Jesmond Mercieca purchased this farmhouse in 2010
We bought this farmhouse in 2010 and finished arrange in 2013. We did most of the work our selves and too care of a lot of details that make your holiday special. We chose this location cause this is just in the outskirts of the capital city and in 5 min walk you'll be in the main center. It is just away from the busy and hectic life of the city by near enough the heart of the city. It is very easy accessible and has a very good location.
While we have other properties in the Village of Gharb, this property is better for it's location. Very close to the city center and has all the village farmhouses characteristics makes it a special farmhouse for those who love staying near the city center and still enjoying the sunshine of Gozo by the pool. In the evening you can take a walk to the city center where you will find lots of bars and restaurants which in the villages this is not possible and you will need a car to do so, while here everything is within walking distance.
As this farmhouse is situated in the City, beaches are accessible within 7 minutes by car or by bus since this is the centre of the island and buses leave towards all Gozo from here. Main beaches are Marsalforn and Xlendi with lots of restaurants and bars and nice sands beaches.
The only airport is in Malta and a ferry service connects Malta to Gozo. A bus service is available from the airport to the Cirkewwa port, get the ferry, cross to Gozo and you will find another bus to Victoria main bus station. Or you can simple let us organize a direct transfer (recommended) from the airport for a reasonable price which we can quote on demand.
5 min walk to main centre of Victoria, and 10 min walk from the villages Kercem and Fontana.
Gozo, a more rural island
Gozo is the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago, with a population of approximately 30,000 people. Though only separated from mainland Malta by a 5km stretch of sea, Gozo is distinctly different. The Island is about a third of the size of Malta, more rural and simple, its culture and way of life rooted in fishing, as well as in primitive pastoral and agricultural activity. so close and yet so different from Malta,
Gozo's charm is apparent the moment you arrive there. Greener, cleaner, more rural and smaller than Malta, life on Gozo moves at a leisurely pace. The rhythms dictated by the seasons, fishing and agriculture. In winter and spring, the Island is covered with flowering herbs and lush crops. In summer, it’s awash with colourful flowers, such as oleander, bougainvillea and geranium.
Gozitans have their own individual character and identity, with noticeably different lifestyles, accents and dialect. Gozitans are known for their friendliness and welcoming nature, often going out of their way to help visitors.
Sandy coastline, cliffs and creeks in Gozo
Gozo's rugged landscape and spectacular coastline await exploration. Choose from rocky inlets to red sandy beaches or sail, snorkel, dive and fish. The island’s rocky terrain is ideal for walking and trekking, cycling and rock climbing. Wherever you look, the sea is never more than a stone’s throw away and its Gozo’s remarkable coastline that stimulates the imagination so strongly: tiny creeks, beaches of red sand, turquoise bays, stretches of limestone criss-crossed with tiny salt pans and majestic high cliffs falling in a sheer drop into the clear waters.
