|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
Slightly smaller than Le Balcon, but equally impressive, with access gained through the old courtyard or separate garden entrance. It is also very close to the pool. It has a double bed and pine wardrobe, en-suite shower room, beamed ceiling throughout with ceiling fan and a/c unit. It has a newly fitted kitchen area comprising 4 ring gas hob, combination oven/microwave, kettle, fridge, toaster, caffetier, selection of pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware. It has a pine table and chairs and whilst Le Gite D'ete is without a balcony it is on the ground floor and has a seating area outside surrounded by beautifully manicured trees and shrubs adjoining a medley of corners and courtyards.
Not your typical tourist accommodation, the Old Elementary School of Peyia harks back to a bygone age set deep in the heart of the village.
Once derelict, it has been lovingly and painstakingly restored by its owners, David & Annick and now offers 2 separate 'Gite style' apartments.
Full of distinctive old Greek charm and character whilst including all modern conveniences.
The setting and courtyards are often likened to a set in Mama Mia ...this secluded oasis appeals to the discerning traveller who seek privacy and comfort within friendly and attractive surroundings.
Entrance is via the old courtyard, completely enclosed and separate from the street. It is a wash with colour, vivid pinks and red bougainvillea cascading over white walls and complimented beautifully by the Mykonos blue doors and shutters. Lemon trees hang boldly over the swimming pool and gentle breezes carry the gentle scent of Rosemary, Sage and Thyme.
The panoramic views overlook the church, a mishmash of roof tops and out to the coast to the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean.
When you've had enough of relaxing around the pool, Peyia is an excellent base from which to explore the island.
The owners have recently installed a wood burning stove to add a cosier and romantic feel to anyone wishing to stay during the cooler months.

The gite is the perfect traditional stay. Like something out of Mumma Mia! With a beautiful pool, only shared with one other couple, and a beautiful garden, patio and bbq area. The gite comes ready with everything you could need! Peyia is a lovely little place with some great taverns. I would highly recommend to anyone. Carole and Malcolm were really friendly and helpful and so were the owners Annik and David. We were made to feel completely at home. Thankyou x
We very nearly booked a 5 star hotel in Paphos, upon arriving and being driven to the Gite via Paphos we were so relieved that we didn't book the hotel. Paphos was for us rather tacky and touristy. We arrived at the Gite and even though in the middle of the village is an oasis of calm and quiet. Gardens are lovely and the pool area great. Le Gite D'Ete was a joy to stay in and we loved the fact that our little outside table and chairs was right in the garden overlooking the pool. We sat out every night with our wine and nibbles. The supermarket was right round the corner for all our needs and parking outside gave us no problem. It is hilly but so is Cyprus. The folder of info was well done and invaluable so well done to David, Annick, Carole and Malcolm for making our stay a truly memorable one. We would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay. Linda and Stuart
The photographs of the Gite d'Ete accurately reflect the size of the accommodation, small but with everything you need for a comfortable stay (with the possible exception of an oven). Wi-fi worked well and we were able to stream UK radio and TV without problems. Carole and Malcolm of Complete Management Cyprus made the booking process quick and easy, handled all our queries and looked after us very well while we were staying at the Gite.
The swimming pool and garden area (shared with Le Balcon) is really great, plenty of sun (and shade if you prefer), comfortable sun loungers with large sun umbrellas and well tended shrubs and trees. It was great to sit outside in the morning, eating fresh pastries from the local bakery (just down from "The Jail" bar) watching swallows drinking from the pool.
The gite is in a very quiet area but is a 3 minute walk from a large well stocked supermarket and a selection of different restaurants (we would recommend "The Cousins").
All in all - everything you need for a relaxing holiday!
Thank you to David, Annick and Carole for a wonderful holiday staying at Le Balcon Gite. The Gite was fantastic and the views absolutely stunning.
The photographs on the website looked stunning. We wanted something away from the main tourist areas, but still accessible to the restaurants and bars in the evenings without having to drive and it didn't disappoint.
The Golf Courses were our main attraction also. Although we were a little unlucky with the weather for part of the holiday, we did manage to get a game in at Minthis Hills and Secret Valley. They both were very good, but our favourite without a doubt was Secret Valley. The course, facilities and staff were wonderful.
Latchi is well worth a trip out to for lunch at the Harbour where you are spoilt for Restaurants.
Paphos Zoo was a pleasant surprise and a good way to while away a couple of hours.
Tomb of the Kings is worth a visit, but make sure you take some water at least as there were no vendors on the site and it is quite spread out.
The Green Hill Restaurant/Bar in Peyia has fantastic panoramic views but extremely expensive, even just for coffees.
We headed out to Oniro but it is closed during winter months. Went onto the Sea Caves Tavern a bit further along. We were the only customers due to the weather and being slightly out of season, but it was very nice and worth a visit.
Peyia Tavern and Cousins Restaurant are very good. Make sure you are ravenous before you go to Peyia Tavern as the volume of food is big!
Grand Restaurant/Bar is also worth a visit for snacks, but more so for the lovely atmosphere.
I would without a doubt recommend this Gite, but only for folks who do not have any mobility issues due to the steep incline.
Thanks again to David, Annick and Carole for a wonderful holiday.
