About Helen Rogerson

My husband and I live in Suffolk with our three children.

Helen Rogerson purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Helen Rogerson chose Aldeburgh

Aldeburgh has always been a home from home for me, as my parents owned a holiday cottage around the corner from Charlotte's Cottage as far back as the sixties, and all our summers were spent here.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is ideally located for the beach, high street, tennis courts and sailing club which are all within easy walking distance. It's a great place for children and cycling, and with so many good restaurants, pubs and shops in the town there really is no need to get in the car.

Simple cottage very well equipped and excellent location

  • 4 of 5

This is a very old property and has been cleverly extended to include an upstairs toilet. This is a bonus as the stairs are quite steep, so not good to tackle in the middle of the night. It is located near the beach and also some essential shops (bakery, fish and chips and the pub). We found everything we required in the cottage, including some very useful information about the area. The owner was most helpful and communicative.

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a very comfortable cottage, very well equipped and ideally located on a lane which leads to the sea at one end and the high street at the other. We would highly recommend it.

Lovely cottage, excellent location

  • 4 of 5

This was a lovely cottage, clean and well provided with amenities including an excellent shower! Location at the end of the high street and seconds from the sea front is fantastic. Helen was very helpful and welcoming, she contacted us to ensure we knew how to turn on the heating when we had a significant drop in the outside temperature before we got round to asking which was thoughtful.

Aldeburgh itself is a lovely town with lots of wonderful independent shops. We made good use of the butcher particularly - excellent sausages!

A beautiful cottage in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is a gem. Really well-kitted out with all the things you need for a great seaside holiday. Bright and airy inside, deceptively proportioned and barely a stone's throw from the beach. Having the sunny front garden was really useful for drying wetsuits and swimming togs etc. We had a fantastic week staying in Charlotte's Cottage - this happy family of five will definitely be rebooking!

Perfect Aldeburgh beach cottage

  • 5 of 5

The perfect cottage in Aldeburgh, very tastfully done. Just feet away from the beach on a classic quiet lane. The size is deceptively big for a historic property like this. Very well equipped, including good wifi. Everything you could need. And owners (Helen) so helpful and pleasant.

It all made for a fantastic week, just as we wanted.

A real gem of a cottage

  • 5 of 5

I had high hopes of the property from looking at the online information and by receiving prompt and helpful communications from the owner. On arrival these hopes were surpassed by the excellent welcome and superb facilities within this charming old house.

Its location being so close to the seafront and to the town centre is ideal. On arrival the hand written welcome note and chocolate cake added a personal touch (this cake incidentally was gorgeous!).

We walked the 26 miles from Aldeburgh to Orford and back and had a very pleasant pub meal in the evening. There was plenty of space for us all in the house to either be together chatting or to seek a quiet corner for forty winks. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, Wifi is quickly becoming a 'must have' feature and this too was easily accessed.

The decor is modern with a lot of care to keep a homely and nostalgic feel. I simply can not find fault and thoroughly recommend Charlotte's cottage to anyone who wants to visit Aldeburgh. Well done and thank you to Helen for offering this lovely property.
