk down Fore Street to Boscastle harbour with numerous shops pubs cafes, and beautiful walks via the coastal path over the cliffs. It is a short drive to some of the best known surfing/family beaches of the North Cornish coast eg Widemouth (7 miles north) Polzeath (south).The nearest beach is Trebarwith Strand just 12 mins drive. Other places of interest are Port Isaac - 10 miles Padstow 15 Miles and the Eden Project which is approx 50 mins drive.

There are several pubs in the village ('The Napoleon' being about 30 yards away) which offer evening meals with the occasional live music.

I have been holidaying in Cornwall all my life so have seen some little villages grow and grow and others stay exactly as I remember them. Cornwall is a lovely place to visit throughout the year. For me I love visiting in the spring when you experience the best of British weather ie sunny one day then it rains and if you are lucky it may even snow! Although its great sitting on a beach in the sun there is nothing better than being on the top of the cliffs with the wind blowing away the cobwebs and making your cheeks tingle.

Why Anne Sloan chose Boscastle

We purchased the Roundtree Cottage having fallen in love with it at first sight with its beautiful views, slate flagstone floors and beamed ceilings. It is ideally located in one of the oldest streets in Boscastle, has a beautiful terraced garden, and has it's own parking. Boscastle has everything you need on the doorstep, shops cafes and pubs/restaurants. I hope you enjoy staying here as much as win one of the oldest e do.

What makes this cottage unique

Undoubtedly the main features of this property are the traditional 'feel' it has with it's original features, and the views from the main rooms and garden. It is equally enjoyable in all weather, whether enjoying a sunset from the decking area in the garden, or putting on a log fire in the lounge when it is cold and raining. The location is very convenient for access to the village and local pubs, while being full of character and in a quite location with minimal traffic.

Lovely cottage in a wonderful village. Lots to do in surrounding area. A must visit is port Issac and the farm shop in Boscastle - cakes are amazing!

Lovely late Autumn break

Lovely cottage in Boscastle, great location for cliff path walks and the dogs loved it. A very cosy cottage for the two of us who just fancied a week away. The farm shop just outside the village is brilliant for sunday lunch (& other times too!) and the Paupers Supper at the Mill House Inn, Trebarwith is certainly worth a visit and the 15 mins drive to get there.

Delightful in every way

We spent two glorious weeks at Roundtree Cottage. From the moment we walked through the door - it felt like home. There was everything you would need, especially in the kitchen. As a keen cook it was a delight to have such a great environment to prepare meals featuring local ingredients.

The lounge was so the perfect comfortable room to wind down in the evening - particularly after busy days out walking or touring.

Talking of comfort - the beds were exceptional - aiding a good night's sleep to recharge.

The gardens and patios were a real bonus - whether it be the patio just outside the lounge - great for those wake-up coffees in the morning, or the top deck of the garden for those sun-downer gin and tonics!

The main bathroom upstairs was bright and cheery, like the rest of the cottage, and the shower downstairs was a great bonus too.

The location of the cottage is very good - it's at the very top of the village away from the hustle and bustle - and is ideally located for a walk to the Watch Tower which is on the coastal path from Boscastle to Tintagel. The walk down to the village and harbour is easy, the return trip can be a challenge (burn off the calories from the wonderful cream teas!). The Napolean pub just 100 yards away, is handy for those evenings when you don't want to cook or you just fancy a drink in your 'away from home' local.

We would not hesitate to recommend this first class property that is obviously cherished by it's owners. We look forward to a return visit!

Characterful cottage with lovely views

We spent a week here for a winter break and loved it - we're thinking of coming back next year. The cottage is modern and clean while retaining its historic charm. We spent the days exploring the coastline and came home to evenings curled up in the cosy lounge with a roaring fire, with a stack of DVDs they provided to keep us entertained. The best features are the fire, views from the bedroom and garden, roll top bath, flagstone floors, and huge range cooker! There is plenty of storage space if you're staying for a little longer like we were. Nearby, we enjoyed Tintagel castle, Rocky Valley waterfall, the Port William at Trebarwith Strand (book ahead!), the Cabin Cafe at Crackington Haven, sunset from the cliffs above The Strangles beach, and walking to Penally Point. Don't miss the cafe at the farm shop Boscastle - perfect for a pasty with a view after a walk on the South West Coastal path. The only thing you should be aware of it that it's a bit of a hike from Boscastle harbour/shops up the hill to the cottage. Fantastic value for a winter holiday!

Roundtree cottage is a beautiful old building with spectacular sea views from the windows and from the lovely terraced gardens. We loved staying here, and as it was a cold March we enjoyed cosying up in front of the log burner. The kitchen and bathroom were very well appointed. The beds were very comfy, we couldn't have asked for more, we would love to stay here again. Located in a very pretty coastal village protected by the National Trust surrounded by a spectacular coastal path. Boscastle has everything one needs by way of pubs and cafes serving food and has a grocery store.
