The Lodges have been part of the Estate since they were built - their heritage is our heritage! The Ruggles-Brise family have lived at Spains Hall since 1768, only the 3rd family to live here since 1086.

Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and this mainly due to the amazing team and surroundings at Spains Hall. We did not want our day to end. Waking up here was incredible, what a beautiful place to have our first breakfast together. Archie, Anna, Helga and Ellie you were all amazing, thank you so much for everything - we will never forget our wedding at Spains Hall.

A charming home away from home.

Wonderful walks in the morning. Enjoyed our Christmas holiday so very much. Lovely cottage. We could not have been more impressed with the cleanliness and the amenities of the cottage. Truly, a home away from home.

Lovely period property in beautiful setting

A very happy week's holiday and a chance to celebrate two birthdays. Perfect Mediterranean weather climaxed by dramatic thunderstorms. We really enjoyed the beauty of the area. The property's facilities are excellent, we enjoyed very good customer service during the booking process and the owners are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this to a friend or relative.

Beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings.

We had a wonderful week staying in North Lodge. It was lovely and clean and very well maintained and equipped.

We walked through the fields into the picturesque village as well as completing the circular walk (details of which were provided). The Picture Pot serves a very good cream tea.

We also enjoyed visiting Coggeshall village and Audley End House.

We regret that we cannot accept guests under the age of 21, except as part of a family group accompanied by parents/guardians. Sorry but due to the immaculate condition of the Lodges we are unable to accept any pets. Breakfast is not provided unless by prior arrangement. Crest Lodge maximum persons permitted at any time 12 (6 residents and 6 visitors), North Lodge maximum persons permitted at any time 10 (4 residents and 6 visitors), South Lodge maximum persons permitted at any time 10 (4 residents and 6 visitors) (includes both lodges, gardens and grounds). Outside: All Lodges have private gardens - Crest Lodge has an enclosed garden with mature shrubs and trees overlooking grassland fields. The bricked patio area is immediately outside the sun room which contains wicker furniture. North Lodge offers a fenced garden with decked area and wooden garden furniture and gas patio heater. South Lodge has a garden over-looking open fields and a south-west facing conservatory, perfect for those summer sunsets. We regret that due to the private nature of the grounds and surrounding farmland we are unable to allow renters access to either.
