About Peter Noble
We are a couple of travellers (the picture is of us in Iceland!) who pootle about between London, Catalunya and Burgundy with plans to take in a 'Grand Tour' of Europe over the next few years. We used to run our own (very serious) business until we escaped in summer 2012. Now we want to have fun, learn as much as we can and just be ourselves. We love France and wanted a home where we can see, hear, touch, smell and taste superb wine being made. We have designed and created 10pm for ourselves, our friends and family and like-minded guests. We love, food, wine, history, learning stuff, comfy seats, comfy beds, power showers, great art, great music, thoughtful literature, creating our own cuisine, entertaining, having fun and having peace and quiet in a shady garden. We want our guests to be able to experience the magical things we love with a little more than the basic touristic experience. For us it is the small things that make a holiday magic - having a pheasant or red squirrel visit the garden, seeing the grapes being taken to Olivier Leflaive's winery to begin the wine making process, strolling down to the bread shop in the morning to get warm croissants, walking up the road to pay homage to the great Montrachet grapes (perhaps taking a bottle and some fresh cheese with us), popping literally next door to taste Jean Chartron's complex, beautifully balanced wines... this is life! Then, when we are feeling more energetic, we will hop into the car (or a taxi) and travel a few kilometers to experience more history, geology and Burgundian life in the many surrounding villages and small towns. If, like us, you want to be in the centre of things but not surrounded by a heaving, noisy, smelly circus, then this is the place for you. Stay with us and we can help you to make your holiday that little bit extra special!
Peter Noble purchased this House in 2007
Why Peter Noble chose Puligny-Montrachet
Authenticity, comfort, conviviality, convenience, proximity to great wines!... We created 10pm with luxury in mind. The "Raindance" showers and the beds are big enough even for really tall people (so our US guests tell us!), the beds have deep mattresses and luxury linens. The kitchen is designed for people who love to entertain, full of the equipment you might need. It is peaceful but in the centre of the most famous white wine villages in the world and within a stone's throw of all the action - perfect! As well as the large garden, we have an enormous raised terrace from which you can see mountain and vineyards of Montrachet - wow! Dining al-fresco is also really easy as the terrace is just off the kitchen. Then, when you decide to stir outside... If you want to experience a unique immersion in the culinary and vinicultural treasures that Burgundy has to offer, this is the place for you. Burgundy is the home of some of the best wines in the world, red and white. Just think of the names - Montrachet, Vosne Romanee, Chambolle Musigny, Pommard. It is like a roll call of fine wines. At 10pm we are so lucky to have the three sisters of classic white wines, Puligny, Chassagne and Meursault on our very doorstep. By merely walking down the road you will be able to visit the actual vineyards with all the history and geographical specificity they convey, and visit some of the finest winemakers in the world. Wine tastings will allow you to see the range and quality of the wines, and have fun too. Wonderful local restaurants offer the best there is to eat, whether you want fine dining or simpler fare. Charolais beef, burgundy snails, fabulous local cheeses, home made charcuterie - wow! Explore the food shops and street markets to find glorious seasonal produce for a picnic or to eat at home, indoors or al fresco. Cycling and walks in the vineyards are great fun too and there are specific routes promoted according to duration and difficulty
What makes this House unique
Hopefully our reviews will give you an idea of how we look after our guests. Why battle through the crowded tourist areas to get home and have crowds milling on your doorstep at all hours? But the neither do you want to be in a remote spot a bit too far from other people. In our village you get the best of both worlds and, most importantly, a true Burgundian experience! This experience is for people who want to see village life, sitting in the bistro or fine-wine bar next to the very people who make the wine, and also want the ability to spend active days without always having to get into a car. Our house combines an authentic Burgundian home with great comfort, modernity in the right places, friendliness and conviviality with a great location which means you are not far from anything. 10pm is only a couple of hundred metres from the very centre of Puligny Montrachet, which is steeped in history. Our neighbours are some of the best known winemakers in the world and you can visit many of them (on foot!) to taste their creations. And, without even having to get into your car, you can easily reach the boulangerie, the local epicerie (grocery), the fine-wine bars (caveaux), four restaurants (including two Michelin starred restaurants), and Olivier Leflaive's famous wine tasting lunch. Beaune is just 12 kilometers away and there are many more wonderful sights, tastes and experiences even nearer, such as the three Michelin starred Lameloise just a short car ride away. Walk or cycle through the vineyards to get close to the grapes growing in those famous named plots of land. Of course you can stay at home and take advantage of the grounds - a large lawn and our very own 'vin inch' at the back of the house. Guests of 10pm also have exclusive access to the guest-only pages of our website which gives you little insights into the area, the cuisine and other little bits of magic

Fabulous House to Explore Burgundy and Its Wines
One of best properties our family has ever stayed. We were a group of 6—2 adult couples and 2 grown children. We rented both the house & apartment.
1. Location, location location!!! In Puligny Montrachet the number one Chardonnay city in the world. Great restaurants and small quaint wine village surrounded by most amazing vineyards.
2. Perfect condition of the property. Main house with 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 first class en-suite bathrooms with fabulous showers. Each has individual AC units and radiator heating.
3. Kitchen made for cooking and eating and drinking. Wonderful Carefourmart in Chagny 5 minutes away for grocery. Chagny also has super fun Sunday market.
4. Connected Apartment was large for either a single person couple or family. 3 bedrooms, small kitchen and one bathroom
5. So close to fine dining. 3 great restaurants in walking distance in town and one 20 minute walk to another village. Where we ate great food--casual dress everywhere;
a. Michelin 3 star Lameloise in Chagny--as expected amazing experience in a formal but casual environment. No suit coats required. Great value but not cheap.
b. Le Montrachet in town 3 minute walk. Should regain its one star rating this year--everything was perfect
c. L Estaminet in town 3 minute walk. Great beef fondue and wine for cheap price. Just good local place.
d. Ed Em in Chassagne Montrachet. 4 minute drive and 20 minute walk. Excellent Michelin 1 star in quaint old house.
e. Midupi in Nolay for Sunday lunch--so much fun. Just a couple running a small restaurant in great old town. Nolay is about 15 minutes away.
6. Pascal Wagner, our personal wine tour guide, sommelier and wine expert. This was the highlight of our trip. Pascal met us the first day to plan out a wine tour for the week. We ended up doing things under his guidance on 4 days. Private wine tour and great winery next door. Day in Beaune and visit to Patriarche and great restaurant. He joined us for dinner at Michelin 3 star on our last night and served as our wine expert for the night. Cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Our goal was to understand Burgundy wines better and we could not have had a more amazing experience.
7. The owners, Peter and Lucy. Cannot say enough about how easy to work with and helpful they were. Booking was easy. Security deposit came right back. They provided excellent advice on restaurants and things to do. They truly love delighting
Thank you so very much for your fabulous, evocative, review!

10PM - A home from home experience in Puligny
Another brilliant stay at 10PM over Easter, the house abroad that I wish to own. Attention to detail and a generosity of spirit set Peter and Lucy apart as owners who care about their guests having a home from home experience. Bravo!
Amazing, Stunning Property in beautiful location.
When driving towards PulignyMontrachet after leaving the motorway you get a sense of how lovely it will be with the vineyards on both sides of the road. When you pull up outside the beautiful houses the first impression is Oh wow how lovely. When you get inside you are not disappointed. The house, nay home is beautifully decorated throughout to a very high standard but cosy and homely. We felt at home and relaxed straightaway. From there to visiting the local bistros and restaurants is only a short walk or drive to larger towns such as Beaune or Dijon. Cannot fault this property in any way, and Peter and Lucy are just on the end of the phone or email with helpful suggestions. Overall Fantastique.
Dear Dave and family,
Wow! What can we say?!
Thank you so much for your beautiful, evocative review - you have made us want to get in the car immediately and go back to 10pm (but we have to wait a week or so!)
You have captured what we love about 10pm and Puligny Montrachet and we can tell that you love them too.
You were exemplary guests and we do hope that you will return to 10pm in the not too distant future.
With our warm regards,
Peter and Lucy
Vacation of a Lifetime
From the moment we became interested in this property, the owners, Peter and Lucy were so prompt and gracious in answering all our questions. Their property easily accommodated all eight of us with all that we needed for a wonderful wine trip together. There is not one thing we would have changed with this home. We were able to relax on the patio or in the large yard. We had many a night sitting at the large dining room table drinking wine and discussing life. This home is located in a wonderful village with restaurants, bakery and a small store. A short walk through the city got us to the Grand Cru trail through all the beautiful vineyards. Peter and Lucy,
thank you for sharing your lovely home and being so attentive to all our needs!!
Mark and Donna Pearson

We really enjoy looking after our guests. Vacations are rare and special things, so we want to ensure that our guests have the best time that they can.
Thank you for being such fantastic guests. We hope to see you again in Puligny Montrachet in the not too distant future!
With warm regards,
Peter and Lucy
Second visit up to the standards of the first.
Second visit to 10PM with wine buying mates rather than family. Said mates suitably impressed as I knew they would be. Owners attentive and helpful as ever. Re-booked for April and May next year. Enough said........
Thank you so much for your short, but very sweet review!
We look forward to welcoming you back to 10pm soon.
With warm regards,
Peter and Lucy
From the moment I first inquired about a stay at 10pm, Peter and Lucy were the most gracious hosts. They have compiled so much helpful information about the home, nearby restaurants, things to do, and the area in general, that 10pm was a sure choice.
Booking was a breeze and, though we were not in town early enough, Peter and Lucy offered us the option of checking in early as the previous guests had gone the day before. When we did check in, Monia met us to give us the keys and a tour of the house. She speaks French but any questions are answered quite fully in the guestbook in the house. (really everything, even how to work the oven – complete with pictures). And we were met with the sweetest welcome basket and a bottle of wine. It’s those touches that made our stay feel like we were at home immediately upon arrival. And Peter called straight away to make sure everything was going smoothly.
The house is absolutely gorgeous. We were two couples traveling together so it was important that each of us had our privacy, while also having general areas to congregate. 10pm fit the bill perfectly. Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. (Towels, linens, and essentials provided). There’s also an additional bathroom with a beautiful claw foot tub for soaking. The spacious and well equipped modern kitchen and open living room area could be closed off to the two “back” bedrooms by a door. This provided and extra buffer from the shared space for any late sleepers. There was locked parking inside the gate, although the street parking was easy right in front of the house and perfectly safe.
The house was exceptionally clean, everything in great working order and Peter and Lucy have absolutely thought of everything! The views from the windows, or outside on the stunning terrace, or inside the lovely gardens – heaven. You are in your own wonderful sanctuary in this little town in the midst of Burgundy’s best vines. Add in two fantastic hosts and I’m not sure what more you could want!
I’d go back to Burgundy in a heartbeat, and I’d stay at 10pm without question.
What can we say?!
Thank you so much for your beautiful, comprehensive review! You have really got across what it is like to stay at 10pm and we are sure that potential future guests will find what you have written very useful.
You were exemplary guests and we hope to see you again at 10pm sometime soon.
With warm regards,
Peter and Lucy
In the heart of the World Heritage Site "Climats de Bourgogne", our very Burgundian but immensely comfortable holiday home, 10pm, is nestled in the highly prestigious, working wine village of Puligny Montrachet.
You will be living alongside some of the best wine makers in the world (including the lovely Jean-Michel Chartron whose Caveau is literally next door), close to the vineyards to which visitors from all over the world come to pay homage. You will be within walking distance of two Michelin starred restaurants, high quality wine bars and fab bistros.
You will be a mere 10 minute drive through the vineyards to the hustle and bustle (and tourist masses!) of Beaune, but will be able to come back to peace, quiet and space (both indoor and outdoor).
There are many historical and Oenological sites of interest within striking distance of our village. And the tastings available...!
You can do the "tourist bit" which is marvellous. But we can also help you to find one or two little gems that few others will find if they stay completely on the beaten track.
There are excellent connections from central Paris. It is also easily driveable from Paris, Lyon, Dijon and Geneva if you don't fancy Paris.
If you are serious wine lovers, interested learners or families/groups who want to do great things together but with enough space to chill out, 10pm in Puligny Montrachet is an ideal location in any season.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, even Winter (with some insider knowledge) in Burgundy is an absolute delight with lots of things to do, see and experience.
Puligny Montrachet is in the heart of the Burgundy wine region and is famed for producing the finest white wines in the world. In fact, as we said earlier, 10pm is next door to one of the best makers of Puligny Montrachet and other wines - Domaine Jean Chartron.
It is not an overly touristic village, so it is not noisy and hectic. But it is a working village, full of winemakers and so quite lively at times, with great local amenities.
As an optional extra, through our connections in the local wine business, you can have one or two experiences that are unique - visits to undiscovered winemakers, wine tastings at home (in our convivial open plan living room/kitchen) or in the vineyards, knowledge of local restaurants, wine makers and food producers that are currently 'on form' etc.
We are blessed to have two Michelin starred restaurants within walking distance of the house, Le Montrachet in our village and Ed Em in Chassagne Montrachet, a 30 minute stroll away through the vineyards. And the village Caveau de Puligny Montrachet ("the best Burgundy wine bar. Ever!") offers informal wine tastings of the finest selected local wines on their terrace.
Before we forget, and speaking of high class restaurants, Chagny, which is about three kilometers away, boasts one of the most famous restaurants in the world - the three starred Lameloise.
However, we must not forget that we are in France and the budget restaurants are very very fine too!
Our house is also a good centre for walking and cycling in the vineyards and around. An easy walk or ride away is Meursault, with its fabulous coloured roof tiled town hall.
Beaune is only 12 km away with its famous colourful Saturday market, the Hospices de Beaune, its beautiful architecture and its quaint, mainly pedestrianised, centre and some really interesting shopping.
Slightly further afield and well worth visiting are Chalon sur Saone (a lovely provincial town with a really good Sunday food market in the streets around the cathedral), Nolay (a small town with an historic centre and a medieval market building that must be seen), Santenay (a 'ville fleurie' with a lovely town square with a fabulous fountain, a casino and an outdoor swimming pool open in the summer months), the Cistercian Abbey of Citeaux. And of course you are just a short distance from some of the other famous names in Burgundy wine - Nuits Saint Georges, Pommard, Chambolle Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Vosne Romanee, Meursault, Chassagne Montrachet etc, which each have their own character and of course their own vignerons, many of which offer tastings.
We are still exploring the surrounding areas and constantly finding new and interesting things to see and do.
Also unique to 10pm is our website with guest-only areas which give you exclusive insights and tips which will make your stay that bit more special. What cheese to try? Which is the best charcuterie? Where is it? What is it best for? What's on in Burgundy at the moment?
All of these things make 10pm and Puligny Montrachet one of the best places to stay in Burgundy.
