About the property

House in Polzeath, Cornwall, England - An Amazing Location

This comfortable William IV house enjoys an outstanding location right by Polzeath beach, one of England's finest. Polzeath, famous for its surfing, is near Rock, Padstow and Port Isaac, on Cornwall's rugged Atlantic coast. Its character and spectacular position make 'the Pink House' a well-known landmark; at high tide the sea washes the cliffs below, and when it retreats steep rocky steps lead down to the huge beach. The seaward view is timeless, sunsets over Pentire Head memorable. The area is the most fashionable of Britain's resorts; the coastline, well protected by the National Trust, is of outstanding beauty. St Enodoc and Roserrow golf courses and a number of notable restaurants including Rick Stein's are close at hand, while Rock and Padstow provide all sorts of water activities. Sky, internet, dvd, books, games etc.

The Best House in Polzeath - no question

  • 5 of 5

It's immediately apparent that this is more of a family house than a rental - and I'm told most guests are long-returning visitors. It is an old house and has the character to match - although the owners have made several good improvements like the double glazed bay windows looking out to sea. it only has 2 bathroms, but there are sinks in every bedroom, Victorian style, so they never get too busy: the beach shower is great for warming up right out of the sea!

There appeared to be new fibre broadband this year as well alond with the thousands of books and boxes of games, DVDs etc., so no problem if it rained!

The grounds (4 gardens) has had a lot of work over the last few years and are beginning to look lovely: a rather nice breakfast spot looking SE for the morning sun was my favorite!

In summary - this is an old house with all the quirks, but comfortable, fun and interesting at every turn.
