Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
Staying at the Seaside Retreat was very peaceful and relaxing after getting settled into the place. Lubec is very laid back. If you want to relax this is the place to go.
My family and I had a lovely week in this beautiful home. If you want to connect with nature and escape the crowd, then this is the place for you. Very friendly town. The house was clean, but there was room for improvement which I am sure will be addressed. The rental company and the owners were very responsive. Love, love , love the craftsmanship of the house. The view and the stars at night were spectacular.
We had a gala time at this property. Breathtaking views-Thoroughly enjoyed sunrise and sunsets at the beach. Huge backyard is a plus. Property is very well maintained and will all required amenities. I would definitely recommend this place to folks who have big groups or family gatherings. Awesome vacation!
The home is great!! Well equipped with everything needed to prepare a meal - which is great because the restaurants are few and their days/hours can be tricky to figure out. Absolutely stunning location!! Great back yard for grilling out, playing horseshoes, or just sitting. Private beach access that offers miles of shells for collecting.
Quoddy Head State Park is very close and offers several trails for hiking, a beautiful lighthouse, and several backdrops for photos. We hiked each of the trails but our favorite was the Coastal Trail for the beautiful views. Bog Trail was a close second, offering a unique experience to see a big and some really neat plantlife.
Once we figured out the local restaurants we were not disappointed. Everything we had was great!!
We decided to pass on the Boat Tour due to being there early in the season and the $350 cost for the 6 of us (that was a discounted price). It was still chilly and the only tour available was on the only warm day during our trip. We elected not to spend 2 1/2 hours on the water but rather by the water back at the house.
The house has a washer and dryer and was well stocked with necessary cleaning supplies, paper products, board games and beach games (which were a hit with our kids) and a first aid kit. There are Windows everywhere which offer a beautiful view from anywhere inside the home. There are no curtains in the home - and the sun comes up very early in Maine. But we didn't mind that at all. It was a beautiful wake up call.
The hot tub and sauna were not installed yet during our trip. The owners were very apologetic and went out of their way to assure we had a great trip despite that. We appreciated that! And we had a really great trip.
Lubec was the perfect destination for our family of 6 who is typically on the run with 4 young athletes. It helped us slow down and enjoy the scenery and one another. We would love to return - and would certainly rent this property again.
This was our first trip to Maine - what a beautiful landscape!!! The home is beautiful, private, and sits right on the water. Equipped with everything needed to prepare family meals at home, which is good because there aren't many restaurants and the hours and days of operation are tricky for those that do exist. Just 3 miles from Quoddy Head State Park where there are several options for hiking and backdrops for family photos!! We did several of the trails but our favorite was the 4 mile Coastal Trail that took us all along the coast and had beautiful scenery to offer. A close second, though was Bog Trail where we got to see the bog with some really neat plantlife.
The private beach offers miles of beautiful seashells that our boys spent a good amount of time collecting. The rocky beaches are just gorgeous.
Once we managed to figure out the hours and days for the local restaurants we were pleasantly surprised. Water street Tavern and Inn offered great burgers, fantastic fries, and some good local beers on tap. Cohill's Inn was the only place to offer a kids menu which consisted of a hot dog, Mac n cheese, and watermelon. The spinach dip was also quite delicious!!! Frank's Dockside served some pretty great fried pickles, potato skins, and a fabulous meatball sub. We found the local IGA to be quite helpful but we're glad we stopped for a large shopping trip about 30 minutes from Lubec.
We decided to pass on the boat trip for several reasons: cost, time of year, and not wanting to be on the water for 2 1/2 hours on our warmest day. The home is stocked with board games, beach toys, laundry machines, and paper products - all that came in very handy.
The hot tub and sauna were not available yet for our stay. But the owners went out of their way to make that up to us. We appreciated that for sure.
A late May trip meant that the water wasn't very warm. But that didn't stop our boys from getting in and having a great time!!
Beautiful home, amazing location, really great trip!!!!
