About Heather McAdam

South Lodge was our family home in Scotland for 8 years, during which time David's job has taken us to India, 2 years, Malaysia 3 years, Egypt 3 years, Netherlands 3 years and most recently Vietnam for 2 years. In 2013 we moved to a house in Maidens, two miles from Turnberry and David is currently an Independent Consultant Geologist in the UK.

Heather McAdam purchased this house in 2004

Why Heather McAdam chose Turnberry

The view, the view, the view and it is pretty handy for the beach and a game of golf!

What makes this house unique

The living space is open plan and there is a lot of it. The conservatory is a great place to sit if the sun is shining even in winter, the sitting room is very large with a large picture window to the front and side - everywhere you are you can see the sea and outdoors - and there is a separate dining area if you want a more formal meal, although the conservatory also has a large table.

A beautiful house in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this beautiful house! The house was very clean when we arrived. It is a very spacious and comfortable home with gorgeous views of the sea. The kitchen was fantastic and well equipped to make meals. We loved the beautiful sun room and ate breakfast out there everyday. Great location to walk to the lighthouse and to the sea. Heather was so nice and accommodating, an excellent host. She was so helpful when we couldn't figure out how to use the stove. We finally did and loved it! Thank you for a great week!

Quite a lovely spot on the coast

  • 5 of 5

We quite enjoyed our brief stay at this home. The kitchen was so warm and inviting (we hung out in there like we do mostly at our home). It was lovely to have cow in the pasture behind the house. The kids and I checked on them regularly throughout the day to see what they were doing. While it was completely fogged in during our first day, we were grateful that we were able to see the water from all over the house the second day. Our only mistake is that we weren't able to stay longer. Perhaps next time we are in Scotland!

Thank you again for a terrific spot to land our sleepy travelling heads!

Beautiful, furnished to a very high standard, fantastic views from lounge and conservatory

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this house. Very spacious for 8 people with so many different areas to either gather in a large group or look for some chill time in smaller groups or individually. The owner was so helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend and definitely intend returning. House is exceptionally well maintained as are the gardens. The guest house is an added bonus, lovely and compact with everything you need for 2 people. Cannot wait to visit again.
