About Nicci Millar
Hello we are The Millar Family - Jonny, Anna, Jemima (looking grumpy in the pouch), Nicci - and we own and run Copperpot Cottage. Apart from a gorgeously cosy cottage, we have local knowledge which we'd be happy to share to help make your stay really special. Just ask.
Nicci Millar purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Nicci Millar chose Coleraine
Copperpot Cottage is a traditional-style Irish stone cottage and picture-postcard pretty. It's in the heart of peaceful countryside - you wake up to only the sound of the birds singing. Yet, just a mile and a half away is Portrush. The beaches are all soft sand with magical views towards the Scottish Isles and the coastal drives are spectacular. It's a lovely part of the world.

Thanks Nicci & Jonny for yet another great stay. The house is just perfect for us and we had a great couple of day with the work crew and then with the family. House has everything you could need and lighting the big stove was just great. We will be back of course!
It is always a pleasure to welcome you back. There really is nothing nicer that stoking up the fire and settling back with a good glass of wine.
A wonderful cottage in a convenient location!
We had a wonderful stay in copperpot cottage! You can tell that Nicci and Jonny go the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome. There was milk in the fridge and fresh bread and wine as well. There were lovely fresh flowers on the kitchen table which was a lovely touch. The cottage is clean, cosy, beautifully decorated and a real home from home. It is close to portrush town centre but also enjoys the benefit of being set in a lovely peaceful location! We had a great stay and will definitely be back!
Seeing our guests return to our cottages with their own young families is always such a pleasure. So is hearing that you found everything you needed to make the stay relaxing and memorable. Thanks for taking the time to review us. Come back soon!
Brilliant cottage to stay in!
What a brilliant cottage to stay in, it has everything you need for a weekend away it even has everything you need for babies from the cot to the high chair to loads of toys! Super close to portrush so there isn’t a lot of traveling to get places, would def recommend & will be booking again.
We are so pleased to hear you found everything you needed for your whole family to enjoy their stay at Crayfish Cottage. Yes, we love how handy it is walking into town and hope to welcome you back again soon.
Copperpot Family New Year
What a wonderful venue this was for our family get-together at New Year. Booking was so easy and Nicci was so welcoming and answered all our questions prior to arrival, providing extras like the travel cot and a box of toys for the tinies!
The Christmas tree and decorations made the place especially welcoming and the log fire added to the atmosphere, although we spent most of our time together in the large open -plan kitchen (exceptionally well-equipped), where all six adults and two tiny infants had plenty of room to relax.
Everything was spotless and the beds guaranteed a good night's sleep.
The information folder included everything we could have wanted and would be especially useful for a longer break later in the year.
Positioned within walking distance of the town of Portrush - and having a supermarket on the doorstep and a fuel station nearby - make this a most convenient venue for a great visit to a wonderful part of Northetn Ireland.
We will book again!
It was an absolute pleasure having your family stay at Copperpot Cottage over Christmas. We are delighted you found the cottage had all you needed to make the stay easy and relaxing for everyone. Come back soon!

Home away from home
This was our second time to stay in Copperpot and it was just as brilliant second time round. Our 4 year old calls it his "holiday house"! It is a well equipped comfortable cottage in a brilliant location, so close to Portrush and Portstewart and in a lovely quiet area. Nicci gave us a warm welcome with beautiful flowers, fresh bread and milk. I cannot recommend Copperpot enough, we will be back!!
It was really good to welcome you all back! We agree - Copperpot Cottage is a lovely location for enjoying the beaches as well as heading on adventures round the coast. Thank you for the hearty recommendation and we hope to see you again next Summer if not before!
We’re roughly an hour's drive from Belfast and 3 hours from Dublin.
Just go to our website www.copperpotcottage.com for a wealth of information about local attractions.
Portrush Harbour: There's a wide choice of eateries at the Ramore Complex.
For Summer season family fun, try Barry's amusements or Waterworld.
The East Strand, West Strand and Whiterocks beaches are all in the heart of Portrush.
Nearby Portstewart strand has a beach you can park on and a great eatery - Harry's Shack.
Here are some of the big local attractions:
Giant's Causeway: Legend has it that the giant, Finn McCool, created this geological marvel. It is a World Heritage Site and now has an impressive visitors centre to match. Tip: car parking charges might take your breath away, so park across the road at the Heritage Railway (also worth a ride).
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge: Spanning a chasm eighty feet deep, it is an exhilarating experience peering down through the wooden slats into the clear waters below. The coastal path offers stunning views of Rathlin and the Scottish Isles, as well as a noisy seabird colony.
Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery: Join a tour of the distillery to observe the craft of traditional Irish whiskey making and sample the goods too.
Ballintoy Harbour: A picture-postcard pretty harbour with a pocket-sized tea room and magical views. Much-loved by walkers, this is the most celebrated part of the Causeway Coast.
Whitepark Bay Beach: The spectacular sandy beach forms a white arc between two headlands including the tiny salmon-fishing village of Portbraddan. The beach is backed by ancient dunes rich in bird and animal life. Enjoy lazy summer days, picnics, making sandcastles and long walks along this truly beautiful beach.
Portrush is well known for its three sandy beaches, the West Strand, East Strand and White Rocks (blue flag), just a mile and a half from the cottage. They are popular with surfers and have several surf schools.
From personal experience, the bustling Ramore Wine Bar offers a broad, well-priced menu (children welcome) and 55 Degrees North is a good option for afternoon tea with great views (children welcome). Further afield, Tartine in Bushmills offers delicious food and an interesting wine list.
