About Jo Bednall
Ridgehead Farm originally formed part of the Harper-Crewe Estate but then fell derelict, the main buildings were rebuilt some 25 years ago. In 2008 an historic barn on the farm was painstakingly converted by us into two luxury holiday cottages. I have lived at the farm for 16 years with my husband Clive and our 13 year old daughter Lucy and a variety of pets. I have had a lifelong love of horses which has been passed onto Lucy, we both regularly compete at local and regional competitions, consequently the equine facilities at the farm have been vastly improved. We live in the main farmhouse approx 100m from the cottages and are there to offer you a warm welcome on arrival and available to offer local advice and answer any queries during your stay.

Enjoyed a most pleasant stay in a wonderful place. Plenty of beautiful places to visit not to far away.
Owners very friendly and most welcoming.
Would highly recommended staying here.
Wonderful accommodation in amazing area. Friendly helpful hosts. We will return!
Luxury accommodation supplying every need. We loved it! Especially the chicken with her 13 chicks! Very dog friendly. Highly recommended
Great cottage in a great location
Stayed for 10 nights in May, had a fabulous time. Everything was included for a great self catering stay. Very convenient location for spectacular walks and good pubs...(Pack Horse at Crowdecote is a must.) Would definitely recommend Curlew cottage and will try to stay there again later this year. Clive and Jo are very welcoming hosts but watch out for the 1 legged chicken!
Lovely property in a stunning location
Fantastic property, very roomy for a family of four. Had everything we needed and the welcome basket with wine, biscuits and milk was much appreciated. Kids loved the friendly farm environment with chickens and horses.
The area is lovely and we hope to be back soon.
Cozy cottage away from it all
We had a lovely stay at Ridgehead cottages over an unexpectedly snowy weekend in late March. The cottages are in a stunning location up on the moors and we were greeted by a lovely view through the windows whilst eating out breakfast. The cottage was warm and well equipped, and we spent quite a bit of our stay just hiding away from the weather in peace and quiet. There are several good pubs within a few miles serving food. On a nice day it is well worth going for a walk in the Roaches, which are only 5 minutes away by car.
A great property - would stay again
No issues. The house was as per description and all the basics were covered. Jo was very welcoming and a small welcome pack with some biscuits and a bottle of wine was a nice touch.
