This modern, detached eco-friendly property completed in 2012 was built to the highest standards and is new to the rental market this summer. The three reception rooms all have bi-fold doors which open onto a raised stone patio and have spectacular panoramic views of Falmouth Bay, Pendennis Castle, the Manacles and beyond. Four of the bedrooms have views out to sea, with two having bi-fold doors opening onto balconies with glass surrounds. The property is ideally located next to Castle Beach just a few minutes walk from Falmouth Train Station and also from Events Square and the town with its shops and many and varied eateries.

We moved to Falmouth eight years ago and would never dream of living anywhere else now!

Why Chris Walker chose Truro & Falmouth

The view from the house into the Bay changes constantly as ships, yachts, cruise liners and paddleboarders come and go. On Saturday evenings in the summer, we often enjoy firework displays from Pendennis Castle or from hotels along the bay front.

The location is ideal for everyone - a short walk into town for an evening out or to the shops during the day, the leisure centre s short walk in the opposite direction, the beach directly opposite and peace and quiet in the garden or house if that's what you'd prefer.

Falmouth has festivals and events throughout the year. It is well worthwhile checking out the town website http://www.falmouth.co.uk/ for more information on what's on.

What makes this house unique

Once you're here, you can abandon the car as there's plenty to keep you entertained in Falmouth with the beaches, bars, restaurants, art gallery, Maritime Museum and swimming pools. If you wish you can take the local train service into Truro (the local train station is just a few minutes walk away) or get a ferry across to Flushing, St Mawes or even into Truro.

We felt very honoured to be your first ever guests and that goes equally from baby Isla at 5 months through three generations to great granddad Ray. The house was just perfect for all of us, with stunning views and fantastic location. Chris and Jane are a lovely welcoming couple and Coco gave us his own inimitable warm welcome! Thoroughly recommended for families and couples alike.

This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location with stunning sea views. The house is well equipped with everything a large group needs for a great holiday. The house was very clean when we arrived all we had to do was unpack and start our holiday. The owners were very helpful and were very happy to answer any questions we had.

It's in a great location within a short walk from Falmouth centre and the coastal path walks. We had a great holiday and would happily return.

A fantastic week

Bay Lodge is a beautiful house set in a peaceful location with wonderful views across the bay. If you like walking you have direct access to the coastal path for a short stroll or a long hike. The beach at Gyllyngvase is a few minutes walk with a nice beach bar. Also the many restaurants and bars of Falmouth are a short walk. I would definitely go back again to Bay Lodge.

Fantastic holiday home

Chris and Jane could not do enough to make us feel at home during our stay in their fantastic property. We are a group of 8 adults with 4 dogs, the accommodation could not have been better suited to a large party. Large comfortable bedrooms with incredible views, two really comfortable lounges that could be opened up to make one large room and a fabulous well equipped kitchen with a homely Aga. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Stunning Property and Views

We have just arrived home after a wonderful holiday at Bay Lodge. Chris & Jane were excellent hosts and the scones with jam & cream on arrival was a great touch. This property was perfect for our needs and the rooms very spacious (our party was 8 adults 5 small children and 1 dog). The location very convenient with the beach, leisure centre and bowling close and the town and pubs only a 10-15 minute walk. The enclosed garden was very good for the children and our dog. Highly Recommended.

Idyllic

What a wonderful week we had in Falmouth with the whole family. The weather and location of the property made it for us. The house is very spacious and accommodated 10 people very comfortably. Chris and Jane were such genial hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Hope to return again in the near future.

Simply Stunning

Location, location, location is the mantra from the experts, and it couldn't be more true for this property. Our hosts Chris & Jane were very accommodating when, due to unforeseen circumstances, we asked to bring an extra dog (3 in total !) and we were met on arrival with freshly baked scones from the permanently hot Aga oven. The rooms were very very spacious but the views from the living and dining rooms, and upstairs bedroom balconies are what makes this property outstanding. The house is decorated wiith a simple pallete of white and oak doors / windows with several folding doors to give flexibilty, however we found that we simply had everything open all of the time to let the outdoors and indoors become almost one. Although the road was just behind a small wall, it is ssufficently private enough to give the impression that the house is just about on the beach.

More by good luck than planning we were there for "Falmouth week" but regardless, this is an absolutely perfect property if you just want to stay in the Falmouth area, or as a base for exploring further afield. Good parking at the property makes life easy in an otherwise very congested area (our group had 3 cars ). Literally across the road from the beach in one direction, and about a 10 min walk to the main steet of shops and pubs etc in the other direction. It's hard to pick fault with this property, mainly because there aren't any. The dogs enjoyed a daily walk around the castle moat a short distance away - a little hilly to get here if if you're not used to it, but nothing too challenging - the local beaches are not dog friendly in peak season. All in all, a perfect lcationwith excellent hosts who currently live just next door. There is no doubt that this location, which is relatively new to the market, will be booked up quite quickly once the word gets out, so book early. !

The coastal walks from Falmouth are outstanding. There are special boat trips to St Mawes, up the estuary and many other beautiful destinations. Falmouth is one of the UK's première sailing destinations and the surrounding areas also offer world class watersports, diving and surfing to name a few. Falmouth itself offers a range of restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. A diverse range of live music and theatre can be found all around Falmouth. It is an ideal base to explore both Falmouth and the rest of Cornwall. The Tate in St Ives, the Minnack Theatre, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan can all be found an easy drive way.

Coast/Beach:

Cross the road and down the steps and you're on Castle Beach! Bay Lodge is situated an easy 8 minute walk to Gyllyngvase beach, a perfect family beach complete with life guards, beach bar and restaurant. Not more than a ten minute drive are also Swanpool and Maenporth beaches.

5 mins walk from Falmouth Train Station

Distances:

10 mins walk to Falmouth town centre; Truro accessible by local train or 11 miles by car.
