About Barry Morris
I live in England with my wife, two children, dog and two cats. My wife and I both work but enjoy taking our holidays in Spain for the weather, food and way of life and the West Country for peace and tranquility.
Barry Morris purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Barry Morris chose Plymouth
Only a few minutes away from the A38 (the dual carriageway road that runs across Devon) but in the countryside - that is one of the great benefits of Warleigh Lodge. Cornwall is 10 minutes away, Dartmoor is 10 minutes away, Plymouth Town Centre is 20 minutes away and we can get to The Eden Project in an hour. Golf courses abound locally, National Trust and English Heritage properties are all within easy reach. Water sports, archery, go kart racing, steam railways are all in this area. There are also some famous beaches nearby. But most of all, is the peace and tranquility.
What makes this Cottage unique
Peace and tranquility in a property that has character. Views of the across rolling countryside on 3 sides of the Lodge. In the mornings you awake to birdsong. Breakfast in the new conservatory looking across the river or enjoy a glass of wine of an evening and watch the sunset - your choice. In the winter, warm yourself in front of the roaring log fire in the lounge.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Great place to stay, lovely views, definitely recommend!
Thank you for the nice comments - very much appreciated
Regular visitor. I love Warleigh so much. Perfectly placed for rest, activities or just soaking up the beautiful view from the garden.
Charming property - beautiful view! Highly recommended.
We had a very enjoyable weekend stay in this charming property which is well situated between the city attractions of Plymouth and the rugged beauty of rural Dartmoor. Our host Barry had been very helpful before the trip and there was also local help if needed.. The property was spotless on arrival, and the heating was easy to operate and effective.
The lodge was comfortable and well equipped. Lovely bath in the main en-suite, and we slept well in the four poster bed!
But the main "Wow" factor for the Lodge is the large conservatory/dining room set at the back of the house which provides sensational views of endless fields stretching down to the River Tamar and beyond to Cornwall. We spent most of our time in this room watching farm and wild life, but, given the time of year,we were happy to retreat to the cosy fire in the sitting room once darkness fell.
We enjoyed trips to Tavistock, Lydford Gorge and Brentor Church and were grateful to exercise our dogs straight onto a public footpath that runs from the front of the Lodge
Thank you Barry - we hope to visit again.
Thak you so much for your comments - they are very much appreciated. When I added the conservatory, I did not realise until after it was built, that it does transform the whole house. When we visit we spend all our time in the conservatory and because of the extra heating, we have actually watched snow come down outside, whilst we have been warm and cosy inside the conservatory.

Beautiful house, well equipped, perfect.
A beautiful cottage with outstanding views
We spent a long weekend enjoying the wonderful countryside in the knowledge we would return to a beautiful, snug cottage to rest in-front of a roaring log fire.
The weather did not really matter as we would have been happy to stay in and read and enjoy the great views from the cottage.
One for our return list!
Many thanks for your comments. The conservatory has transformed the whole house. In the summer we open the doors all the way back and all you can hear is birdsong.

A beautiful semi rural cottage with wonderful views and close to everything you need.
We spent 10 days at Warleigh Lodge as part of an extended European holiday , stopping in Plymouth to visit relatives and to share Christmas and New year.
The conservatory served as an ideal area to serve and enjoy Christmas lunch for seven.Overlooking the adjoining farmland towards the Tamar river it was a very picturesque setting with Pheasants and turtle doves adding to the Christmas feel.
The conservatory was very warm and comfortable as was the whole property but it was the log fire in the living room that drew us into its embrace .
We spent most nights during our stay feeing very snug in front of the slowly burning embers.
The property itself is well appointed with all the things you require when on a holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay here.
Our winter vacation here was charming just what a Christmas should be.
Thank you for your feedback. When we built the conservatory, we had electric heaters added in addition to the normal heating radiators and now, as the conservatory is so warm and cosy, most visitors tell us that they "live" in the conservatory during their stay.
Should you wish to visit again, you would be very welcome and we do offer discounts to returning guests who contact us direct.
