About the property

Converted Stable in Napton on the Hill, Warwickshire, England - Secluded, Rural Location Next To The Oxford Canal

Offers rural seclusion and a great base for gongoozling (canal watching!), walking and cycling. It is within easy driving to Stratford, the Cotswolds, Coventry Cathedral, Warwick Castle, Leamington Spa and National Trust properties.

The property is adjacent to the lock keepers cottage and was originally built for the horses used on the canal. The only other neighbours are sheep, although there is a traditional pub 100 metres away.

About Nigel Wood

The owner Nigel is a canal enthusiast which led him to the property in the first place.

Keen on all things steam, he occasionally crews on the Steam narrow Boat President on her trips away from the black country museum.

Other interests include cycling and motorcycling. Napton is a great base for doing both

Fabulous cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is absolutely gorgeous, and way prettier than the photos show. It is right beside the canal lock so you can watch boats going through, and a 2 min walk to the local pub which serves delicious food.

Nigel the host is very welcoming.

We shall return!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. I think I should get some better pictures. After 10 years of living here I am still fascinated by the boats going through the locks. The local pub is particularly welcoming and cosy this time of year with blazing log fires. Difficult to stay away! Look forward to welcoming you back. Nigel

Excellent conversion, lovely location, everything first class.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a short midweek break, plenty of walks for the dogs, and lots of places to visit locally.

Ate every night at "The Folly" good food and excellent staff, even midweek the place was busy, booking advised.

The owner Nigel introduced himself to make sure everything was ok and had left a welcoming bottle of wine,if we needed anything he was next door.

If your thinking of booking you will not be disappointed, highly recommended.
