Shepherds Patch cottage is situated in the heart of the quaint village of Thurlestone and being set back from the main road is an ideal venue for those who wish to be within easy reach of the beach but still enjoy the quiet and peaceful village life. At the end of the road there is a Village Inn offering fine ales and good home cooked food and opposite a small post office with a well stocked shop. The property has been refurbished to a high standard and now benefits from light and spacious rooms all of which are beautifully presented brimming with home comforts and quality furnishings and offering accommodation for up to 10 guests. Accessed from the lounge is a fully glazed conservatory which is a perfect area for relaxing late into the summer evenings, the doors open onto a patio and a secluded garden with table and chairs suitable for al-fresco breakfasts, afternoon tea or a late evening glass of wine. Well behaved dogs welcome at an additional cost of £25 per pet, per week.

We are a small family business specialising in producing comfortable 'home from home' type holiday cottages in Cornwall, Devon and the Cotswolds. Each of our properties featured are owned and managed by ourselves. The benefit of this is that we know each property personally and this helps us provide a better service. Many of our guests return on a regular basis and some come by recommendation. Coast/Beach:

There are two main beaches at Thurlestone. The smaller of these, Thurlestone Sands, is near to Thurlestone Golf Club and at the southern end of the beach, you can explore the rock pools around the spectacular arched rock to which the village owes its name. The larger beach is further along the coast in the direction of South Milton. Both have fine shingle and sand coverings and are in sheltered locations.

The beaches and superb Thurlestone Golf course are a ten to fifteen minute stroll away.

Travel:

The nearest Airport is Plymouth - 15 miles.

Distances:

At the end of the road there is a Village Inn offering fine ales and good home cooked food and opposite a small post office with a well stocked shop.

Further Details:

Towns and villages which are not too far away and worth a visit are:

Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Totnes, Dittisham, Blackawton, kingswear, Strete, Torcross and Modbury. Paignton Zoo is popoular for children and Stoke Flemimg benefits from spectacular sea views and an award winning beach.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of a third of the full amount will be needed when the booking is made with the final balance due 6 weeks prior to the commencement date.

Generally short breaks are accepted from October – end of March but we will accept a short break booking in the high season, if we have availability close to the time.

Changeover Day:
During the mid to low season (October - March) short breaks of 2, 3 or 4 nights are accepted. During the high season the changeover day is a SATURDAY.

Notes on prices:
Short break prices are calculated on a percentage basis, taking into account maximum occupancy e.g. 2 nights - 75%, 3 nights – 80% and 4 nights – 85% of the full weekly price and 5 – 7 nights will cost the full weekly price
Please note that the full price includes electricity, central heating, bed linen, towels and VAT.

Outside: Outside the enclosed garden enjoys secluded privacy and has been well stocked with a variety of plants and shrubs. There is a small lawned area, a patio with furniture for dining alfresco. There is only one allocated parking space however additional parking is available nearby in the village. Well behaved Dogs are accepted at an additional cost of £30 per pet, per week or short break booking. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The beds will be made up and there will be a bath sheet and a bath towel for each person. Please note we do ask you to take your own beach towels.
