About Sheila Roberts
Sheila has lived on and off in Provence for over 15 years. Originally from Limerick, Ireland, Sheila loves the climate, her garden and just the peaceful lifestyle she and her family enjoy in Provence. Sheila is married to Jeff and they have a teenage son, Eric
Sheila Roberts purchased this House in 2001
Why Sheila Roberts chose Lorgues
We bought a place in Provence because we love the area. We are surrounded by forests and vineyards and very old Medieval villages. The area is full of character and there is nothing like eating out at night in the local restaurants especially if they have dining in summer gardens. All the local villages have a 'market day' which are always a real delight, full of character, colour and fantastic foods and smells! Every Tuesday morning Lorgues has the second largest market in Provence. You can also visit numerous local vineyards and sample wines all day long without any obligation to buy! The coast gets very crowded in the Summer but being inland a bit lets you drop down to the coast when you want- and that suits us. Lorgues is now one of the most popular areas in Provence
What makes this House unique
Our ' visitors cottage' offers a lot for a small property. It is completely enclosed and very private, it is very quiet and peaceful and being south facing it is a 'sun trap' in the summer. We have renovated the property this year, put in a new pool, new patio's ,installed a new kitchen, many new appliances, new furnishings and air conditioning. It has been completely redecorated. It is small but perfect for a couple or a family with 2 young children.

really nice secluded cottage yet easily accessible no dirt tracks or steep inclines which we have found before .owners are friendly with out being intrusive and are helpful we had problem with fridge which was replaced same day you would not get better than that ever thing in cottage good quality including knifes which makes a change to some places we have stayed well placed to go north to lake or south to coast ideal
Perfect Provençal cottage
This lovely cottage absolutely lived up to positive reviews it has received. The cottage is beautifully equipped, in a picturesque and quiet location, surrounded by the wonderful scent of pine trees. The owners have not skimped on any aspect - with a lovely private pool, and all mod cons available. Thanks to Sheila for her quiet attentiveness, and to Eric for sorting out the WiFi. Given that there was a family wedding the week we were there, we never felt isolated, nor did we ever feel our privacy was compromised. Quite simply, lovely owners, lovely cottage, lovely location. Just hope to repeat the experience sometime soon.
Thanks Tim and Ann for your kind review. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hopefully will see you both again in the future, Sheila.
My husband and I had a wonderful 3 week stay in June - July 2014. Lovely quiet location, nice pool and gardens. Fully equipped stone cottage, in the heart of the countryside. Perfect base for exploring the coast and inland. Lorgues is a traditional town, unspoilt by mass tourism, with all amenities. Sheila, the owner was on hand, and extremely helpful, if you need her, but not obtrusive.
I can honestly say that the facilities in the cottage are the best we have ever experienced in our numerous trips to France. Everything in the cottage is as you would expect it at home, it doesn't feel like a holiday home, it feels like home. There is everything and more for a very comfortable say. The swimming pool is beautiful and very welcome to either relax by, or to cool off after a day out sightseeing. The cottage is in a perfect place to explore the area and we hope we will be able to revisit some time in the future. Certainly we wouldn't even look for anywhere else if we revisit this area. We have no negatives at all following our two weeks and cannot sing our praises loud enough for the lovely cottage, and the Roberts family for their kind welcome and any assistance needed during our stay.

Thank you ever so much for your kind review. I am really glad you enjoyed your stay and hopefully we might see you again some time.
This has by far been the best self catering holiday that we have ever had in France. The cottage is outstandingly well equipped, very comfortable and incredibly peaceful. For us, its own pool was the icing on the cake. The town of Lorgues is lovely. It has an amazing weekly market and plenty of places to eat or enjoy that all important glass of something in the sunshine. It is close enough to other bigger towns to meet shopping requirements. Nearby is a beautiful lake with picturesque views...in fact the whole area is peppered with superb scenery and photographic opportunities. The owners were very welcoming and allowed peace and privacy whilst ensuring the stay was as perfect as it could be. Nothing was too much trouble. We would not hesitate to recommend this holiday property, indeed we loved it so much we have booked for next year.
Hi Ian & Nicola,
Thank you ever so much for the kind review. Lorgues is really so well positioned to see Provence that it is hard not to have a good time. Glad the cottage was well received and I look forward to seeing you both next year.
Lovely cottage & beautiful part of France
We have just come back from a lovely week in this gorgeous villa. We are a family of 4 and the accommodation was perfect for us, the children loved the pool and the cottage is very comfortable with all the home comforts you could wish for.
The area is fantastic, we felt that a week wasn't long enough to see it all! We had great fun at the lac St Croix hiring pedaloes with slides! And canoeing along the gorges du Verdon was a real highlight.
Lorgues is a lovely village with a good choice of restaurants for eating out and great markets on Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening.
Thank you a lovely holiday. We really hope to come back!
So pleased you enjoyed your stay it was a pleasure meeting you and Barrie and of course the children. Hope to see you some time again. Sheila
