Bakewell Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Butts Cottage in Bakewell, Derbyshire, England - 4 Star Visit Britain Rated Cottage On A Quiet Lane With Car Parking

Butts Cottage is a charming Georgian cottage situated on a quiet private lane 500 yds from the centre of Bakewell. It has 2 bedrooms, a generous bathroom with separate shower and bath, a very well equipt kitchen, a cosy lounge and a cellar/utility room which is ideal for keeping a few bottles of wine cool. Outside, the courtyard which belongs to the cottage, allows you to sit out and have drink or even have a meal at the table and chairs provided. As it's a busy market town parking is always at a premium and so the designated parking space on the lane is a real bonus. Free Wi-Fi is available

Suitability:

  • non smoking only

About Charles Kirkman

Christine and I live in Baslow just 4 miles from Bakewell and so are able to be on hand to look after our cottages and our guests if there are any problems. We have a local business which provides services all over the Peak District and so we love the area and know it well and are always pleased to give local information to help you make the most of your stay.

Charles Kirkman purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Charles Kirkman chose Derbyshire Dales

Christine and I moved to the area 18 years ago and set up a business providing services to local residents and businesses which has enabled us to become part of the community and also to come to know the area very well.

We love the beauty of the countryside but also the diversity in the villages, the local customs and festivals and of course the people who live here.

Bakewell is in the centre of the Peak District and is a real tourist attraction in its own right, but it also makes the surrounding area very accessible whether by car, on foot or by public transport.

What makes this cottage unique

Whilst on a gentle hill the cottage is truly within easy walking distance of the town centre and other attractions. It is near the church and the Bakewell Museum for example. Parking in Bakewell is always an issue so we ensured each of our properties have designated parking, and at Butts Cottage there is a place for one cars.

Butts Cottage is rated 4 Stars by the Tourist Board and has the modern facilities you would expect but at the same time retaining many features and the charm of a quaint old cottage. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Beautiful homely cottage. Very clean and well laid out, catering for everything that was needed for a comfortable break. The thoughtful act of leaving provisions was greatly appreciated. Excellent location opposite the church and only a short distance to the stunning town of Bakewell. Highly recommend.

Owner's Response: Its always very satisfying when we receive such positive comments as we try to create the same homely feel and standards in all 3 of our cottages which include Anne Cottage and Brew House which are also in central Bakewell and can be found on the Owners Direct website too.

Great cottage and location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Butts cottage for the October half term as a family of two adults and two children. The cottage is a fantastic holiday cottage and has everything that you might need. The attention to detail makes it feel like a home from home. It is also very close to Bakewell centre. The cottage is a credit to the owners and we will definitely return.

Owner's Response: We are delighted that the family had a great time and enjoyed Butts Cottage very much. It's especially pleasing that they found it a home from home which is the effect we try to create in our other two properties too, Anne Cottage (8119442) and Brew House (8124269) which are also in Bakewell and close to the town centre.

Cosy immaculate cottage

  • 5 of 5

This little cottage is just a few minutes walk from the centre of Bakewell. It is very cosy and very well equipped. Probably the cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in and I am very fussy! Felt at home as soon as we arrived, fresh bread, milk, tea and coffee left for us. Thank you!

Owner's Response: It's always great to get positive comments and know that guests enjoy our properties. We also have Brew House and Anne Cottage also very well situated in Bakewell where you'll find the same high standard.
