Overview

Tarent Villa Rental Photos and Description

Beautiful three bedroom Trullo with private solar heated infinity pool & Wifi

Trullo Olivia sits in an acre of it's own grounds surrounded by olive, almond and cherry trees. Situated on a hilltop a few kilometres from Alberobello, the magnificently renovated trullo is in a peaceful location with beautiful views all around. Outside the trullo boasts a private 50 sq.metre kidney shaped solar heated swimming pool on the extensive private terrace and gazebo area. The barbeque sits underneath an arbour with sun loungers, occasional tables and hammocks ensuring guests enjoy lazy days in the beautiful Italian sunshine.

The main cone of the trullo forms the lounge with comfortable leather seating, leading to the dining alcove and fully equipped kitchen. One of the three attractive and comfortable bedrooms enjoys an ensuite shower room with the remaining two bedrooms sharing the unusual yet completely functional shower room built into the original oven.

Trullo Olivia is in a very rural position in the Itria Valley but only 5km from Alberobello the main town of the trulli region where there are many shops, banks, bars and superb restaurants. It sits on a quiet road with virtually no passing traffic so very safe especially for families with young children.

The views across the valley are stunning and from the trullo walking is a pleasant pastime.

There are many local towns to visit apart from Alberobello - Locorotondo, Martina Franca and further afield Ostuni & Lecce. All these towns have wonderful historic centres. The Adriatic Coast is around a 30 minute drive where there are many beaches public & private.

There are wonderful caves at Castellana, the amazing cave houses at Matera and zoo safari at Fasano - something for everyone. Or of course as many guests do just laze around the pool totally relaxing.

There are guide books and lots of information in the trullo to assist our guests during their stay.

Chris who lives and works in Alberobello takes care of the day to day running of Olivia. He is very friendly and informative about the local area, meets all guests on arrival in Alberobello, accompanies them to the trullo and is available throughout the holiday should he be needed.

Complementary Wifi is available inside and outside the trullo.

Beautiful landscape and setting

  • 5 of 5

The stay at Trullo Olivia was very pleasant. The sorroudings are very quit and extremely beautiful. The pool and garden was great and everything worked excellent in terms of logistics and interactions with the owners. There is plenty to do, experience and eat close by. The house it self is very beutiful and authentic albeit nice standard up to date.

Great holidays!

  • 5 of 5

We went to this fantastic part of Italy which is on top of beautiful beaches, rich of so many treasures (cavern, old cities, white villages, etc...). We did visit the region on a daily basis and were so happy to come back to the trullo for a great stay! The trullo is well located in the countryside of the Alberobello city (Trulo's HQ!). For a family trip (3 adults and 2 children), the trullo is perfect: quiet location, fully equipped and comfortable! Do not hesitate to swim or enjoy a BBQ party. Alison will welcome you and will provide you good plans (restaurants, etc...).

Jan (the owner) will take care of you! Thank you Jan for the local wine! ;-)

Thank you Jan and Alison for these great holidays!

See you soon and be sure that we will share this good plan with our friends, family, etc...!

François

PS: I definitely advice you to go the restaurant "Gli Ulivi" Cda popoleto, 15 (local food - best pizzas (take away option as well) and very good traditional dishes). You will meet local people and the owner can speak French and English!

Magical trullo in alberabello

  • 5 of 5

From enquiring about availability the owners Jan and Bob were very helpful. You can email them and get a reply quickly. Travel arrangements to get to the villa were really good. We were met by Chris who took us to the villa and showed us around.. We went with son, daughter , their partners and our 10 month grand daughter, Jan had supplied travel cot, high chair, and baby bath. The vill was clean, well presented, the small kitchen had everything you would need, I baked bread every day, there was a good sized BBQ in the grounds, enough cutlery, glasses plates etc. Wi if is free and you can pick this up from around the pool area, the pool starts off shallow and gets very deep to allow for diving, a bit cold for us but the weather was on the cool side when we stayed, if hot there are fans in each bedroom. The lounge has a good sized TV with plenty of adult and child DVDs. The bedrooms are all very good size with net and bars over windows for insect control and security. Our party found it quite funny on rainy nights you'd get millapeads in the bathroom and quaint tiny scorpions that are not a threat at all, just less than a centimetre but great to see. The villa is very central, supermarket near by

, but you are pretty much away from it all, there is one villa near by,but that's it, just fields of olive trees and beautiful nature, loved our holiday, would book again in an instant. Photos are true, well maintained, Alberabello near by and great for restaurants, although we cooked 6 out of 7 nights and used the BBQ. So much to see and do couldn't do it all in a week.

Thanks Jan

Beautiful, Peaceful and perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful internally and externally. The location itself is so peaceful but is very central to get to any of the places you want to go (just a drive away). Alberobello is a beautiful town and only 5 minutes down the road. We also went to the Caves, zoosafari and the beach. All of which were lovely, the people are lovely and also Chris and his wife Alison (who look after the Trullo) are so helpful, anything you need just give them a call and they will help as much as possible.

I would highly recommend this place for a family get away or even a group get away it is perfect in every way.

Cath xx

All we'd hoped for - but with a little less sun!

  • 5 of 5

We had a thoroughly enjoyable week at Trullo Olivia which exceeded our expectations. The trullo and its outdoor spaces are great. Rooms are comfortable and it was wonderful to sleep in complete darkness with the shutters closed! The trullo is very well-equipped, well maintained and everywhere was clean. Regular contact with the owner before our holiday made us feel that we were valued 'customers' and Jan readily replied to any queries we had. Unfortunately, the weather was not as good as we'd hoped for but we knew it could be erratic at this time of year and were well-prepared with warmer clothes and plenty of books. There were also games, DVDs and CDs to add to the family entertainment. Instead of lounging around by the pool as much as we may have liked, we visited a number of lovely places in the area including Matera (well-worth a visit) and enjoyed Puglia, it's countryside, sea-side, hill-top villages, food and wine! Thank you to the owners and the local team who met us, bought shopping and enabled us to be flexible on our leaving time because there was no booking the next day! Holiday heaven

  • 5 of 5

We had the most fantastic time at Trullo Olivia. Jan and Rob were so helpful before we arrived and having Chris and Alison to help with any questions or queries while we were there was fantastic too. The villa was beautiful, the surroundings stunning and the weather was excellent the entire time we were there. It was so amazingly quiet and peaceful as it was away from the main town of Alberobello that for the first time in 2 years we got our 2 year old sleeping for a full 12 hours a night - bliss! The great thing was it was also only a 10 minute drive to Alberobello town, which was beautiful and had some amazing restaurants and trulli to visit. All the bedrooms were great sizes and we cooked either on the BBQ or indoors almost every night and we had all the kitchenware we needed to do this! The pool was fantastic and my son and husband spent most of the two weeks either in it or around it and we even had someone come to clean it while we were there. We also had cleaners change the bedding and clean the bathrooms too which was much appreciated. We found it to be a perfect location for getting out and about to see the sights of Puglia and managed to explore Locorotonda, Alberobello, Martina Franca, Torre Canne and Fason in our time there. It was a 40 minute drive to the Zoo Safari which was a massive highlight of the stay - the animals were amazing and all looked very healthy and well looked after and we found am amazing restaurant on our drive back through Fasano which really toppoed off the day trip. Martina Franca was also another favourite - the old town was absolutely stunning and we found an amazing restaurant in the main piazza which served the local delicacy of fava beans and chicory - i can't recommend the restaurant and the dish enough! My favourite part was sitting under the canopy area every night with a glass of wine, watching the swallows diving to take a drink from the pool and the amazing sunsets we got - absolutely divine! We've already raved about our stay to anyone that'll listen, and i couldn't recommend staying at Trullo Olivia enough, it had everything we wanted and more. Thanks again to Jan and Rob!

Puglia stretches from the stiletto of Italy's heel to the spur further up the boot and has a sunny Mediterranean climate. The region is very 'Italian' and boasts over 50 million olive trees producing 10% of the world's olive oil. It is also the largest wine producing area with vineyards in abundance.

Trullo Olivia is situated in Capo di Gallo, a few km from Alberobello, the main town of the Trulli region. Home to around 1400 Trulli clustered together forming narrow cobbled streets; there are many excellent restaurants, bars and shops selling local handicrafts.

Alberobello lies in the picturesque Itria valley and is a facinating town to explore, market day is a must. Locorotondo and Martina Franca a short drive with Ostuni a little further away. The rocky Adriatic coast is around 20 km to the east with small sandy inlets, crystal clear water and many wonderful seafood restaurants overlooking the sea. The Ionian coast is around 50 km away and has long sandy beaches worth exploring

Other Activities: bird watching
