Thorn Barn sleeps 10+ in 5 bedrooms - 2 Kingsize, 2 doubles and 1 twin/superking with 4 bathrooms. We also have two travels cots and a camp bed for little ones who want to share with their parents. It's a stunning 5 star barn conversion in a rural setting but close to the historic, independent town of Totnes and a short drive from the sandy beaches and Dartmoor. Architect designed, huge kitchen, wood burners, roll top baths, slate floors, vintage wallpaper and quirky touches makes this an amazing place to have as a base for your Devon holiday.

Shelley and James will welcome you personally to Thorn Barn. We live in the farmhouse next door with our ever growing young family and are always on hand to help if you need us.

We love this part of Devon with it's beautiful, long ambling walks in stunning countryside, it's amazing local produce, and endless list of things to do and see. It seems like everything our family could want is on our doorstep!

We fell in love with Thorn Farm from the moment we saw it and have painstakingly converted the barn and hope our guests love it as much as us...

What makes this barn unique

We are in the process of adding chickens to the farm so the guests can benefit from some fresh eggs and the barn also has its own veg patch which guests can help themselves to (subject to weather and season!).

Slapton wild beach with great fish and chips 20 min drive

Blackpool Sands beautiful picturesque beach with an organic cafe 25 min drive

Batham & Bigbury great body boarding/surf beaches with surf school 25 min drive

Mill bay beautiful soft sandy beach great for kids a bit further but worth the drive and a national trust beach so free parking for national trust members 40 min drive

Nearest train station is Totnes which has a direct line to London Paddington


Totnes is an individual and vibrant town with a great local produce and junk/antique market, cafes and shops which is 4 miles away.

We are also within easy reach of Dartmouth, Salcombe and Kingsbridge

Dartmoor is also easily accessible. Approx 20 min by car to some of the most breathtaking scenery in Devon.

Nearest pub and local shop is 2 miles. Supermarkets, banks, doctors etc all in Totnes (4 miles).

A deposit of 30% of the rental fee is payable before your booking is confirmed with the balance due 8 weeks before the start date of the rental.
We require full payment for bookings made less than 8 weeks before the start date.
Please note our suggested dates for Christmas and New Year bookings 22nd to 29th December 2016 and 29th December to 5th January 2017. We are flexible though so please give us a call/email.

Changeover Day:
Our changeover day is Friday but this is flexible out of peak times. Check in time is after 2.30pm and check out time is 10am. See our website for further details.

Notes on prices:
We can offer 3 night stays at 80% of the weekly rate and 4 night stays at 90% of the weekly rate. Please contact us for more details.

Pets welcome Parking for 4 cars Eco friendly conversion incorporating solar thermal hot water, private water supply and underfloor heating. Outside: There is a barbecue, outdoor seating for 10, a terrace looking out over the amazing views and an enclosed garden with a lawn area. The barn is situated within our small farm, we are happy for our guests to explore the five acres of open fields. There is also a rope swing, a huge fire pit and plenty of space to run and build dens. Utility Room: Microwave, washing machine, iron and ironing board, space for coats and boots Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included we ask you to bring your own beach towels. Other: 1 Z bed/camp/children's bed, 2 Travel cots and 2 high chairs available.
