The house is situated in a quiet street in the centre of Polperro and is just round the corner from the historic harbour, shops, restaurants and pubs. The famous House on Props restaurant which overlooks the harbour (highly recommended for their delicious cream teas and cakes) is next door. The river Pol runs along the rear of the property.
Parking is included for one car for each property. (10-15 min walk)
2/6/13: Just a note to say thanks for Talland House for our holiday, what a fab house every think we needed was their.
It was our first visit to Polperro , this has to be our ideal holiday destination for GB. Hope to return later in the summer.
29/5/13: Thank you for a lovely stay.
Each room has its own ensuite shower and toilet as well as there being a downstairs toilet with a bath! There are three floors, with the twin room being at the top of the house. The attic room is beautiful and the doubles very pretty too. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with TV, fire etc, a separate large dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. You really have everything you need here. Outside you are practically next door to the best cafe for breakfasts and the rest of the village is a stones throw away. I would definitely recommend talland house, having stayed in three other cottages in polperro and I would visit again! Thanks!
I HAVE ALWAYS ADORED POLPERO , VISITED MANY TIMES , BUT NEVER STAYED THEIR.
SO THIS WAS MY FIRST STAY IN VILLAGE AT TALLAND , AND WHAT A CHOICE I MADE . IT WAS PERFECT , YOUR CAR IS PARKED SAFELY SOME QUARTER OF A MILE AWAY , BUT THAT WAS NOT A PROBLEM , YOU COULD STILL DRIVE TO COTTAGE TO DROP OF.
IT HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED , PLENTY OF ROOM , WARM , CONSTANT HOT WATER , IDEAL LOCATION. FRIENDLY PEOPLE , AND SHOPS/PUBS OPEN EVEN IN JANUARY.
WE WILL BE GOING AGAIN , JUST A QUESTION OF GETTING TIME OFF.
I PREFER TO GO OUT OF SEASON , BUT THAT IS JUST A PERSONAL CHOICE , LOVELY AND QUIET.
Very good location regarding walks, harbour, pubs and shops. The house however needs urgent maintenence and a deep clean. On arrival I spent a little time brushing cobwebs etc from the entrance and rear terrace. Thought the log fire was enjoyable on a rainy night although we had water coming through the bathroom. We were also aware of our lower neighbours where the lack of sound proofing affected the holiday enjoyment.
The harbour is 10m away. The beach (low tide) is a minutes walk. The coast paths start from the harbour.
