About Charles Kirkman
Christine and I live in Baslow just 4 miles from Bakewell and so are able to be on hand to look after our cottages and our guests if there are any problems. We have a local business which provides services all over the Peak District and so we love the area and know it well and are always pleased to give local information to help you make the most of your stay.

Why Charles Kirkman chose Bakewell
Brew House is such an unusual property in that it offers the friends or family group the opportunity to socialise together in warm comfortable surroundings whatever activities you want to do.It is very close to the centre of town yet is also quiet and has great amenities in parking and accommodation. Christine and I moved to the area 18 years ago and set up a business providing services to local residents and businesses which has enabled us to become a part of the community and also get to know the area very well. We love the beauty of the countryside and the diversity of the different villages, the local customs and festivals and of course the people who live here. Bakewell is the centre of the Peak District and is a tourist attraction in itself, but it also makes the surrounding area very accessible by car, on foot or by public transport.
What makes this House unique
Brew House is very spacious and rather unusual as it is an "upside down" house. The benefits of this are that the large living space makes a very light and warm area where everybody can get together and enjoy one another's company whether cooking, eating or just relaxing. Free Wi-Fi is now also available. There are very few if any other houses available in Bakewell with the accommodation the Brew House offers in having 3 bedrooms and bathrooms and parking for 3 cars all within 300 yds of the Town Centre. The walk into town is flat and level and so is very easy giving great access to the shops, pubs and restaurants without getting the car out.

Great location, great property,
We were 6 adults staying at Brew House for New Year. Everything was very easy from instructions on how to get into the property, to the property itself. The welcome pack was just perfect and the added touch that the property was decorated for Christmas made it perfect.
Would highly recommend this for a visit to Bakewell and the Peak District.
We are so pleased that our guests at New Year had such a great time and appreciated the efforts we make to ensure Brew House is comfortable, warm and inviting.
As always at this time of the year we carry out an upgrade of an area in the house and so we are replacing and updating the carpet, furniture and soft furnishings now in the Master Bedroom.
We are also carrying out some upgrades at Anne Cottage, our other property in Bakewell to make it even more comfortable which include a new carpet in the Master bedroom and leather sofas in the lounge.
A very comfortable and well equipped property in a good location.
We had a lovely break in this property in Bakewell. It is an easy walk to shops and restaurants as well as being a good location of exploring other towns and the countryside. The property is well-equipped and very comfortable.
We are very pleased that Felicity and her party enjoyed Brew House and Bakewell. They will be very welcome to stay with us again in the future.
Spacious clean and well equipped house less than 5 minutes walk to centre of Bakewell
We had a lovely holiday in Bakewell and enjoyed fantastic hikes and cycling in one of Englands gems - 'The Peak District'. Brewhouse was perfectly situated close to town in a quiet courtyard. Spacious clean accommodation with comfortable beds and good showers. We had family come and join us for a few days and had plenty of space for 6 of us. Easily parked our three cars (one in garage, a 4x4 in front of garage and the third on Bagshaw Hill 30metres away using free residences parking permit provided by owner). Great shopping and places to eat in town. The Peak district has some of the most varied and interesting hiking routes in the country. Recommend The Roaches, Wye valley, Derwent Valley, Dove Dale, Monsal Dale and Monsal Trail. Hope Valley, Mam Tor, Castleton, Kinder Scout and so many more. Can not wait to return.
We are absolutely delighted that Brew House made such a great impression and provided Kevin and Marion with exactly the kind of accommodation they needed for themselves and their family.
We will be delighted to have them stay with us again in the future.

An excellent holiday property
First class for families or friends. Wonderful open living space and bathrooms for each bedroom. What could be better? It is in a handy, central location in Bakewell, and has a lovely outdoor area with views of the town and hills. The house was spotlessly clear and very well equipped, but you would need to bring your own bbq. Take care with car parking. It is very difficult to use the garage, which restricts on site parking to one car really, but a residents disc is also available
Fantastic Location and Facilities
the location and facilities were great, the seats and beds comfortable
it was ideal for getting away from it all, and the local area
only tiny niggle is the parking was a bit tight, in my Qashqai, but don't let that distract you from it in any way, we would very happily stay here again!
Great facilities in great location
What a lovely stay we had in this beautiful part of the world. The accommodation was perfect for our family of 5 (3 teenagers) and very well equipped and spacious. Bakewell itself is a great location as a base to explore and there are lots of things to see and do in the surrounding area. We asked to make a tweak to our original reservation and the owners couldn’t have been more accommodating. Would highly recommend this property.
As a footnote, as parents we try our best to give our 3 kids a variety of experiences to remember. We did LOTS in our week here...really lots. However, when I asked them what their favourite part of the holiday had been.....”the reclining couches” at the property was the unanimous reply.....you couldn’t make it up!!
It is great to receive such positive comments and we are delighted that the whole family enjoyed the holiday in Brew House. The reclining "smart" sofas have become a big favourite and its lovely to know that they are appreciated.
We were also pleased to accommodate a change in dates especially as the eventual outcome was to help so much personally.
We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
