Barnfield Cottage sleeps 5 with 3 bedrooms. This beautiful cottage, which has a 4* rating from Quality in Tourism, is located in the centre of the village of Hathersage a short walk to the cafes, pubs, restaurant and shops. There is ample parking for 3/4 cars. The cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped with many original features. The cottage has a wood burning stove, two bathrooms (one en-suite) and a cloakroom. There is wifi at the property as well as a dishwasher, freezer and washerdryer. There is ample storage for bikes in the outdoor store. There are gardens to the front and rear where you can sit out and enjoy a barbecue or just relax on the patio enjoying the views after one of the many walks that can be enjoyed in the surrounding area.

There is an access road for the cottages that runs between the cottage and the front garden (parking is also in front of the garden). The rear garden is separated from the cottage by a narrow public footpath. The front garden has a summer house, patio with barbecue, table and chairs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included.

                                    Lovely, well-appointed cottage in excellent location. Very clean accommodation, and exactly as described. A real home-from-home feel about it. Neighbour very helpful in explaining best way into village (we arrived in the dark); supermarket delivery worked fine. Lots of useful info in folders in living room regarding walks and shops in village. Would definitely recommend.

                                    The property is furnished to a high standard with a modern central heating system. The rooms are well laid out and the beds are comfortable. The location of the property is perfect - being set is a very quiet cul de sac but only a short stroll from Hathersage village centre and train station (trains to Sheffield and Manchester from here). The surrounding countryside is stunning. We will certainly visit again.

                                    We came here to take the in-laws away for their Christmas gift and we weren't disappointed. This stunning little property is set in beautiful surroundings and the view from the attic seat is fantastic. Unfortunately I broke my toe a few days before our arrival so this is the most we saw of the view but the house had everything we needed to make us comfortable. Lovely log fire that we lite at night and well stocked kitchen ment we had everything to hand. We will definately be back in the summer for alittle longer, and hopefully no broken bones, to enjoy everything Hathersage has to offer.

                                    Had a wonderful time at the cottage - the whole stay was smooth from start to finish and we loved every moment!

                                    The cottage was just what we were looking for and the location was perfect - right next to the Peaks for country walks and lots of surrounding pubs. It was homely and clean, the pics don’t do it justice.

                                    Suzanne (neighbour) was also really friendly and helpful.

                                    Travel: Manchester Airport is approx 30 miles away. The village has a railway station with trains from Manchester and Sheffield. The cottage is walking distance (approx 10 mins) from the station. There is also a regular bus service from Sheffield (10 miles). Distances: Castleton, famous for its Blue John stone and mines, is approx 5 miles by car or bus. Chatsworth House is 20 minutes drive away by car and Bakewell is approx 30 mins drive. Ladybower Reservour is approximately 3 miles. Further Details: There is an open air swimming pool (April-Oct). The village boasts a butchers, bakers, greengrocers and 2 convenience stores (open to 10.00 pm). There is also a fishmonger who visits every Tuesday morning. The village has four pubs all serving food, an Indian Restaurant, a deli and several cafes.
