About Heather McAdam
South Lodge was our family home in Scotland for 8 years, during which time David's job has taken us to India, 2 years, Malaysia 3 years, Egypt 3 years, Netherlands 3 years and most recently Vietnam for 2 years. In 2013 we moved to a house in Maidens, two miles from Turnberry and David is currently an Independent Consultant Geologist in the UK.
Heather McAdam purchased this House in 2004
Why Heather McAdam chose Turnberry
The view, the view, the view and it is pretty handy for the beach and a game of golf!
What makes this House unique
The living space is open plan and there is a lot of it. The conservatory is a great place to sit if the sun is shining even in winter, the sitting room is very large with a large picture window to the front and side - everywhere you are you can see the sea and outdoors - and there is a separate dining area if you want a more formal meal, although the conservatory also has a large table.

Stunning views stunning weather clean
Excellent time had by all, only problem was cooking on aga which did not seem to be working as it should
Quite a lovely spot on the coast
We quite enjoyed our brief stay at this home. The kitchen was so warm and inviting (we hung out in there like we do mostly at our home). It was lovely to have cow in the pasture behind the house. The kids and I checked on them regularly throughout the day to see what they were doing. While it was completely fogged in during our first day, we were grateful that we were able to see the water from all over the house the second day. Our only mistake is that we weren't able to stay longer. Perhaps next time we are in Scotland!
Thank you again for a terrific spot to land our sleepy travelling heads!
Beautiful, furnished to a very high standard, fantastic views from lounge and conservatory
We absolutely loved this house. Very spacious for 8 people with so many different areas to either gather in a large group or look for some chill time in smaller groups or individually. The owner was so helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend and definitely intend returning. House is exceptionally well maintained as are the gardens. The guest house is an added bonus, lovely and compact with everything you need for 2 people. Cannot wait to visit again.
Great location well furnished and comfortable
Great host, great facilities, lots of space. Walkable to beach and Turnberry resort. Plenty to visit and do nearby as well as places to eat and drink.
Lovely house in beautiful quiet setting
Lovely house in beautiful, quiet setting with a fantastic view of the islands of Arran and Ailsa Craig. Plenty of space for people and the Annexe was really very pleasant too.
Fabulous open plan living. Lots of room for eight people to find space and relax.
This property was lovely. Very comfortable and with magnificent views over the water. Lots of hours on the big deck in the sunshine or heading to the beach to swim. The Aga cooker looked lovely but took a bit of getting used to so appreciated the halogen hotpate to speed things up when cooking breakfast for 8 of us. Beds very comfortable and fridge and freezer space fabulous. The views are amazing and we'll definitely return for another visit. The owner was very helpful and instructions on how to get there were spot on.
