We decided to give up our jobs and move to France to open some Gites and live the life. When our two boys went to university we decided the time was right to make the move. Our project included a place where people with reduce mobility will find a safe haven as Marie has a friend who had a stroke at a very early age which left her paralysed down one side. After this she found it difficult to go on holiday with her family so we were keen to make our gites accessible to people with reduced mobility.
When you book with us we exchange contract to confirm your booking before you send us your payment. Merci......

Having travelled around France looking for a place where we would like to live, we eventually came across the Vosges. Little known to the French, let alone the rest of the world, we found it entrancing. Its natural beauty and continental climate giving each season a unique feel. With skiing in the winter and outdoor pursuits in the summer it is a perfect area to be.Having decided on the region we started the house hunting in earnest. We were looking for a typical farm for renovation ('dans son jus' as the Vogiens say) ideally with outbuildings and a few acres. Having seen many farms, when we drove into the courtyard of the farm in Champdray we knew it was the one for us. Further investigation confirmed our love for the building and its barns.
Easily accessible, our gites are open all year in the village of Champdray on a plateau on the edge of the Ballons des Vosges National Park. In an exceptional location nestled in the landscape, you have a particularly healthy environment throughout the year.
At the heart of an authentic late 18th century Vosgien farm the, tastefully renovated with passion and in perfect harmony with nature, come and enjoy the privacy and comfort to relax.
On a plot of 3 acres, where flora and fauna abound, they are ideally located. Calm and tranquil, yet within easy reach of the mountains for walking, cycling and skiing.
Completion of the contract and 20% deposit required to confirm booking.

Our first impressions were wow. Tastefully decorated with everything you need. The spa room with pool, sauna and steam room is amazing. Set in an ideal location to chill and relax - we miss seeing the wildlife and watching the sunsets. Would recommend to anyone - definitely the best Gite we have hired yet.
Chose this accommodation based on it being wheelchair accessible and it did not disappoint. It worked really well and we had a great week exploring the area. Marie and Phil are great fountain of knowledge and suggested some great places to visit and eat at. We had an amazing meal at A Table in Vagney worth returning just to eat there! Definitely recommend this gite to disabled travellers who like a bit of adventure.
We loved everything about this gite. The owners were friendly and helpful and kind. The property was exactly as shown on the web site, it was clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend it. Never had a Hammam before but enjoyed it. Cannot swim so did not use the pool but it looked good. Did not use the sauna but it looked good too. We were lucky in the weather - it was great and we ate out using the table and chairs provided and the sun parasol. Plenty of room outside for lazing about. Peaceful and calm atmosphere. Our 'neighbours' in the other gite were fun and friendly. All in all a fabulous week which we will remember for a long long time.
We have just spent a great week in Le Carrier and would highly recommend the gite and the area.
Spacious first class accommodation and Phil & Marie very welcoming and informative.
The Vosges area is beautiful with lakes and wooded hillsides.
We had a very relaxing week as temperatures were constantly in the 90's, spending many happy hours on our terrace looking over the lake with a glass of Cremant d'Alsace - the local champagne.
We stayed at gites de 'Etang last summer and what a wonderful place it is, excellent access for people with disabilities, great little indoor swimming pool and Marie and Phil were so welcoming. Champdray is good for walking and touring and Geredamer is a lovely town nearby and further afield Strasbourg and the Rhine valley is easily accessible. Thank you so much, we hope to be back soon. God Bless you, Kelvin & Jennie Burke & Family
Beautiful and comfortable gite in the idyllic country side of the Voges.
Marie and Phil made us more than welcome , home made jam and Kuglehopf on arrival.
The location is good for touring , we visited Colmar and the wine region we toured the mountains and lakes and went walking direct form the house.
It would be a good location for skiing in winter.
The spa room is a an added benefit.
