Sunbeam Cottage in Branscombe, South Devon. - A peaceful location close to the village pub and only a leisurely ten minute stroll to the beach.

A delightful wisteria clad cottage located in the heart of the popular village of Branscombe. The area is ideal for beachcombers and walkers with the nearby beach backed by magnificent cliffs with coastal paths to Beer and Sidmouth. Branscombe is famous for being situated on the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Coastline. The village is set in a beautiful valley meandering down to the sea, surrounded by National Trust land. The cottage boasts a wealth of character and is beautifully furnished with antique items mixed with Persian rugs and designer soft furnishings. The property benefits from larger than expected front and back gardens with patio areas for dining alfresco. The property is accessed from the road by five stone steps, with a stream flowing beneath, and entering through a hedging archway into the front garden, which incorporates a rockery. The charming kitchen incorporates a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, oven, hob and is fully equipped.

Towels / Linen: The beds will be made up and we leave a bath sheet and bath towel per person. Please take your own beach towels. Well behaved Dogs are accepted at an additional cost of £30 per pet, per week or short break booking.

Coast/Beach:

Sunbeam cottage is located 150 yards from the renowned Masons Arms Inn, on a no through road, which leads to a footpath, only taking about ten minutes to stroll down to Branscombe Beach.

Bicton Park and Gardens: Spanning nearly 300 years of horticultural history, these magnificent grade 1 listed gardens are set in East Devon's picturesque Otter Valley, between the ancient city of Exeter and south west England's Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The superbly landscaped park combines 18th century tranquillity with modern amenities to provide all year round enjoyment for everyone of all ages including historic glasshouses, a countryside museum, the Bicton Woodland Railway train ride, nature trail, maze, mini golf, indoor and outdoor children’s play complexes, restaurant and shop.

Pecorama: Magnificent gardens, Children’s Entertainment, Model railway Exhibition and Beer Heights Light Railway.

Beer Quarry Caves: The caves have a long and interesting history which not only includes quarrying, but also as a refuge and place of worship for Catholics during times of persecution, a hiding place for contraband in the days when Beer was home to the infamous smuggler Jack Rattenbury. The quarry was worked from Roman times until the beginning of the 20th. century and the entire complex is a vast memorial to those from the village some as young as eight years old who worked here over the centuries in flickering candlelight, providing the stone we see today in some of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in England.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of a third of the full amount will be needed when the booking is made with the final balance due 6 weeks prior to the commencement date.

Generally short breaks are accepted from October – end of March but we will accept a short break booking in the high season, if we have availability close to the time.

Changeover Day:
During the mid - high season the change over day is a SATURDAY. However it can vary during the low season as short breaks of 2, 3, and 4 nights are accepted.

Notes on prices:
Short break prices are calculated on a percentage basis, taking into account maximum occupancy e.g. 2 nights - 75%, 3 nights – 80% and 4 nights – 85% of the full weekly price and 5 – 7 nights will cost the full weekly price
Please note that the full price includes electricity, central heating, bed linen, towels and VAT.

The deposit needed at the point of booking is a third of the full amount and the final balance is due 6 weeks prior to the commencement date.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

Please ask the owner or check their rental agreement when booking the property.
