About Fenella Elms
Fenella Elms, ceramics artist, works in the workshop at the far end of the long cottage. You will find some of her work in the barn and by prior arrangement you are welcome to visit the workshops to find out more during your stay.
Why Fenella Elms chose Marlborough
Alma Barn is attached to the end of a cottage where the owners, the Elms family, have lived for nearly 20 years. In this time the barn has been used for horses, cattle and lambing before special listing permission was given to restore the barn to make a holiday let from 2012.

Absolutely stunning in all ways.
We spent a week here, and the barn (which though quaint sounding, is actually a misnomer) exceeded every expectation. The accommodations are outstanding, the location gorgeous, and the hosts were attentive and yet unobtrusive, allowing us to bathe in the peace and serenity of the place. There was simply not a single thing that we found that was anything but exceptional.
And there is a cat. We do not know his formal name, but we gave him the week-long appellation of Barn Cat. There may be a few things I might forget over time about our visit, but I assure you the sheer love and joy Barn Cat lavished upon us each morning and evening will never be forgotten. :-)
5 stars which easily could / should be twenty. Cannot recommend this property highly enough.
Really lovely converted barn in a quaint village. It was centrally located for our weekend jaunts around Wiltshire, and it was a good space for our family of four. Very comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed. The only improvement I might suggest is the addition of ceiling fans in the bed/loft areas as it got a bit warm and stuffy at night.
Lovely for our family of 4
Alma Barn was a perfect place to stay while we explored the countryside. We were able to make several meals in the kitchen, the beds were comfortable and the heated floor was fantastic. The co op down the road had what we needed for groceries and the towns pubs were enjoyable.
So pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Alma Barn and your time in our village. Do hope that the rest of your trip was a success, and that maybe we can look forward to welcoming you back one day.

Lovely barn with all amenities and sheep grazing in the field outside
Another stay at the Barn with everything that we need to make a dinner, watch a DVD, have a comfortable nights sleep, shower and breakfast in the morning, and a short journey into Swindon. Perfect.

A wonderful stay in the country
We had a marvelous stay in the Alma Barn in Aldbourne. Wonderful interior, warm and welcoming hosts, and careful attention to every detail. Loved the heated floors - very cozy, the creative decor, the very comfortable beds, and the special treats awaiting our arrival. Love that we had the option to eat out in the village, or stay in and prepare a meal. Really couldn't ask for a more warm and welcoming accommodation to return to after a day of hiking the English countryside. A lovely escape during the Christmas holiday. Thank you!
Thank you Lori & family for your kind review. We were very pleased to have you stay in Alma Barn over the Christmas period and hope that your holiday lived up to expectations. I was particularly impressed with the cakes you baked in the Barn!! Best wishes & I hope that one day you will return.,
