Fabulous cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is absolutely gorgeous, and way prettier than the photos show. It is right beside the canal lock so you can watch boats going through, and a 2 min walk to the local pub which serves delicious food.

Nigel the host is very welcoming.

We shall return!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. I think I should get some better pictures. After 10 years of living here I am still fascinated by the boats going through the locks. The local pub is particularly welcoming and cosy this time of year with blazing log fires. Difficult to stay away! Look forward to welcoming you back. Nigel

Beautiful location, very cozy, comfortable cottage with amazing views.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 nights but will be back for more. Nigel is awesome, very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you possibly need. Beautiful canal walks on the doorstep ( map provided ) bed is very comfortable, the cottage is warm and cozy with absolutely brilliant surraondubgs. The Folly Inn is not even a minute walk away with delicious food, friendly staff and gorgeous variety of locally produced cider. The post office, where you can get everything, is about 10 minutes walk away. Petrol station is just down the road, about 3 minutes drive away. This is a perfect spot for relaxing and unwinding. Thank you so much for having us.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to meet you both and thanks for the super review. As you discovered, it's a great place to relax and unwind, and also in the nearby Folly Pub - it's everything you expect a country pub to be. Summer evenings can be very interesting with narrow boat crews from all over the world enjoying a drink and a meal. I look forward to greeting you here again. Best wishes, Nigel

Perfect dog friendly cottage

  • 5 of 5

A really lovely, warm and spotlessly clean cottage with loads of space for two people and two dogs. Nice canal walks and great meals at the local dog friendly pub. Good for quiet times by the fire and also easy day tripping distance to Coventry, Stratford and other spots. Would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind comments. I am really pleased that you enjoyed your stay here. As you say, good for quiet, but handy for day trips. You discovered the local pub (The Folly) which is, to me, just how a pub should be; warm, friendly, quirky and it sells decent beer! You are most welcome to visit again. Regards, Nigel

The cottage was so cosy and comfortable, and so close to great places to visit. Highly recommended.

It was idea placel for our short stay. Very comfortable but the amenities were modern and everything worked well. We lit the burner one evening and the heat from it would melt a snowman, ideal for cold winter evenings. Nigel was welcoming and very obliging, thanks for the wine btw, it was lovely. Ideal spot for sightseeing and wished we had spent more time to walk along the canal but time wasn’t on our side. We’d love to go back.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review Denise. So that's what happened to my snowman, you melted it with the log burner! It does kick the heat out, although with the underfloor heating the log burner is a "nice to have" rather than a necessity. It does make for a very relaxing atmosphere. I would be pleased to welcome you back here anytime. Best wishes, Nigel.
