Beech Cottage is situated on the outskirts of two villages Wellow and Shoscombe, both approx 1 mile away. Wellow has the Fox and Badger public house with good food, and the Apple Tree at Shoscombe. Wellow Trekking Centre is a very popular activity for all the family. There is also the village of Peasedown St John that has a chemist, baker's petrol station, butcher's, Tesco express and a Co-op. Located in the owner's property, Beech cottage has its own private area. There is a large shared drive with ample parking. The south west has many attractions to offer and Beech Cottage is ideally situated to visit them all. There is the cathedral city of Wells, the vibrant city of Bristol, Longleat, to name a few. Bath, the world heritage site, is the main attraction with its Georgian architectural buildings, museums and the only natural hot thermal spa in Britain.

About Liam & Chris Martin
Hello, we are Lee & Chris Martin, we have lived in this area for almost 40yrs. I work in the hospitality trade; Lee is a carpenter/ builder although semi retired. Lee has professionally converted our out-building into a high specification holiday cottage. We have been up and running now for over two years. The reviews we have received have been amazing and we have enjoyed welcoming all of our guests, and look forward to meeting future guests. Our two sons have grown and flown the nest.
Liam & Chris Martin purchased this Cottage in 1980
Why Liam & Chris Martin chose Bath
We brought this derelict property and renovated it while living in a caravan with our two boys. We love this area and only moved a short distance from our previous home to live here. We enjoyed the challenge of the project and there was plenty of scope to expand. We love the fact that we can be in the bustling city of Bath by a short drive, and we have the rolling countryside on our doorstep. The perfect balance for us.

Absolutely beautiful cottage located in an ideal location to explore the surrounding areas.
The cottage was beautiful, it was very clean and we were very impressed with the high spec of the interior. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were light and spacious with great ensuites. Great dining and lounge area. The garden was great and it was very peaceful. Chris and Lee were fabulous hosts! The welcome pack was great and they were very friendly. Our children loved hanging out in their garden and playing with Dylan the dog! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, it was everything we needed and much more. We recommend you stay, you won’t be disappointed.
Outstanding holiday cottage
What a truly wonderful holiday cottage this is! We have just returned from a week's stay and have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Somerset. Beech cottage is surely one of the best letting experiences we have had, from the moment we stepped inside. A generous welcome pack was waiting from the owners and everything was immaculate in presentation. The craftsmanship that has gone into the design of the cottage is fabulous and every inch of space utilised to the best advantage. As I wrote in the visitor's book, if I owned a holiday cottage, I would want it to be just like this one. Knowing how fussy I am, I couldn't think of a better compliment! Wholehearted thanks, Chris and Liam, for your efforts in providing a unique and beautiful place to stay.
Hi Nigel, Catherine, Madeline & Isabelle. Thank you for such a wonderful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, and would love you to stay again some other time. And thank you for leaving everything so clean and tidy! Chris & Liam
Fantastic, beautiful cottage & easy acess
Had a 4 night stay here for my sisters 30th birthday. This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in! The owners were very welcoming and the welcome pack and birthday card were very much appreciated. Everything needed was provided and all was extremely clean. Ideal location for visiting Bath. Managed to visit the Wookey Hole Caves, Roman Baths, Fashion Museum, American Museum in Britain and Cheddar Gorge. Would without a doubt recommend this cottage to those looking for a quiet getaway and we hope to stay here again ourselves.
Thank you for your lovely review, we are pleased you all enjoyed your stay at Beech Cottage. We would love you to visit us again, as we mentioned you do get a discount for being a returning guest!
Wonderful
The property is perfect in every way. The hospitality of the owners fantastic. Welcome pack on arrival of freshly made bread, jam, all the essentials including wine and chocolates. Nothing is too much trouble. It is a home from home, perfectly situated to tour bath and the surrounding areas and sites of great historical value and leisure, fun activities for the children.
We enjoyed our stay here no end, would and probably will return again at some future date.

A wonderful get away from it all place
The booking process the wonderful welcome, the log burner, little touches on arrival, the cleanliness, the location, the beautiful interior - this place is without doubt one of the nicest self catering places we have stayed in! The photos just do not do it justice! Be prepared to have your expectations exceeded. We loved it. We wanted to get away from it all and Beech Cottage ticked all the boxes! You will not be disappointed. We loved the open plan layout and the cosy lounge area with the roaring wood burner especially on Sunday morning with a cuppa and a book. Magical and so relaxing. Thank you Chris and Liam for creating such a great cottage 😀
