About JACQUELINE NICHOLSON
I live in England with my family. For the past ten years we have spent family holidays renting villas with friends and family in the South of France and have absolutely fallen in love with the area. We'd always dreamed of having our home in the Cote d'Azur one day, and when the opportunity arose last year we jumped at the chance. The villa has a great feel and is a wonderful social space, it is peaceful and secluded, but only a short drive to the buzz of St Tropez and the coast. La Garde Freinet is delightful, with its typically french village ambiance, we feel lucky to have stumbled accross such a gem.

Pool / Spa
Lovely, modern, spacious villa, great for families. Well equipped & well located to explore Provence
We spent 2 brilliant weeks here - the villa is well equipped with a lovely open plan living space and good bedrooms. The pool is fantastic and kept the boys entertained for hours. Great location - 25 mins from the beach and harbours on the south coast, but with lots of lovely pretty villages and vineyards nearby. Plenty to do - walking, canoeing, swimming, wandering around local towns etc and lots of info about the local area in the villa. Only negative thing to note is that the road is very windy and quite busy so you cannot really safely walk into the local town - you need to drive. Also as we were here for 2 weeks it would have been nice to have a mid-holiday clean / linen change, but this doesn't detract from this lovely place overall. Jackie was very helpful with tips and access information too.
Lovely setting for a relaxing family holiday, like having your own place
South facing, lots of sun, with beautiful view of La Garde Freinet which is a short drive away, a charming relaxing small town without the noise, traffic etc of St Tropez. Perfect layout for enjoying an easy holiday by the pool. Well located, well equipped and well maintained villa. Great barbecue area.Thoughtfully provided handbook/ local info. Efficient, conscientious and courteous support staff. Would not be suitable for small mobile children who can't swim due to close proximity of pool to house.
Port Grimaud, St Tropez, Sainte Maxime the coast and it's beautiful beaches are only 15 miles away.
The villa is 40 minutes from Toulon airport and just over an hour from Nice.
Car hire essential.
Three minute drive to La Garde Freinet, close to Port Grimaud, Grimaud, Ste. Maxime, St Tropez.
La Garde Freinet has a wonderful atmosphere with it's stone and shuttered buildings, restaurants, bars and an art gallery. There is a superb boulangerie selling fantastic almond croissants which are a must! There is also a wonderful butchers and wine merchant. There are many varied restaurants selling everything from international cuisine to takeaway pizzas. Dine outside in the beautiful, high end 'La Foucado', or enjoy the pavement restaurants selling food from fresh fish to Moroccan cuisine. In the village there is a post office, bank and cash point and a couple of small supermarkets for everyday essentials. There is a wonderful twice weekly market on a Sunday and Wednesday selling fresh, local produce including dried meat, cheeses, oils and cooked chicken as well as clothes and jewellery. There are also festivals and fetes throughout the year. La Garde Freinet is surrounded by cork and chestnut forests and you will be spoilt for places to visit, the local wineries just up the road for example are well worth the visit for the avid wine enthusiast. There is an excellent tourist information office in the town which can help you with an questions about the area.
