Perfect little bolthole!
We have been returning to Yvonne's cottage for a number of years and it never disappoints!
The location is perfect for exploring the area and the house is cosy and well equipped, close to fabulous beaches which our dog loves!! Appreciate the wine and treats left for us - thanks, Yvonne and we look forward to returning at Easter!
Impressed with Sandpiper cottage & Beadnell
Good area, close to beach. 1st time in Northumberland and wished I had booked for 2 weeks. Amazing beaches. All dog friendly. Holiday makers comments in the visitor book when I read some ....... people had stayed 2 and more times and one had returned for the 7th time. ....... a lovely place !!
Perfect coastal base
Sandpiper is a lovely yet practical base from which to explore this part of Northumberland . The house was a perfect size for us -2 adults and 2 dogs- but would also be great for a couple with up to 2 young children. Self-catering was a doddle thanks to the range of kitchen equipment provided - it really was like a home from home.
And just a note to say thank you to Yvonne for her speedy and positive responses when I managed to mess up the (simple) payment process. Thanks
Good base to explore the area
The house was excellent, in the sense that it was comfortable and included everything we needed in self-catering accommodation (there's no dishwasher but we didn't need one!). It is a modern semi-detached house on an estate, much of which is used as holiday accommodation. I wouldn't really describe Beadnell as a beautiful village, although there are attractive parts. It is home to two large caravan parks and a lot of holiday accommodation. Around Beadnell, the countryside and coastline are stunning - and, of course, that's why we went. The house is near to beautiful beaches, medieval castles and the Farne Islands with their seabird colonies. We walked to the little harbour on most evenings, which was very pleasant. We also walked to the Ship Inn at Low Newton, which we enjoyed and wasn't all that far. We drove to Craster, Seahouses, Bamburgh and Lindisfarne for other walks.
We enjoyed our short break in Beadnell, a perfect base for touring the Northumberland coast.
The only slight niggle was that the walls of the house were paper thin and we could hear everything that the people next door were doing, including having a conversation.
The second bedroom is very small and suitable for children only as it could only accommodate bunk beds. As we were a party of 4 adults aged between 65-79 years, it was a bit of a struggle especially getting up through the night for a trip to the loo, but it was all part of the experience and we did have a laugh about it. The three night break was enough because of the bunk situation and we did enjoy our time in Northumberland.
We had a glorious long weekend in this perfect holiday home. Everything we needed and more. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. So dog friendly too. My dogs loved it. Gorgeous view from the patio doors. The welcome wine and biscuits were much appreciated. We shall definitely book again. Thank you.
Thank you. It’s always appreciated when guests give us feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay
