About Michael and Fyona Robson

We have been providing self catering accommodation in Craster for over 17 years. We live in the village with our two golden retrievers. Michael ,being a Craster local, has an extensive knowledge of the area.

Why Michael and Fyona Robson chose Northumberland

The lodges are located in the picturesque village of Craster on the Northumberland heritage coast in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The surrounding countryside offers delightful market towns and villages, beautiful sandy beaches, many ancient castles and churches and the wild countryside of the Coquet Valley, Simonside and Cheviot Hills. There are abundant opportunities for birdwatchers, walkers, cyclists and golfers.

Within the village there is a pub serving food, tearoom, art gallery, fish restaurant and wet fish shop.

Sea angling trips depart from the harbour.

What makes this cabin unique

The lodges are all on one level and the Moorings lodge is wheelchair accessible. They are just a minutes walk from the harbour at the centre of the village from which there is a spectacular northerly coastal walk to the 14th century ruins of Dunstanburgh castle. Pets are welcome.

NB No cell phone or internet coverage

  • 3 of 5

Lodge is clean and comfortable. The Lodge description does not, however, mention that there is no cell phone coverage in Craster and that there is no wireless in the lodge. This can be a plus for some travellers but for those of us who need to study / research or work whilst on holiday, it isn't ideal. Information packs in the Lodge are also a bit out of date.

Lovely cabin and charming seaside village

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a charming stay in your lodge (which you kindly upgraded us to- the Moorings).

There was plenty of information on local interests and places to visit in the lodge, this was good as there is no phone signal whatsoever in the village and no Wifi unfortunately.

The lodge was very well equipped and had everything you could need. We walked to the north and south along the coastal path and although weather wasn't great it was still very scenic. We ate twice at the cottage inn which was dog friendly and had good vegetarian choices too.
