Why Nigel Perks chose Suffolk

We love the Suffolk coast and surrounding area. We recently retired and decided to look for a place to allow us to spend more time there. After looking closely at a number of locations along the coast we believe we have found the perfect spot. Beach View Holiday Park is a family run business in a the quiet, rural location overlooking the sea and beach. We love to walk our dogs and unlike the busier coastal resorts there are no restrictions on walking your dogs on the beach, in any season.

Notes on accommodation: The lodge is built to the highest specifications. It provides first class luxury accommodation for all seasons. Free WiFi and Internet access, although this is the Suffolk coast and you may find it is considerably slower than you may be used to! Children are welcome. Dogs welcome - maximum 2. The large, private decked verandah has a lockable side gate to provide a safe and secure environment for young children and pets. No smoking please. There is parking for 2 cars in front of the lodge. A full pack is available covering the working of all appliances including central heating but we are always available and happy to answer any questions or deal with problems, should they arise, either before or during your stay. Outside: There are marvellous sea views from the verandah and living/dining areas. The verandah has comfortable outdoor furniture consisting of a sofa, 2 armchairs with comfy cushions, coffee table & 2 matching sun loungers. The large, raised verandah can only be accessed via the French doors from the living room or through a lockable side gate. It provides privacy for adults and a safe environment for young children and pets. The beach, 50 metres away, is easily accessed via a footpath on the site. There are no restrictions on walking dogs on the beach, even in peak season. There is easy access to a number of walks including the Suffolk Coastal and Heritage Path and the Sandlings Walk. The location also gives easy access to the beautiful Suffolk coast and surrounding area including the coastal towns and villages of Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Southwold, Thorpeness, Snape, Walberswick and Minsmere Nature Reserve (BBC Spring Watch). Ipswich, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are within easy driving distance. Utility Room: Modern condensing boiler supplying a full radiator central heating and hot water. Dyson vacuum cleaner; clothes airer; ironing board and iron; mop, bucket, broom, dust pan and brush. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linens, towels, tea towels and general guest supplies are provided. A travel cot and high chair are also available for young children. If staying longer than a week a housekeeping service is available, if required, at a modest additional cost. Other: Full height windows show off the wonderful sea views. French doors open onto a large, private, decked verandah overlooking the sea. An outdoor sofa, armchairs, coffee table and 2 sun loungers to make the most of the lovely sea views. Parking for 2 cars.

Fabulous lodge in amazing surroundings

We've just returned from a long weekend in the Sandlings lodge. I can honestly say everything was perfect. The lodge was wonderful - spotless on our arrival, comfortable and great location looking out to sea from the balcony. The site was very well maintained and access to the beach within minutes. We were blessed with lovely weather all weekend which made our walk to Alderburgh and back all the more enjoyable and the dogs had a great time. I've already recommended the Sandlings to a colleague and we will most definitely be returning - can't wait 😃?

Perfect

We had booked for 5 days but enjoyed it so much asked to stay an extra night, which luckily wasn't a problem.

Nigel is always quick to respond to any question.

The lodge itself is extremely well maintained and has everything you could ever need, like home to home. The actual site is extremely clean and tidy.

The surrounding area is perfect, pubs, fish and chips we even found the local Indian delivered!

We took our dog which was lovely as you can walk to Thorpeness and further on to Aldburgh which are both lovely villages.

A short drive and you are in Southwold which is also lovely with a traditional pier.

So all in all definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic as always. Our third stay at this fabulous, dog friendly property.

We have just returned from a long weekend at Sandlings. It was our third stay at the property and it won't be our last. The owners have made it so homely, with every comfort and facility you could need. It is spotlessly clean, warm and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped.

We always take our dog along with us and the beach and surrounding area are a dog walkers paradise. Thorpeness is under an hours walk away and there is a lovely pub there (The Dolphin) which is dog friendly.

During our stay, we witnessed some fantastic sunrises and a full moon over the sea one evening from the lodge deck area which overlooks the beach.

If you are considering staying at Sandlings, don't hesitate. I can't recommend it highly enough. My husband, our Springer and I love staying there and hope to do so many more times.

Superb stay in Suffolk

We really enjoyed our stay at sandlings .the accomadation was excellent with everything you needed for a comfortable stay .

We stayed in September to celebrate my Wife's birthday .Just us two and our two small dogs .

My wife , Barbara wanted to stay at luxurious accomadation next to the beach .with a sea view and good walking routes nearby .

Sandlings met all those requirements .perfect.

We would definetly recommend this property to anyone .with or without dogs ,as you would not know .dogs have been in the property .

And the Area is a great area for sight seeing and exploring .

What an excellent find. The Lodge was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very quiet. It was a splendidly positioned for the dog walks.

Coast/Beach:

The lodge is 50 metres from the beach and the Suffolk Coastal Path on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The holiday park nestles between Thorpeness and the RSPB's Reserve at Minsmere, where you can enjoy stunning views and see some of our rarest wildlife. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is renowned for its beautiful countryside and coastal towns and villages, steeped in history. The Sandlings Walk passes close to the Beach View Holiday Park and runs for 58 miles from Southwold to the outskirts of Ipswich!

Travel:

Use of a car, whilst not essential for enjoyment of your holiday, is strongly recommended if you want to take full advantage of all that this part of the Suffolk Heritage Coast has to offer. But if you just want to escape and unwind in real luxury, find a quiet and peaceful location in which to put your feet up or get out and enjoy the fresh air on coastal walks to Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Minsmere or Dunwich then Sandlings is for you.

Distances:

The town of Leiston, with all its facilities and amenities, is approx. 2 miles away by car. Thorpeness is 3 miles, Aldeburgh 4 miles, Snape 5 miles, Minsmere 4 miles, Dunwich 7 miles and Southwold 14 miles. Further afield, Ipswich is 25 miles, Lowestoft 24 miles, Great Yarmouth 34 miles, Norwich 38 miles and London 105 miles. All by car.

The Beach View Holiday Park has an onsite Clubhouse Bar and Family Games Room (March to September). Sea fishing from the beach is popular. The town of Leiston is less than 2 miles away with all the usual facilities and amenities including pubs, cafes, cash machines, a wide range of takeaways, a cinema showing the latest releases, a supermarket and local museum. You will find a wide range of seasonal events and activities in the other neighbouring towns and villages of Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Snape, Dunwich and Southwold. The major resorts of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are within easy travelling distance. Booking Notes:
Please check availability and full booking conditions with us prior to booking. A deposit of £50 of the cost of your holiday will be required together with a signed booking form. The balance will be due and payable within 6 weeks of the start of your holiday. Rental rates are all inclusive of electricity, heating and water together with FREE WIFI and Internet access. Small additional charges are payable in respect of each dog (£5 per night). Bank transfer or cheque are our preferred methods of payment.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day in peak season is a Friday, arrival after 3pm, departure by 10.00am. Short breaks Friday to Monday; Monday to Friday, arrivals after 3pm, departures before 10.00am. We try to be as flexible as possible so call us to discuss your own needs.

Notes on prices:
Not available for New Year bookings.
Short breaks Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday will normally be charged at up to 75% of the weekly rate in peak season and are negotiable at other times. If you require different periods, whether longer or shorter, these can be negotiated on an individual basis. We will be as flexible as possible depending on availability and the time of year.
