We spent a week at John's luxury villa and we could not have been happier with our choice of accommodation. Everything that was promised was delivered and more. The villa was emaculately kept as was the property. Our view from the balcony was spectacular. Our mornings started off at the fitness centre. Then it was on to the pool. Each afternoon found us at the beach, which has to be one of the nicest beaches on the island. And what sunsets! We decided to rent a car from the airport, which ended up being a good idea. It allowed us to have a daily excursion. Our destinations included the Atlantis Hotel, Bathsheba beach, the Crane Resort, Flower Animal Cave and St. Nicholas Abbey. The staff at Port St Charles were super friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a memorable experience. The best thing that we can say about John's villa is that we will be back!
We had another amazing stay at Port St Charles ,as our friends own a beach appartments on the complex we knew we loved it here, and whilst sitting on our balcony we could see across to our friends house .
Johns appartment had everything you could need for your stay including plenty of bedding clean towels and beach towels instructions for everything in the appartment so no guessing ,great view of the lagoon and sea beyond .
We would definately stay here again if there was one thing that did disappoint it was the fact that in your advert it says there is a cleaner unfortunately no one stepped foot inside the appartment the whole time we where there ,so it was down to me to change the bed and towels etc and clean which isn't the end of the world but not something I have ever had to do before on holiday.....but that said it didn't ruin the holiday in any way shape or form and as long as you know this before hand you want be disappointed .
We would definately love to say in Johns Appartment again
Easy transaction on arrival and obtaining keys from Vikki and again when leaving a taxi was arrange by Vikki .
Feeling very relaxed can't wait to return to Barbados at Christmas
Once again many thanks John
We have stayed in this resort for the last three years and have become very fond of it. We have visited Barbados a number of times over the years, sometimes staying closer to Holetown and St. Lawrence Gap where it is busier, but prefer the tranquility of the marina resort, the wonderful Heywoods Beach that is calm enough for young children, and the view of the boating activity in the marina.
We stayed in a spacious, well maintained one bedroom unit that includes daily housekeeping and free WiFi. It is on the second floor and has a very large balcony with a lovely view of the pool and marina and the ocean beyond. We appreciate being able to walk to Speightstown for our groceries, and often walk up to Six Men's Bay to buy fish for supper. To get around the island it is easy to use the local big blue buses (which are excellent value at $2 Barbados per ride) as the Speightstown bus terminal is within easy walking distance. This year we went to the Holetown festival, Bathsheba, River Bay and the Northeast coast, Oistins and Bridgetown, all by bus. We enjoy swimming and snorkeling off Heywoods Beach every day, and often use the marina's free water taxi to get to the beach although it is just in front of the resort. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with two tennis courts, and the staff, especially the ladies at the reception desk, are very helpful and friendly. The owner of our unit, from England, is responsive and reliable and we appreciate being able to pay using Paypal.
Sitting on the veranda in the evening with a cool drink and watching the magnificent sunset over Heywoods Beach comes pretty close to paradise, in large part because Barbados is such a wonderful island with very friendly people. Now if only I could get my sailboat into one of those slips to enjoy the constant 10-15 knot winds.
Lovely resort and the apartment is great - very spacious, with a huge balcony overlooking the marina. The beach is a short walk or free water taxi away and there is a lovely pool that was practically unused when we were there (second week January). The staff at the resort were great and happy to help with restaurant reservations, taxis etc. There is a serviceable gym onsite.
The booking process with John was very smooth.
Only slight criticism would be that there are limited dining options nearby. The Yacht Club on site does good food, although pricey, and there is little of interest in the only resort within walking distance, Speightstown. (Speightstown generally is described in the guidebooks as "untouched by tourism", which is a bit of a euphemism.) The pool bar did good and very reasonable snack food at lunchtimes only. Otherwise, nada. However, if you don't mind getting a taxi (US$20 or so) or the bus (US$ 1.50) to Holetown, about 15 mins' drive away, there are plently of great places to eat and go out.
We had a wonderful holiday here in Port St Charles. The apartment is large, spacious, very clean and tastefully decorated. The staff at Port St Charles can not do enough for you and are the most friendly people. Perfectly located at the resort, near the pool, reception and not far from the Beach, but on lazy days the water taxi can pick up from right in front of the apartment. Beautiful and quiet beach, where we got engaged. It really is the perfect romantic place. Port St Charles organised taxi's, food shopping, car hire amongst other thigns for us to make our stay as relaxing as possible. Will definitely be returning!
