Having holidayed in Barbados for a number of years, and thoroughly enjoyed it, in 2004 we decided to try Tobago. We immediately fell in love with the island and before our two week holiday was over had put down our deposit on Villa Cluster 30a.
Each year since we have holidayed in Tobago three times a year. It is our heaven on earth. Nigel loves golf and plays the course regularly, Gay hates golf and loves lazing around the pool reading. We both love pottering around the island, eating and drinking al fresco either at the villa or at one of the numerous quality restaurants and bars.
Tobago is unspoilt beauty, the locals are friendly and laid back. It is the antithesis to flash and busy.
We hope you choose to go to Tobago and enjoy our villa, that also gives us great enjoyment.
Villa Cluster 30a is within a secure gated community just ten minutes from the airport.
It has its own pool (heated if necessary), sun deck and a beautiful garden full of tropical vegetation.
It is 5 minutes stroll to an uncrowded mile long golden sandy beach.
It is 5 minutes stroll to the 4 star Magdalena Grand Beach Resort with its beach bars, pools and restaurants.
It has good speed internet access.
Cable TV in bedrooms and living area.
We can arrange very competitive car hire who will either meet and greet at the airport or at the villa at your convenience.
Villa Cluster 30a is not a big villa but is well -proportioned to suit one or two couples.
VC 30a is suitable for golfers, water sports enthusiasts, eco-tourists and those just wanting to chill out in this idyllic island.
'The sign at the entrance to the Tobago Plantations Beach and Golf Resort, where this lovely villa is situated, welcomes you to paradise, unusually this is no exaggeration'
'We had a wonderful fortnight at 30a Villa Clusters and cannot speak highly enough of the facilities offered'
'We can thoroughly recommend this property, we have already booked to return there next year'
On arrival at Tobago Airport we were met by Roger, as was arranged with Nigel. A very nice man, who, because we were so tired, drove us the 15 minute drive to Tobago Plantations. He then left us alone, with the car and our holiday started. Roger returned the next morning to do the paperwork. The next two weeks were then spent exploring this tiny but very full Island. The base at Magdalena could not possibly have been better. The villa is big, clean, air-conditioned, and contains everything you need to live. The fridge holds Looooads of beer and food too. The pool is brilliant at 6 AM (10.00 UK time) and you still have the day to mooch around to your hearts content. WiFi is available to plan the days moochin. Petrol is about 50p per litre and the car is unlimited use. The site is beautifully manicured and open peaceful surroundings with lots of birds, dragon flies and chit chats.
All in all, whatever else happens on this tiny Isle, you CANNOT beat this location.
Thank you Nigel, Gay and Roger.
My sister, mother and I stayed in this beautiful villa for 7 days while in Tobago for my brother's wedding. The wedding was at the Magdalena Grand Resort which was literally MINUTES away. The property is right by the water and very well maintained and secure. The villa was the perfect size for the three of us and very comfortable. The pool is warm maintained once or twice a week. The outdoor restroom and laundry facility are very convenient. The location is just off the main highway so it was really easy to make our way around town even witout knowing exactly where we were heading. Make your way to the market and or grocery store on the list and enjoy fresh produce from the stands on the side of the highway.
The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies and there are even books to read out by the pool. Extremely considerate.
Roger is great!! He met us on time and the car was gased and ready to go. He even allowed us time to get ourselves together before taking the payment. He came by the next day to do paperwork and particulars.
We had a little bit of trouble with lighting the gas grill but it eventually lit and we had steaks and shrimp out on the patio by the pool that night.
Just returned from vacation at Villa Cluster 30A in Tobago and I am happy to say that the villa was perfect in every way for our vacation. Nigel arranged for Roger to meet us at the airport and for the rental car from him. He was on time and gave me the car at the airport without taking any money until the following day at the villa. A very pleasant gentleman to deal with. The villa is well equipped with all the amenities and has a nice BBQ grill which we used on more than one occasion. The location is great and safe. Had no problem getting around. I was born in Tobago.
The accommodation is very comfortable and is well equipped to a high standard. There's a great plunge pool and BBQ too.
The location is excellent - a short drive from great beaches at Pigeon Point and over on the Caribbean side of the island (good snorkelling at Mount Irvine Beach Facitlity for example), shops and many of the highly rated restaurants on the island. Car hire is essential and Nigel's suggestion of using Roger Harris worked perfectly - he's a real gentleman and the costs were reasonable.
Nigel provides you with a lot of useful information for your stay and there's an additional excellent resource at mytobago.info but here's a few extra tips:
Rosie's Bakery in Bon Accord does great carrot and coconut bread, pies and cakes; Nigel suggests Golden Grove Farm for your meat and we agree! - don't be put off by the location, we had some of the best ribeye steaks we've ever eaten from there (BBQ'd at the villa); for an extended hours supermarket avoid Canaan Food Basket who overcharged us and head for Lowlands Mall, there's a good in-store bakery too. As for restaurants just let TripAdvisor guide you and you won't go wrong.
Overall an excellent choice of accommodation which we highly recommend.
We have just returned from our 6-weeks holiday at the lovely Villa Cluster 30A. What a great holiday. From the initial enquiry for the property, Nigel and Gay (property owners) were so helpful. Nigel kindly arranged for us to be met on arrival at Tobago airport by Nigel Harris who handed over our hire car and we then followed him to the villa. Villa Cluster 30A is very well appointed with all modern facilities, is comfortable, with a superb private swimming pool. For the golfer, the course at The Tobago Plantations Beach and Golf Resort is well maintained and challenging with plenty of water and hazards. During our stay we found a number of reasonably priced restaurants within 15-20 minute drive from the villa. If you are looking for a self catering holiday which can offer peace and quite, golf, and is reasonably close to shops, beaches and restaurants, Villa Cluster 30A is well worth an enquiry. We would certainly recommend this villa to family and friends.
My friend and I went to Tobago as part of a wedding party. We decided to hire this villa instead of staying at the Magdalena hotel which is under a 10 walk minute away) as we were going to be on the island for 7 nights and we like the independence that a villa brings. Nigel was very helpful when we were booking the villa as nothing was too much trouble for him to arrange. The management company were very friendly/helpful on our arrival when we picked up/dropped off the keys. The villa's description is very accurate. We found it a peaceful location. It totally exceeded our expectations as it was very clean, amazingly spacious, well stocked with towels, books etc. and it was maintained to a very high standard. The kitchen was fully equipped with all mod cons - we ate in a few evenings before heading up to the hotel to meet up with some of the wedding party. The pool was definitely a bonus especially at the end of the day for a quick dip when we arrived back from various wedding party excursions and especially when it was illuminated at night when we ate al fresco and enjoyed our favourite tipple. The only downside was that we decided not to hire a car (Nigel, you were right) as the villa is a far distance from the main entrance. Thankfully, the hotel reception arranged for a taxi to take us into town to do a shop. Among the many excursions we did, we also did a tour of the island. Our driver Stirling, who Nigel arranged for our airport transfer was available for this tour and he was a font of knowledge about the island. The island is idyllic and the beaches we went to are stunningly beautiful (we mainly went to Pigeon Point). My friend and I had a fabulous time and felt totally relaxed before we headed to our next destination, Antigua. We would definitely rent this villa again as well as recommending Tobago and this villa to family and friends.

Tobago is a very popular diving location. The island has some of the best diving sites in the Caribbean. There are 3 wrecks located around its shores and the waters are home to many spcies of tropical fish, rays and turtles.
The Tobago Forest Reserve claims to be the oldest protected forest in the western world.
This forested area has great biodiversity including many species of birds (including the dancing blue-backed manakin), mammals, frogs, (nonpoisonous) snakes, butterflies and other invertebrates. It is one of the most approachable areas of rainforest, since it is relatively small and there are government-appointed guides who provide an authoritative guiding service through the forest at a reasonable cost. The guides are knowledgeable about the plants and the animals, and can call down rare and exotic birds from the canopy by imitating their calls.
Tobago also has nesting beaches for the leatherback turtle, which come to shore between April and July.
Tobago Plantations is blessed with a mile long un-crowded golden sandy beach which is a short 5 minute stroll in flip flops and swim wear from the villa.

Tobago Plantations is just a 10 minute drive from Tobago's Crown Point airport. So after collecting your bags at arrivals you will very soon be 'home' and enjoying the villa's facilities.
You will need a car and this can be arranged for you. Typically the cost is around £25 per day. Petrol is very cheap in Tobago. You can pick up the car at arrivals or it will be delivered to the villa at your convenience.
