Bluebell Cottage is a South facing, bright and comfortably furnished, ground floor accommodation. There is off road parking for 2 cars and an enclosed grassed garden to the front with beautiful open views. 1/2 a mile away is Pitmedden Forest with many walk/cycle routes and picnic tables. The village of Auchtermuchty is 1/2 a mile away with pubs, shops and cafes. Auchtermuchty was the adopted home for Sir Jimmy Shand MBE, MA who was a famous Scottish accordionist and dance band leader in the 1950/60's. Bluebell Cottage was the music room for Jimmy Shand and is named after his 1955 chart topping hit the "Bluebell Polka". The village has a bronze statue in honour of this late great musician. Today the famous musical talents to come from the village are The Proclaimers.
Pleasantly surprised by the location and the accommodation!
Very well equipped, nice and modern and very quiet plus central with lots of nice villages around.
We will be back!
What a beautiful cottage in the most beautiful location! We visited the area to see family and had everyone over for tea! The cottage is like a home from home! Everything in the kitchen you can think of and lovely comfy beds. Wonderful morning walks and even saw deer! I'd recommend Bluebell cottage to all and hope to visit again soon
yet another great week staying in Blue Bell cottage. If you want to go sight seeing or just visiting friends and relatives this is the place to stay. Central to all of Fife and beyond and after a long day it is nice you have somewhere welcoming to come back to with all mod cons but with an exceptional cottage feeling. Situated in beautiful peaceful location the scenery from either the front or back of the cottage is outstanding - see you next year Lynne or before is time allows.
Very well appointed cottage in a beautiful scenic location. We stayed here for a short break and cannot fault it in any way. Not a lot going on in Auchtermuchty itself but there are several large towns within a 30 minute drive. I would definitely recommend this cottage for a short or long break.
