Cottage in St Ives, Cornwall, England - Ideal Location Just Yards From The Harbour Beach

Traditional granite former fisherman’s cottage in superb location just a few steps from the harbour, shops and restaurants.

The accommodation consists of two bedrooms, front has double bed, rear with harbour view is equipped with a single and bunk beds. Recently refurbished bathroom with shower and bath, downstairs kitchen diner with fridge/freezer, oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, etc and sitting room with TV with DVD, HD recorder, Free WiFi.

Designated parking space is available at £50/week extra.

We always loved to holiday in St Ives, first visiting in 1974, and has changed little over the years. We purchased Rachel Cottage in 2009 and it was named after our first Grandchild - who is now 9 years old.

Fantastic home from home

Just stayed here for two weeks and you can not fault this property at all, well equipped kitchen,a clean and neat property, good sized rooms and best of all a short walk to the town center. Very close the the Sloop Inn, but no noise heard from the pub.The Owner is very easy to deal with and responds quickly to your messages, would and have recommended this property to people, just need to book again for next year :-)

Winter break

I just spent most of the winter in Rachel Cottage and it's been the perfect get-away-from-the-cold venue. Plenty to see and do in this part of Cornwall, St Ives itself is lovely, and quiet at this time of year. And yes, the cottage was cosy despite the occasional colder or wet day! Highly recommended for a winter break.

Special interest holidays:

Ideal base for walking, coastal paths and moor hikes. Artists abound and the Tate Gallery is only 200 yards from cottage. Railway station is a half mile and ideal for day trips to Truro, Falmouth and Penzance.

Coast/Beach:

Beautiful sandy beaches within yards........Harbour beach is a mere 30 yards or so, the superb Porthmeor surfing beach and Porthgwidden beach (ideal for families) are both only 200 yards away. Porthminster beach about half a mile.

Travel:

Easy drive, mainly dual carriageway from M5 at Exeter (100 miles)

Railway station in town so arrival by train is easy (half mile)

Once here, a car is not really required as days out by train are easy and fun.

Park car outside cottage to unload then ideally park in our designated space (optional extra) or Island car park (200 yds), or Barnoon, or during busy weeks Leisure Centre then a 10 min walk back down

Distances:

Lands End 15 miles, Penzance 6 miles, Truro 20 miles, Falmouth 28 miles, Newquay 30 miles.

Further Details:

The bustling town of St Ives has a selection of designer shops and excellent restaurants abound. Local seafood is obviously popular but most pubs offer excellent fare. The world renowned Sloop Inn is just yards from the property and offers excellent value for money.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Sunday. Departure 10 am Arrival 3pm.
We have found this to be the best day as it is quieter on the roads and also for arriving and departing guests in the town.

Dogs are welcome out of the main season.
