Ryedale Cottage was perfect for us and my elderly parents. All on one level, good sized bathroom with walk in shower. Great for a 3 night break, but not really enough wardrobe space in bedrooms for 4 people to stay any longer. May not be such a problem in the summer, when sweaters, fleeces etc aren't needed! The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Was great to bring the dog too! Thank you.
Am very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is a new shower installed last year and has been much appreciated by our regular guests. We do hope to see you again in the future!!
Wonderful cottage and spectacular views.
My family and dog had a super Bank holiday long weekend here. We could not fault anything, just wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage was beautiful. Clean and everything you could want. Very comfortable beds, really nice sized bathroom all modern. The views from the cottage were quite breathtaking. I would certainly stay here again, and would recommend to anyone considering a holiday in Yorkshire. The alpacas in the nearby field were quite amusing. Plenty of parking space and a really large picnic area. What more could you want. We were very lucky with the weather. A very memorable stay.
From start to finish it was fantastic. Beautiful location and lovely cottage. Thank you so much.
My husband, my 11 month old daughter and I stayed in Ryedale Cottage the week before Easter. We were overwhelmed by the location (rolling hills, farm animals, village location), the peace and quiet, and the cottage itself. The cottage we had was all on one level which was very handy especially having a little one toddling about! The two bedrooms were of good size and nicely done out. We were greeted with fresh farm eggs and hot cross buns which went down a treat! We had a completely relaxing time and didn't need to worry about anything as it had all been catered for. Would completely recommend and we will definitely be staying again. Communication with the owners was fantastic - thanks for a great break :)
We had a lovely stay at Sproxton Hall Cottages. We were in Ryedale Cottage, which is the smallest, but a perfect size for 2 parents and our kids, 5 and 8. The cottage is charming, spotless and in a fantastic location. It is in a tiny village/hamlet, surrounded by farmland, with sheep, chickens and llamas on the property. There are 3/4 other cottages right there, but we didn't hear them once. The views are fantastic. It is very quiet and peaceful, and you are in a perfect position to explore the moors. We drove to Goathland to catch the stem train to Whitby, and also the other way, past Rievaulx Abbey and around all the tiny lanes and villlages there. It's a five-minute drive from Helmsley, which was lovely. Friendly communication from the owner. Everyone had a relaxing weekend away and can't wait to come back. Bring soap, coffee, tea and milk, and you're all set.
Autumn stay at Sproxton Hall Cottage
Thank you for a lovley stay in your cottage the other week (28th Oct to 4th Nov). It was a lovley cottage in a great location.
Once we found it! If you had said look out for the sandstone achway to turn off main road it would have been no problem.
The cottage was just what we need for a quiet stay and look around north yorkshire dales. The weather was grand and the views and trees showed off to their best. We would recomend this cottage for a holiday and it is very dog friendly.
